- Dear Friends,
as 2020 has started I finally find time to upload this recording from the 2019 European tour. I played this Veena solo as the final concert of the 25 year anniversary Music Festival of India Instruments in Berlin.
Raga Darbari was not only the favorite Raga of my Guruji Ustad Asad Ali Khan, its of course also inseparably associated with the Rudra Veena - unfolding its unparalleled depth and grandeur best when played in Dhrupad style Alap, Jor and Jhala.
Enjoy
Guruji... Every time I listen to the music you play, everytime my love for the instrument and the way of music increases ❤️
Beautiful, Carsten ji! 🙏 🙏
If Ocean is a instrument, waves are strings and air is the artist.... then how can a person judge or feel the greatest happiness....

Herr Wicke as immersed him self in the rags and the Rudra Veena as a part of himself , a truly great artist and a proponent of Rudra Veena .
* raga
That's why we play Rudra Veena, diving to the core of our being in the centre of the existence, which is nothing else than pure Naada...
The depth of this influence can't be mentioned through words sir, iam an illeratte in music just admiring it. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Ganesh, happy to read that you could connect so deeply. Knowing about grammar and aesthetics of the music can of course enhance the pleasure while listening to it. But in the end the biggest strength of music is that it it's a universal language that speaks from heart to heart.
The depth of the performance is beyond words.
So beautiful ❤️
