  • In this tutorial, I will show you how to animate blood splashing from a cut or gunshot wound.
I will guide you step by step on how to create the wound, set up the fluid simulation, scene, and materials. I will also cover how to bake the blood animation. This blood splatter animation can be a fun project for Halloween!
You will find the HDRI I used here: polyhaven.com/...
    0:00 Blood animation result
0:07 Creating the wound for the blood simulation
1:44 Setting up the liquid animation with quick effects, Quick Liquid
2:10 Setting the values for the cut and the flow source for the blood
3:54 Turning off the border collision for the liquid domain
4:21 Setting up the animation frames, cache location, and cache type
    4:53 Baking the animation data
5:20 Turning off gravity for the simulation in the field weights
5:38 Fine-tuning the shape of the wound
6:45 Refining the animation by increasing the resolution divisions
7:08 Render issues - no mesh for the particle cloud
7:55 Baking the mesh and making the particle cloud renderable
8:18 Setting up the scene and adding the HDRI via an environment texture
8:42 Changing the render engine to Cycles and setting max samples to 150 - it will look fine!
8:58 Controlling the shape of the blood, changing the look from a blob to a splatter
9:27 Demo: How different values in the upres factor and particle radius affect the look
10:12 Setting up the mesh values
11:00 Creating a quick, easy, and realistic blood material
13:11 Can’t see the particle animation? Change object properties and set viewport display to wireframe
13:48 Quick tip for rendering a single image - create a mesh for just one frame
