Hey friends! We got it up! Hit us with any questions you have, and please be gentle on the bike fits ;) We both just got new bikes (mine only 2 weeks ago) and we've got fits and wind tunnel time coming up in the next few weeks! We didn't talk about it in the video, but MIAMI SHIRTS are only available for pre-order until 6pm tonight! Snag one here: bit.ly/3l961cM
Eric whats that jogging shades you had on the first part of the vid? Your race suit is a real chameo! when wet it super slick, on dry it looks like swedish flag and your name kinda suggest you have viking roots mate... :D are u suggesting you are swedish? :D
Thanks for the vid Eric, a lesser man would have blown it off. You are truly dedicated to your followers and that's what makes TTL a success. The race recap was very informative. You will have your "hands full" going up against big, strong guys like Jan, Lionel, Rudy, Magnus, Starky, who can lay down some scary watts. That's the price of racing a stacked field. I was wondering what happened to Paula on the run, she doesn't have a weak leg and can run with the best in the world. Bummer that the dynamics of this bike course drained her for the run.
Another top notch video. Little bit of everything in this one. Love when other athletes pop up. Its like when Batman turns up in a Superman film. Really enjoy these glimpses into That Triathlon Life.
Thank you for the shots of the Jr triathlete on your team. He has been training hard and your videos have helped him achieve is goal of winning his age group at Challenge Miami. And even though he is just 11, he was the fastest Jr in all age groups 11+. And being on Paula's team was a dream of a lifetime. You 2 are the best.
I really like what Paula said, she’s honest and I think that resonates with a lot of people. When you aren’t feeling it, quitting seems like a fantastic idea lol but then you tell yourself that’s silly and to push to the finish. I think we can all relate to that. I can also relate to the heat. Today was the first warm day we have had and I almost died on a 5k recovery run lol Question: Does the Specialized feel a lot different than the Trek? What would you say is the biggest difference?
It’s fun to tag along as you guys race. I always find the mental prep is an extremely important part of a successful race as the other components. You have a contagious laugh Paula.
Thought I had missed my fav video of the week. Went back to UA-cam at 7pm, and BOOM! There it was. Don't worry too much about this week's results, you can't win them all. And some of us have never won any race ever. We only have just one option, do it for the love of the sport. You just need to do what we all have to do. Regroup head down and move forward. Great athletes, with a great attitude, and a fab UA-cam channel, oh and merchandise to boot. Stay safe, see you next week. Much love from across the pond in the UK.
Eric, another wonderful video! It took me a couple of views to understand Paula’s palm tree joke, but it was hilarious once I got it! Paula, thank you for being so open about what didn’t go so great in your race. I did my second ever triathlon a couple weeks ago, and absolutely crashed on the run. Combination of heat (30 degrees C plus high humidity), and my shoes being too tight from said heat. On the one hand it’s comforting to see even the pros have off days. But even more than that I love seeing your determination and perseverance to bounce back!! Keep it up, and I look forward to hearing about your next adventures!
Thanks for the candid race recap and sharing your thoughts. Great job both of you and keep at it, you represent the best in triathlon. You guys are doing it right.
Way to keeper goin you two^^ It looked like a tough race for sure. Great experience for the mental aspect of the race and to build for races to come. I love following your adventures from little ole Courtice, Ontario. Eric, Paula, Heather and Wattie keep me churning over the km's both outside and in. Thanks gang^^ Big love, eh!
Congratulations on your performance. It couldn't have been easy after Daytona, and it couldn't have been easy making this video. I can only speak for myself but I looked forward to the post-race recap and I'm thankful you posted it. I enjoy watching you two, it's sort of my treat at the end of the week. Some weeks I don't watch for the only reason that I like to let them build up so I can have more. I'm not an athlete. I have never been. I'm a 46 (soon to be 47) year old woman who enjoys running, biking and cycling but has to work a day job. Hopefully when I get my do-over I will get lucky and end up a triathlete. Kudos to both of you. And .. my god, THE COFFEE.. I've found my kindred spirits.
Your transparency around the highs and lows of the life of a professional triathlon life is so genuinely appreciated! We can feel the palpable stress that a lost bag and the pressure to perform brings, you both handle it so evenly. All athletes deserve grace on the days when the race doesn’t go your way, especially pros! Can’t wait to cheer you both in person in StG!! And, that Lionel intro is going to be hard to beat...
Great video thanks as I am sure there is soooo much to do! Keep ur heads up and be proud of everything you do for the sport, you both give more than just racing! Paula my High School Senior and I watch this together and you are one of her hero’s in sport! Thank you for being part of our memories!
Thanks for making the time to edit a new vlog 👌 Very interesting to hear you talk about the feeling of your races! Always inspiring & amazing 🤩 Dream team!
Hey guys great great videos and great performance in Miami if Paula wasn’t feeling it but got a great result rest of the field better watch out ..... can’t wait for merchandise to arrive in the UK, see you next week take care
Well done, both of you! I'm new here and delighted to discover your vlogs! :) A real joy to watch! Say you likely know this already, but a lot of good new research on electrolyte consumption, and what's necessary in your level, and especially as your body changes- newer stuff on heading into your 30s and for me 40s too. Might be losing more than you think, in the heat to boot! Might be less about fitness and more about what happens when your electrolytes get tanked. You all are fantastic and can't wait to see what's ahead, great things assured!
You two are killin’ it! It’s helpful to see you both looking forward. It was super fun to watch the race Friday, and it was even more fun to see you guys push yourselves!
Way to stick through that windy bike and hot run, Paula. Heat is no bueno. And thanks for letting us share in your amusement of the surgery tree. Nice race and video, Eric. Glad there are more races on the horizon for you both, but I'm wondering if I'll miss the "casualness" of the 2020 videos some too! Have fun settling in to your new home.
Thanks, gang! Thanks for the honesty and insight in your post-race comments. It may not have finished how you wanted it, but I look forward to your next vids and seeing you work through what you’ve learned. Take care!
I can’t believe the last few weeks you two have had. Missing luggage too? The palm tree surely had an easier time. Love Paula’s analysis. I want to rewatch this video every time I mentally struggle in a race or workout just because of too much going on. Congrats on a solid performance! Have a great time in St. George; I’ll be cheering you on as usual.
Yep, Paula’s position needs serious aero work. 20-30 free watts easy. Head down head down head down !!! First one back after moving house. Well done!! Onwards and upwards
Love that Paula is raging about not winning a 'C' schedule race...rage training is the best!...But really just an altitude camp and some beet juice away from winning...new furniture can wait for an 'A' race...eyes on the prize!!
Another fantastic episode guys, beautifully edited, enjoyed watching both of your races; I stayed up super late to see the finish, pretty awesome racing all considered moving house and at a distance is a real mission. Looking forward to an exciting season for you both. Special edition T-shirt purchased thankyou! p.s loving the new wall colour!
Great vlog!! Was stoked to see it! It’s funny, my sage crewneck came in the same day as Challenge Miami, so I was able to wear it in your guys’ honour. The honesty y’all have about a tough race is really refreshing and your mindset and takeaway is so positive. Nice to see. 🤙🏼 Staying stoked for next week’s!
Well done guys, thanks for the honest assessments. The palm tree segment was epic! 🤣🤣🤣 Looking forward to seeing the hard work now that you’re settled into the new house. 👊
Congratulations both of you (also Heather) Paula seemed like a shy kid when she took the medal (Did you feel you didn't deserve it when you put medal over your shoulder?) I thought Eric was gonna do a blistering time looking at the splits in the race ( Bonus feature Eric literally got to run with Jan Frodeno). It is 1st race of the year and you got the big 1 in Daytona.Take it as a "tough day at the office" (THAT TRIATHLON LIFE). Well done and congrats again, also videos are great even your not so happy 1s. On to the next.
Fantastic editing. I'm amazed you got a video out at all and then to make it such a great one is insane. Well done. Keep up the good work both on tri and videos.
First race of the season, let's you know where you're at and what you need to work on the most. Eric's race started coming apart in the bike and Paula looked like she didn't have anything left by the time of the run. I'm sure both of you want to build as the season goes, not peak now. Enjoyed watching the race. Well worth 3$
Such a joy watching you both race on Friday. Thanks so much for putting yourselves out there and allowing us to follow your journey. (BTW, still would like the laundry episode. How do the pros manage training-wash-load? Are you scent bead people? Oxi Clean? The mid pack must know).
*Mind whirls trying to think about palm tree hospital jokes...* What do you call a palm tree hospital? HospiTALL? That's all I got. And that's not even much. Haha enjoy all your videos guys. Thanks x
The good part is your racing .... my life in NYC is still stuck in training mode. Next time I’m sure you guys will smoke the field! Good luck with house!!!
i don't think paula is that aero on the shiv... is the frame to big? am i the only one thinking this? maybe shorter cranks and a higher seat post position should flatten the back.
Hey friends! We got it up! Hit us with any questions you have, and please be gentle on the bike fits ;) We both just got new bikes (mine only 2 weeks ago) and we've got fits and wind tunnel time coming up in the next few weeks! We, the viewers, can't be anything but gentle with you guys, don't worry ;). Had a blast watching you, carry on training, you guys rock.
Just case you said it!! Hope u make a video vlog on that date!! Really enjoy the race and good luck guys!!
Eric whats that jogging shades you had on the first part of the vid? Your race suit is a real chameo! when wet it super slick, on dry it looks like swedish flag and your name kinda suggest you have viking roots mate... :D are u suggesting you are swedish? :D
Paula pretty proud of herself for that palm tree joke. We’re very proud of you Paula, but for other reasons.
I love people not from here seeing the trees. Welcome to Miami

A honest race assessment. I like it!
Another top notch video. Little bit of everything in this one. Love when other athletes pop up. Its like when Batman turns up in a Superman film. Really enjoy these glimpses into That Triathlon Life.
Really falling in love with your channel and the journey Eric and Paula, thanks for documenting this.
Glad to hear it, hope it's helpful 👍

Trek sucks. Just kidding. Kinda
It’s fun to tag along as you guys race. I always find the mental prep is an extremely important part of a successful race as the other components. You have a contagious laugh Paula.
Thanks for carving out time to get another great video done. Love the honest reflection from both of you on Miami. Onward to a great 2021 for you two.

Good video. Thanks for the insight. You guys rock. Don’t sweat it. You guys are living the life. Enjoy every moment of it.
Great job to both of you! Thanks for taking us along! Head up Paula! You are great at what yoy do!

I appreciate the honesty Paula, made me realise that even pros have there bad days.
Thanks for the candid race recap and sharing your thoughts. Great job both of you and keep at it, you represent the best in triathlon. You guys are doing it right.

Love the honesty - you guys are awesome
Great work by both of you! Love your videos and watching you guys train and race.
Great video thanks as I am sure there is soooo much to do! Keep ur heads up and be proud of everything you do for the sport, you both give more than just racing! Paula my High School Senior and I watch this together and you are one of her hero’s in sport! Thank you for being part of our memories!
Big fan of both of your race kits! Also s/o both of you on good races!

Great job you two, can't win them all. Just as much to learn from that bad days as there is from the good days.
New to the channel but congratulations both on a solid miami and love the content on the tube
Thanks and thanks for watching!
We were cheering y'all the whole way, watching from our tv in Virginia!!
You guys are legends. Thanks for showing up and teaching us AGers so much
Blizzard here in Colorado. This made my treadmill run off a 2:45 Zwift ride much easier. Thanks and see you in St George!
The bike scene and associated music was amazing/epic. The best bike video for challengemiami. They should learn from this for future race coverage.
You are the best. Thanks for all and good luck
Followed you both Friday 💪🏼👊🏼 thanks for making time to give us a vid this week. Now rest up.... and paint!
Love that Paula is raging about not winning a 'C' schedule race...rage training is the best!...But really just an altitude camp and some beet juice away from winning...new furniture can wait for an 'A' race...eyes on the prize!!
You are both incredible!!! Keep grinding and working! Eric as always putting insane content with so short time! Cheers from Brazil
Keep on living your life and living your dreams.

Great shooting and editing in this!
Love Paula's laugh: "Palm tree going in for surgery."
Tree surgery is a thing.
great video and enjoy your new bikes, you will both have the fits dailed in for Worlds
Honestly you guys did well. The new house and everything surrending it what not the best preparation mentally and physically for a race.
thanks for the video ericc
Fantastic editing. I'm amazed you got a video out at all and then to make it such a great one is insane. Well done. Keep up the good work both on tri and videos.

Great job! Esp after moving thats just stress x100
Anytime I see a pool with a slide I just want that to be my cool down! lol.
Haha I love Paula. Keep it up!

Still my favorite athletes. The next race it will be epic
Stay strong you two and you’ll bounce back💪🏼
Yall still did a great job!
Like the race analysis good or bad nice insights
The humidity down here takes a toll on your performance . the weather can be brutal .
Really great vid, congrats on muscling through
How was the coffee, did you get to try it????.... you guys are really great!!! Thank you for the pro am race, an unforgettable experience!!!!!
Lol.. what did they put in that cappuccino.
Love ya guys
The good part is your racing .... my life in NYC is still stuck in training mode. Next time I’m sure you guys will smoke the field! Good luck with house!!!
So what do you reckon, Eric+Paula - is 'oval racing' the future?
Hello TTL! Who was the change of bike brand for Paula? It feels different since the past race in Daytona?
Great race guys. Is paula position on the bike due to the lack of confidence because of the wind or not enough fitting on the new engine?
A little of both I’d say
Hey wait, what channel I'm wathcing again? :D hahah, epic start!
Was a nice surprise haha
The Palm tree is going in for surgery!!!
The palm tree was getting a rootectomy.
Thanks for being real!
What running shorts does Paula wear? Thanks!!!!
I wonder if Paula likes the Trek better.
Well the Trek doesn’t have a wind sail on the back on it 😂
@@andyashton3605 😂
I would have watched live but I could only find a Facebook stream. I'm not on Facebook unfortunately so couldn't watch it
There must be something good in that Homestead FL Panera coffee.
Pain cave time! Lets go
i dig Paulas humor :D
approx. what was the air and water temp for the race?
Hope the palm tree is doing ok.
On second :13 you have a Costa Rican Flag on your shoes rocking
Gotta keep your shoes in the carry on !
Do you pay for plane tickets with yourself, or do your sponsors cover it for you?
Where in the world are results posted?
i don't think paula is that aero on the shiv... is the frame to big? am i the only one thinking this? maybe shorter cranks and a higher seat post position should flatten the back.
just saw the end of the vlog, where you said you are going to work on paula's bike postion ;-) She can gain a lot of free watts!!
What watch do y’all wear and use?
I’ve been using Polar vantage, Paula has Garmin fenix I think, but we’re both trying out the new Wahoo Rival right now and digging it
