VeggieTales got SOULLESS!

After looking at all of LarryBoy's video games and making an Unnecessary Censorship video for the franchise, it was due time I properly focused on a full VeggieTales episode for review. And ohhhhhhh boy did this ex-Christian not realize how badly VeggieTales had fallen since I had stopped watching them; I picked Noah's Ark, the final episode of the original series run, and not only was it (unsurprisingly) filled with terrifying theological issues benefiting the source story, it was genuinely a lazy, unoriginal, uninspired work of art in the first place.

the first bible story people tell in bible school is noah's ark, and the last veggietales bible story was noah's ark. their first bible story they told was daniel and the lion's den.

this is great, very entertaining and great points. Most enjoyable part abt Noah's Ark was the soundtrack. I appreciate aspects but it's not one I revisit often.

I think there’s a difference between being “wrong and with bad messaging” and being “wrong and with bad messaging and also lacking even further in artistic merit because they weren’t even trying.” Now, whether someone should care about this distinction, or if “better art” is actually more harmful than shitty art because it spreads the bad message more successfully are very worthwhile conversations, and I won’t draw the line on where people should stand on those. In truth, this was just a great opportunity to dunk on Noah’s Ark; that one personally drives me up the wall because of how many layers of scientific illiteracy it necessitates to believe in.

some twitter user told Phil Vischer that he was going woke and that he would be claiming that the veggies identified as fruit soon, to which Phil responded, "well actually tomatoes and cucumbers are fruits, so my show is technically fruits identifying as vegetables."

Lol, I am aware of that. Phil is a lot more chill than a lot of the Christians I have seen, especially out of Christians who make Christian media. What makes it even funnier is that “vegetables” are literally a social construct. That sounds unintuitive, but what we consider a “vegetable” is purely a culinary term and doesn’t fall neatly into biological categorization, since we separate closer-related fruiting plants over savory vs sweet flavors
