@@pecobs - people still need to breathe when singing for a backing track (sometimes they have specific vocals recorded for these kinds of stages) I think the mics are up a little bit more on boca (you hear a couple hand claps etc) but I still don't think it's very much.

They put the stage vocal volume higher than the standard, which is more heard-able. Some groups who confident with their singing skills and vocal conditions also does this, which put the stage vocal almost as high as the pre-recorded vocals. Some groups who doesn't, would put the stage mic volume lower so the monitor/speaker that faces the audience will dominant the pre-recorded vocal 👍🏼

The group themselves get no say in it, and it's often a move made without regards to the groups talent. I'd say this stage the live mic feed is actually very low. It just disappoints me when idols do put in the effort to sing live and nobody gets to hear it bc the audio engineer goes "yeah let's turn that right down"
