He is my Father! This song is so healing for me since my biological father was an abuser! My God, my Father has taken me on the path of healing since I was saved 22 years ago! I now know how much He loves, protects, embraces, listens and is there every minute of the day for me! If it wasn't for His agape love, not sure where I would be! The beginning part always gets me, I am no victim. I'm a college student and for years it's always been pretty tough for me to make friends.... even since I was little. I also have what you would call social anxiety I get anxious and fear in my throat or stomach when I want to talk to others so Instead I look and just continue on with my head down. which has created this image that I am stuck up and people rarely speak to me. if yet someone would not judge but at least open the book and see that all along I'm a nice caring soul I'm just socially awkward. ... but I'm not a victim, I am who he says I am and one day he'll send that somebody or somebodies that will become my friend and I won't be as alone on campus!
TheVirtuousWoman pray against that social anxiety ..Jesus has already carried/defeated it for you on the cross you don't have to live with it ! He is mighty he can restore and heal anything!!! Loads of love Jesus is next to you! Remember that.

I've also struggled with social anxiety. So much so I went through campus like you are right now...People thinking I'm proud or stuck up or unapproachable. All the while it was me afraid of talking to people. Like freaked out. The thing about fear is that it will convince you that you have to do what you have to do on your own strength and that's the enemy's lie because we simply can't do it on our own, we need the Holy Spirit. Ask the Lord to connect you to some heavenly friends and he is faithful to do so. People who even get your silence. Always remember, it's through the Holy Spirit that we do anything even interact or start conversations. He will give you the right words to say. We are not victims of labels. I wish you Jesus! ❤
I've needed this song so much! I've felt hollow, numb, and suicidal for months now. And this song made me realize that my life means something. when I heard this song, I sang it loud as I could and just cried out to god.

I took pills in March of 2017 & overcoming the pain I was dealing with has brought me close to our Father. I am so glad I wasn't successful.

i understand your joy about this phrase, and i understand how it comfort us. but, we need to be more critical about the scripture truths. we need pay more attention in the second phrase that say: "He is who He says He is". why this define us! we participate of god's love, and god's grace, and your nature because of christ. thus joy need to convert to this truth, rather than who we are.
i'm sorry for the hard words if it is. I dont trust in my self when the issue is to born again, and participate of the god's nature. But I felt purely the Lord speaking to me, I was going through a difficult time and was talking to the Holy Spirit and He guided me that song, I felt in truth that the Father was not treating me like a victim, but he was calling me: daughter, when the phrase came from I am who He says I am, it is about Him having spoken to me that I am His daughter who is explicitly complementary to what He is who says He is in the word, my Father. I believe that I am shaped in the person of whom He is, we have been set free because we know the truth and He is the truth. Hallelujah. Love you, brother, cause Jesus loves you. Abba bless you. ♥

I have been feeling overwhelmed by ministry lately. And with that comes thoughts of how "I" cant do it or "I" don't have what it takes, and it's easy to get into the no-one sees/appreciates me mindset. Me this, me that.. pity party... Victim mindset.
And The truth is on my own I can't do it and on my own I don't have what it takes. BUT I am reminded that I'm called and graced for this. Jesus Warrior, I can really relate. I feel like an orphan and a victim at times, (even tho I know that that’s not true in God’s eyes) because my father committed suicide. Coming out of this orphan and victim mentality is been quite a process. I just heard this just today from our Church’s praise and worship. I was in tears and my heart was overflowing with joy by hearing this wonderful song. I struggle to stay strong-believing the truth about what God says about me, vs. what I oftentimes default to: the enemy’s lies and a victim mentality.
I listened to song for the first time last night and absolutely fell apart sobbing. I have had some extremely painful loss in my life, and even tho I am a Christian and have been for many years, the pain and residual effects still come to the surface at times. The tears that came were so cleansing and I felt Jesus holding me through it a way that has never felt more feel. A huge breakthrough. Praise God for this song and the work He’s doing through this band!

I am the only parent and single parent of 3 in a praise team made up of 5 college students ages 18-21 years old. They all sing and play one or more instruments and worship skillfully before their God. But i just got kicked out of our church praise team using my 3 little kids as an excuse. I have endured a lot for two years now with this group telling myself this is God training me on becoming an expert on forgiving people and growing in grace. I told myself am humbling myself before my God so he can lift me up in his own time...this has help me endure a lot over time. Well, suddenly last week it was decided my 3 young kids that i have always brought to practice for two years are a disturbance to the practice and if i don't get a babysitter where i can leave them at...i should not come to practice and if i don't come to practice, no singing for me. Well, am hurting and have given the pain to Jesus and have the confirmation in my spirit it's time to move on with my life...Please pray for me for grace to develop my worship ministry skillfully both vocally and instrumentally...please pray for me people. God bless you all

I love this song! I found it this morning and I needed it! I went through four months of chemo and 33 days of radiation and after awhile I began to feel like a victim of medicines being "put upon" me. And I struggled daily with this thought. But this song of liberty reverberates in my soul! Thank you and the Holy Spirit for giving you this song for us!
