I had an AL game where the WM Sorcerer spent the whole first 20 minutes of a session hitting on the bar maid, nat 1 the charisma check, WM Surged an Advantage roll and then the tavern poofed in a roaring fiery explosion. I’m so happy It’s either good or Self, not bad, really bad and aweful.
Yea, definitely takes a load off of the DM (and party) knowing the WM Sorcerer isn’t going to derail the entire campaign with a couple of unlucky dice rolls. lol ~ Tyler
The playtest version of Favored Enemy that passed with flying colors was the playtest 2 version where it removed concentration from Hunter's Mark. Playtest 6 had a Favored Enemy version where Hunter's Mark received free casts equal to WIS. modifier. The spell only dealt additional damage once per turn but scaled with higher level spell slots. The Favored Enemy version printed in the 2024 PH was never tested in 15 months. If we're counting playtest votes this version received zero. Then you build several features of the class around it-why? I'm not going to go through the myriad of things wrong with this class because I agree I might just be looking at the class differently than others. I have played multiple editions and the Ranger I would like to see has more elusiveness than this version. I'm merely going to ask you to look at the classes feature by feature and rank the classes 1 through 12. Where does the Ranger end up? If it's higher than 10th-12th I would love to know why.

I think I’m sticking to 2014 with Xanathar’s Guide (no Tasha) and my house rules to make 5e a little more 1e feeling.
Are you going to cover the D&D Direct announcements? Would love to hear your take.
Absolutely! Will be next week’s main topic :)
