The slow and meditative pace is evocative. Like taking a stroll along Parisian streets being mesmerized and seized by deep thoughts.

Simplement divin.

Sorry about that typo Sara-Alice Ott
Sort of like Eric signing his name with a “K” instead of the sea his mother used to his name. I’m just not use to hyphenated names or what they even mean. Your ability to replicate the sound pleases me more than you could imagine & for that I thank you dearly.

She is a painter here, we must see through hearing. The choice of tempo for the first Gnossienne is entirely convincing; she gives the famed first Gymnopédie only the motion needed to unroll the canvas (or is it a scroll) of Satie's few but perfectly chosen notes; the pace she finds to unveil the tthird Gnossienne's poised sadness, shown in the brief ascents immediatedly countered by the same notes in mirrored descent, all makes a picture of a heroic twilight, a gentle but deeply felt farewell.

I discovered Satie through Orson Welles in 1977. The Immortal Story is a poignant little movie that is like a fairy tale (with a bit of darkness, though). The soundtrack of Satie was the perfect cherry on the cake creating the right atmosphere: surreal, but intense. Since then I looked for a performance that could give back the feeling of the movie. Finally Alice came with this performance, slow, subtle, intriguing, intimate. Thanks Alice, all my gratitude. What a lovable pianist you are.

Dear Alice, dear "PIANIST ???" You already dress for a fashion magazine "VOGUE"! When will you get naked for "PLAYBOY"? Alice Sara Ott - Show & PR industry, money making machine! The Telegraph 29 Mar. 2015 By Anna van Praagh ..."Alice Sara Ott gets a lot of attention for her looks and her quirks - but it is her unique musical personality that will keep her at the top ... She looks like a supermodel, often takes the stage in a ball gown and bare feet and, she tells me, has a great fondness for neat scotch. ... “The world of classical music is a very hard world and the people who survive are just a few. One minute you are very popular, four years later no one has heard of you. It could all be over tomorrow. That’s what I want to avoid. I want to be around in 20 or 30 years, doing what I love, I don’t want to be a shooting star.” ... With her elfin features, porcelain skin and jet black hair, she is breathtakingly beautiful, and not averse to posing for photo-shoots highlighting that beauty. Does she feel under pressure as a female artist to exploit her sex appeal? ... “I know where my limits are,” she says crisply. “If I do a photo-shoot I must feel comfortable. I know what I will do and I know what I won’t do.” ... She believes that the classical music world is far more egalitarian than it once was. ... Are her love of whisky (she favours Talisker, Laphroaig and Lagavulin ), her habit of warming up her hands before a concert by solving the Rubik’s cube (she can complete it within a minute), and her trademark bare feet simply ways of making sure she stands out in a crowded market? No, nothing so calculated she says. ... “There’s no commercial reason for performing in bare feet. It makes me comfortable and it gets hot under the spotlight so it’s nice to feel the cold pedals on my feet.” ... The Rubik’s cube is practical and the whisky - well, she just happens to like single malts. ... However, such quirks do help make her more - dread word - “accessible” to audiences that might not normally be attracted to classical music and that is something about which she is passionate. ... “I want to remove the notion that classical music is just something for rich educated people,” she says. “It’s not. You don’t have to be educated to enjoy classical music, you get educated by listening to it.” ... “That’s why for me it is so important to be a really good musician rather than someone who just looks good on stage,” she muses, “Because then I am replaceable. If I have a unique musical personality, I hope that people will wait for me.”

@@mariodisarli1022 Better that she wear sackcloth and ashes? The "Ball Gown " is an exaggeration as most women pianists have always been in gowns. She is demure, has never been an exhibitionist, such as those wearing mini dresses or clothes accenting breasts. "Her unique MUSICAL personality will keep her on top". What classical soloist does not have " quirks"? Of the many musicians I know, have played with ( both pros and amateur) including those who are Julliard grads have quirks, it may be the reason they chose a musical career. Her playing speaks for itself. She is a pleasure to watch, mostly for her concentration and musical passion , communication with the conductor and orchestra. Her phrasing is impeccable. Are you a pianist? Do you play an instrument? Are you aware of how difficult it is for classical musicians to reach her skill level and have a career? Jealous of her feminine beauty? I think your comment says more about you. LISTEN to her, don't watch if it upsets you so much.

I too admire the person of Alice Sara Ott, and she is certainly a most talented pianist. Tho' not the complete virtuoso that a Yuja Wang is, I find it interesting that in artistic ways they are opposites (tho' both nice and talented, beautiful young women and serious musicians). If Alice has a fault interpretively, it is with too slow tempos', as in this Satie. Yuja's biggest fault can be her too fast tempi.
Now, if both were prone to doing this all the time, it would be a real negative. But they are too intelligent as pianists for this-the majority of their performances are well within the composer's intentions. And by saying 'fault', that is indeed an interpretive choice that many may actually like. With Satie (or sometimes even Chopin), being leisurely most certainly creates a mood appropriate to the music if not always the notation. If I had a choice, I will always choose mood...

Genius. In place and in time, anticipating barbarianism caused by a system based on unceasing growth of power. Emptiness in His music corresponding to Chopin's ideas, but Satie is empty. Beauty but empty- in purpose. He represent circle of drained culture. He is arrogant. He treats Music as a form of play-utility. He takes seriously tutorship of His fellow friend Karol Marx and He explain in it to listeners.
Music is no matter, Your live is no matter. Lets make money flow.
