Thank you very much. This worked even with my cracked black screen. I held down the Vdown and power until it restarted, then quickly pushed the Vup and Bixby and power button to get to factory reset. Sweet!

It does not work for me. When i press the three buttons simultaneously after turning my phone off, it just restarts my phone. No matter how long i press the 3 buttons, my phone just restarts normally and goes back to asking me the pin number, and the recovery mode screen never appears...
The button holding didnt work for my note 8 and it would just restart the phone without going into recovery. Instead I had to hold (power, home, and volume down) and it took me to recovery and worked. Thanks.

using the keys held down how long shoud it take? I never get an android symbol after 10 or even 20 seconds...the screen does black and nothing else happens

Hi Sergio, Thank you for this video, very clear and very efficient ! I met issue with My Note8 as a kind of Computer virus : It's open every min ad pages in my Chrome and it completely hectic... Then it's why I'm foreseing either a Factory hard reset or maybe a Soft reset... I wonder to know what do you suggest in my situation, it seems differences between soft and Hard reset is not too much... then how to decide between one or the other ? Hello, Both are Factory resets. The only difference is one you do through the settings and the other method is for people who cant get into their phone.

Hey, my note 8 is not letting me charge my phone because it says it has humidity, but it's been like this for about 2 weeks, and not it doesn't disappear. DO YOU THINK THIS WILL HELP?
The thing is if your phone already on you need the code to turn it off to be able to factory reset from the buttons but if you push the power and voulume up/down at the same time it restarts the phone so if you as soon turns off apply the reset buttons it works

Place your phone insid a jar with dried rice for 24 hours. The rice will suck the moisture from the device.
