I’m in l&d waiting for my baby. It was so stressful getting to this point and I have a support person that’s not so supportive . Despite everything I’m focusing on meeting my baby. I’m so excited to meet him 💕❤️☺️
I want to say cervical dilation can be so daunting to most pregnant women. With my first and last baby I sat at 3 cm dilated for a month! Nothing happened. I was so upset. With my second I was closed and thick, literally 2 days later boom I went into labor. So just a friendly reminder don’t get discouraged if you go in at 38-39 weeks and your Dr says you’re not dilated at all, I promise that doesn’t mean anything bad. Labor can happen at any given moment. And if you’re like me where your cervix tends to dilate easily but it takes forever for your uterus to get the picture and contract properly then I also promise it’s okay, your baby will come when it’s time.
I'm so happy you touched on informed consent in pregnancy and labor! I feel like every mama needs to know this and that their voice should be the most valued in their birthing space ❤
You are amazing and have seriously saved me so much worrying and anxiety. I don’t have a mom or anyone to talk to about this stuff so you answering all these questions in a calm and supportive way has been great. Thank you for what you do 💕 due July 3, 2021
I just want to say that I absolutely LOVE the inclusive language you use throughout all your videos. It is the cherry on top of the great honest, thoughtful advice!
I’m located in Massachusetts, I had to really advocate for myself in order to have my husband allowed into my appointments. I’ve been “seeing” a therapist since the beginning of my pregnancy and she was HUGE in getting my husband into my visits. I felt like a pain in the ass but I hope my advocating for myself will help other new parents get the support they need. Yes covid is scary and we have to take precautions but having the other parent involved is also really important too, and there has to be a balance.
I've had two miscarriages and this is my third pregnancy. It is absolutely normal to be a bit reserved with your heart. You will get more attached as the pregnancy progresses... just be easy on your heart.
Yesss.. I've had 4 pregnancy losses, this last one was in April 2020 with twins. I am now 34 weeks with my second, a boy, and it didn't stop being hard on my nerves till around 26 weeks ❤️
When I had my one and only, a week shy of a year ago, I loved my first nurse and was so sad when she had to leave but I asked her for someone like her (the perfect mix of happy excited and chill focus) she did just that, they were both amazing!
I'm 26 weeks and starting to get the nursery set up while listening to this video. A Nurse Zabe birth class would be amazing, just saying. Hope you're able to start feeling baby move more and connect with baby more soon!
I totally wrote the Daisy award thingy with the teeny pencil they gave me for circling food choices xD I had no idea it was such a big deal but my nurse just held me while I cried after my son died and it just meant so much to me 🥺I'll never forget it.
When I had my other babies I got the nurses tumblers that color corresponded with baby’s gender and inside I filled them with (gum, hand sanitizer, tissues, lip balm, mints, lotion, a bar of chocolate and a Starbucks gift card). I tied string around them with a little card as a thank you. I’ve done it with every baby and will do so again with this baby. I think nurses do a lot of hard work! I personally know they’re with you during that time more than your own Dr. They work long hours and I’m sure they appreciate the gesture just to be recognized for all they do. Plus all the hard work of schooling they go through to even become a nurse, it’s grueling, I know as I’m in school getting my Bachelor’s in nursing and it’s hard!
The office is my fav!! Also wanted to say I'm pregnant after 2 losses back to back last year and I was depressed and I'm was sickly nervous at the thought of laboring again. I had 2 births first was an epidural that didn't work and then a natural birth that I got to the hospital right in time for and I felt so much better after my natural birth that I want to do that again but that pain 😳 I found your UA-cam channel today and I have watched so many of your videos and I'm feeling so prepared for labor. All my kids are 5 years apart but you've reminded me how AWESOME my nurses were at my last birth. I'm feeling so much more confident ❤ thank you
I’m due June 3rd (though I suspect earlier) and I was terrified because I miscarried over a year and a half before and told I couldn’t have kids. It’s only been the last 4 weeks I’ve been able to get attached so I can’t get hurt again. But watching your videos have helped phenomenally! ❤️
The ending!😂🤣.my husband is getting a vasectomy to after this baby. I know people that got their fallopian tubes tied and recovery is just horrific and risk of infection is greater so I was told. Someone I know got a bad infection after her tube surgery..i know uncommon but I did read vasectomy is easier. My husband was reluctant but I told him if I can go through two Pregnancies and births your going for a quick 20 min procedure. So he finally agreed, he better follow through 😅
My husband is so excited for his vasectomy! He'd get it today if he could. But I agree, vasectomies are much easier to recover from and have less issues post-op. I would only tie my tubes if I needed with a cesarean birth and they were already in there.
@@Nurse_zabe yes exactly my gf and I had this conversation..she's getting her tubes tied but just because they're already in there(scheduled c section) Makes sense to me☺️
My mom had her tubes tied, and here I am.... (she also had scar tissue due to a previous car accident, drs said that’s why the tubes didn’t really tie properly). My brother and sister in law did both, tubes tied and vasectomy- they’re super fertile people 😂
I know you said these videos take a lot of time for you so i just wanted to let you know how much they have helped me and ease a lot of questions i have running through my mind during my first pregnancy. So thank you for taking the time to do them!
I’m pregnant with baby #5, my rainbow baby I miscarried in July and I feel the same way, I’m having a hard time bonding with this pregnancy I am 18 weeks as well, due June 4. Congratulations 🎊 and thanks for your videos
I'm due on June 4th and I'm also a 6 on the enneagram! Now I totally understand why I've basically been binge-watching your whole channel, lol. Thanks for doing this; being so open and vulnerable and helpful and supportive. It's been super informative and anxiety-reducing for me 😊
I feel you. I have 4 healthy children but then I suffered an early miscarriage at 8 weeks (baby stopped growing at 6 weeks) and it was traumatic to say the least. I ended up in the ER because I passed out from all the blood loss. I didn’t even mean to get pregnant so soon after but I did on my next cycle and while so far everything had been good and baby is even measuring a week ahead I’m still nervous and I’m 17 weeks! I’m still at that point where I haven’t had another ultrasound yet, I don’t feel baby move consistently yet and everyday I’m still anxious, every Dr appt I worry I’m going to receive bad news. I don’t know if I’ll ever feel safe during this pregnancy until the baby is in my arms.
Any advice to those of us who live far away from the hospital? I live about an hour and 20 minutes from the nearest hospital that has a maternity/delivery department. I don’t want to go to be sent back home if home is so far, or sent to labor in the car until they take me. How will I know when I am far along enough to be admitted if going home isn’t a good option?
I am 22 weeks today and your videos make me feel so empowered. We are also not finding out the sex of the baby and excited for this opportunity to have life give us the ultimate surprise.
Best to you and your baby. Be careful if you read any medical reports because I accidently found out our baby is a girl and I'm happy but I dont like having to keep it a secret in order to go along w letting it be a surprise for hubby.
I’m ten weeks today. My family knows and I can’t wait to tell my coworkers. I’m waiting till the first trimester is over even though I think my little bean will be okay.
Hey I know this is off topic, but I was diagnosed with Preeclampsia at 30 weeks and I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant. Could you make a video explaining it? It would be super helpful. Love your vids!
YESSSSS to Taking Charge of Your Fertility! It's wildly fascinating - I thought it would be like reading a textbook but I read the whole thing so fast. Love it.
Thank you so much for these videos! I’m 37 weeks pregnant and haven’t been able to take in-person classes. I feel overwhelmed a lot but you help me feel a lot more capable. Thank you thank you!
I’ve watched your videos for a while, but I just found out I’m expecting.. and I’m binge watching!!! We’ve been TTC for 4 years, and we finally have our rainbow baby!!😭 I love your content so much!!
Coping in labor: That point about keeping your jaw & hands relaxed through contractions was THE way I managed to go unmedicated with my first baby. I made it my mission to just focus on that and he was born in 3 hours! Hoping for a carbon copy of his birth for baby #2 in 3 months. :)
My provider had a 6 week class over Zoom and it was honestly so much fun and sooooo helpful to connect with our amazing teacher and classmates in real time. Highly recommended if you still have time! Our educator was also able to give info specific to where I will be delivering, what they will and won’t provide, etc.
Thank you for all your videos!! I'm a FTM due 4/19/2021 and have been watching your videos nonstop! They are so helpful and informative 🥰 I'm so happy for your pregnancy as well!! Congratulations 💜
I have thyroid issues High blood Blood pressure as well and I also have Pregnancy diabetes😭 it took me 2 years to conceive my baby girl I’m Do in 15 days from today I’m so excited to meet her But on thing I can say that helped me Conceive my baby is that I stop lifting at the gym ,not drinking protein drinks and eating healthy while relaxing 30 mins before bed time. I’m a little nervous to give birth not going to lie do to all my health but I believe in god and he will Guide me through this I know he will🙏🏼😭
So I've been hearing a lot about how I shouldn't even bother writing a birthing plan... from what you're saying it sounds like I should go back to that? Are they helpful or no? I have been hearing a lot from other moms about how they'll just tell me you can't plan labor so the hospital doesn't want you to bother and I shouldn't get my hopes up about anything, so I should just not care :(
I think it can be beneficial that you write down your hopes for your labor and birth, while understanding that you can't actually 100% plan birth. But you can, and should, have preferences for you birth! And those preferences can be: I WANT AN EPIDURAL!!! Whether you write these down or just think about them before you delivery, doing research on what can happen in birth and what you desire will better prepare you for birth. And honestly, it doesn't matter what the hospital wants as far as birth plans go. It's your birth and your baby. It is totally ok if your birth preferences change in the process, but it is your nurse's and doctor's job to keep you and your baby safe while also working to honor your desires and working with you every step of the way in supported shared decision making.
I have heard this a lot too and how if you get too specific that it can be read as not trusting your medical team. I pretty much said in mine that I would like to avoid any medical interventions unless necessary and to please discuss with my husband and I any recommendations before procedures are performed. I also thanked them and gave them a gift pretty much on arrival. I was told it was the best birth plan they had ever seen (in the sense that it was not anything set in stone or too detailed). I was induced nearly two weeks overdue with my first (no epidural) and had totally unmedicated births with babies two and three.
I am PRAYING you can breastfeed!!!!! I am 6 months into exclusive pumping and I’m dying, but I’m stubborn and I was determined to give baby my milk. But I couldn’t imagine EP with a crazy toddler! Wishing you the best of luck!!!
Any tips on how to get over the EXTREME fear of labor? I’ve been having labor nightmares since I was a teenager it terrifies me to the point where I almost decided not to ever have children 😰
Your body was MADE for this! It knows what to do even though you don’t know what to do. Saying positive affirmations about labor, your baby, and body has really helped me change my mentality. Woman have been doing this since the beginning of time. It’s crazy how women gave birth in the past vs now. This is the best day and age to have a baby with the technology we have! You got this momma!
Love your videos. I’m currently pregnant with my daughter / second child.(27weeks) Before I fell pregnant I had two miscarriages and felt torn apart and struggled once I had fallen pregnant. It was only a few weeks ago I felt her move that I relaxed and started to enjoy the pregnancy. Sending hugs. Xx
I thought trying for her was hard until I fell pregnant then I realised the pregnancy was just as challenging. She kicks like mad and has an attitude to show lol 😂. Xx
Sometimes latent labor can be really intense and longer than 24 hours. My contractions started Thursday afternoon and I didn’t get to 4cm dilated until Saturday night. My son was born at 10am Sunday.
There's a really great free app called Abridge that you can use to record your appointments. It will not only record audio but it'll also create a searchable transcript and create highlights of the most important points. You can also share the info with other people. It's a great way to keep from missing anything while still being fully present in your appointments, especially those you have to attend in person and alone due to the pandemic.
I took so many classes and had a doula so when the time came and I was having contractions I labored at home for 3 hours then my husband said let’s go to the hospital. I thought it was too soon based on advice like the one you’ve given. All things say that a 1st time mom like me would most likely be in labor for a long time. I got to the hospital at 5:30am and gave birth at 6:21am. To anyone who is soon to labor, it’s better to go to the birthing place (hospital or elsewhere) sooner rather than it be too late like it was (almost) for me. In all, I was in labor from 1am to 6:21am when I actually gave birth. Yes, this is rare but it can happen to anyone. And I’m not in any way athletic or super active person. I slept and relaxed a lot during pregnancy so everything pointed to me having a long labor. YOU JUST NEVER KNOW!
Hi! I’m currently 39 weeks pregnant and terrified because I’ve just been told my baby moved into a posterior position after being in the perfect position throughout my whole pregnancy. Would you please be able to make a video on this? There’s not much reassuring content on youtube for it and it’s very nerve wracking❤️
@@العمليةإئ are actually moved back into perfect position a couple days before i went into labor. I tried everything to move her and she didn’t want to so i just made sure to sleep on my left side and she turned! Unfortunately my labor went downhill but fort completely different reasons
I'm a worse case scenario person too! Ugh makes me feel bad, until you said its ok. Also I'm feeling super guilty for not being as house cleaning and cooking active I'm 10 weeks pregnant. No previous loss but I feel like I'm protecting my heart too. Took 6 years to have this baby!
I'm 19.1 weeks pregnant with our 2nd. I'm watching tons of labor and delivery videos to try to remember how everything goes. Our oldest is 7. So it's been a while. 😂
My eldest was almost 6 when we had our second this past March and I feel like I literally forgot everything. Even now, we’re expecting his Irish Twin in 6 weeks and I’m finding it hard to remember exactly how labor feels lol it’s crazy how that happens.
Ok, not aggressive but didn't know a better way to phrase. What is the point of a labour nurse? What do you do? It is normal in the in to have a midwife and they do all the prenatal and delivery and all the monitoring. Dr's tend to only come in when there is an atypical presentation or complication x
So we don’t often have a true midwife model in the US. There are definitely midwives but they often function more like OBs in the hospital (home births and birthing centers function more like your midwifery model.) So labor nurses admit the patients, monitor and chart on the fetal heart rate tracing, help the patient manage labor, push with the patient and report any atypical findings to the doctor/midwife. The doctor/midwife performs interventions as needed, helps make decisions in case of emergency, actually catches the baby and placenta and does any repairs for tearing.
@@Nurse_zabe Thanks for replying, I thought it would be something like that, part nurse part maternity support. I've just realised that my comment autocorrected uk for some reason. Love watching your videos, although it can sometimes be hard as someone who has lost multiple pregnancies and may not be able to have another x
Hey Nurse Zabe - I love your videos, I find them so soothing (as I am in week 32 of my surprise pregnancy during covid at age 40). My last child was born 9 years ago, so the birth classes were in abundance. Do you have any recommendations for good birth and newborn classes from UA-camrs that I can watch with my new spouse (this is his first child at age 43).
Hi Nurse Zabe, thank you so much for all you are doing for us. There is no UA-cam video about Inguinal Hernia during pregnancy. Please give us some information about it. What happens during labor with it? Thank you 🙏
I'm on baby #3... With 10 years between this one and my youngest... But I find I'm more anxious about delivery specifically this time, which is surprising to most people.... But I'm so much more educated this time, I so badly want to do it without pain relief and for sure a vaginal birth... I've never had a csection in the past. But I find myself worrying that this being the birth I'm most prepared for being the one that something out of my control happens... Breast feeding is also very important to me. I breast fed both my older children, but baby #2 went much better than my first... With my first my milk supply diminished by the end of the first month, I'm worrying about that happening again... I'm hoping it was just due to inexperience and not knowing everything I could do to help it. But, all that long winded comment to say... Just cause we're on subsequent pregnancies doesn't mean those anxieties and worries lessen necessarily, and that's ok.
We're not finding out what we're having either. You so seldom get real surprises nowadays, so we're taking it. My mother is not at all happy about it- "how can you plan?! *insert wailing and gnashing of teeth" I told her "what does knowing the sex change? Nothing." We have a boy name and a girl name picked out, and all you need is like a month of gender neutral sleep and plays or onesies, and then you can get gender specific stuff.
Jetted tub in the hospital, normal size bathtub at home! I have a video all about using water for labor relief! ua-cam.com/video/6Pk1yn2UNE0/v-deo.html
I used the spectra! I will probably stick with it and try to get my willow to work well for me when I’m at work. If I do end up exclusively pumping again I will probably buy a new spectra since that one’s motor for a ton of use!
Can you talk about postpartum hemorrhage? I hemorrhage pretty badly with my daughter, and I'm almost 25 week pregnant and am nervous about it happening again this time. Thanks ❤
Absolutely love your videos! Thank you for shedding light on so many different topics for Moms! The question I have for you: what it your opinion on taking Tylenol while pregnant? I am 14 weeks along and I have had the WORST tension headaches. I'm worried about taking Tylenol while pregnant......any thoughts?
I don’t know the “official” answer, but I asked about this at my 12 week appt last week because I’m having awful headaches and they said I can take regular or extra strength Tylenol as directed, with caffeine. They said there was no issue in doing that for headaches!
I did an info graphic for a birth plan and was actually complimented on it by several nurses. It had labor on one side and newborn care on the other. Of course like 3 things were irrelevant by the time I got there cause my water broke when I was 3cm, but the after delivery stuff was good to have
@@Nurse_zabe Thanks! I actually can’t take credit for the idea, I modified the free template from mama natural. I just edited it in word with text boxes so I could specify options that weren’t listed, like ‘yes please, epidural, but this medicine not that one cause I don’t react well’ exct. Hope this helps! www.mamanatural.com/birth-plan-template/
Can you please do a video on fast labours please I'm currently on pregnancy number 3 and my first baby was 6 hours from first contraction to delivery and second was only 1 hour 40 minutes from first contraction to delivery and is it always the case that Labour gets quicker the more babies you have?
My fiancé: “are you gonna do to me what Pam did to Jim?” Me: “wait until the last minute to go to the hospital? Yeah absolutely, I’ll go before the 2 minute mark though. But imma labor at home as long as possible fam” 🤣🤣 Also, I totally follow you on IG but your stories hardly pop up for me 😔😔 I gotta start going to your page to see them so they start popping up in the front for me!
If someone is walking around at 4 cm for weeks do you have different suggestions on when to go to the hospital if you want an epidural? This happened to me last time I was 4 cm for 3 weeks and got to the hospital at 5 and they sent me home. Well I didn’t get back in time for the epidural.
It's so tricky and really hospital dependent. My hospital would not have sent you home at 5cm's, especially if you wanted an epidural. I would chat with your doctor but also let them know when you get there that you want an epidural and missed it last time. Let them know that you are desiring to walk around for an hour or two and then be rechecked. You can always walk around outside the hospital too if they won't admit you!
Hey how do you count the length of your whole labour (not just the active labour stage? I went into prodomal labour then slowly dilated and effaced for 17 days until I had my baby... Help please! :)
Typically we start counting labor start time from when significant cervical change occurs with consistent contractions. 17 days 😩😩. You are such a trooper!
@@Nurse_zabe I was almost 5cm before they induced me for pre-eclampsia so do I count those 17 days?? 😯 I know my active labour was 2hrs 2mins. Even my midwife was like umm how are you still having real contractions and dilating this whole time! She had to tell others as she was shocked as my first baby too
My baby is 6 weeks and I had to supplement w formula since day 1 Due to high bilirubin. That was only the beginning of the downhill breastfeeding journey. She never latched well and I didn’t produce enough to just pump. Got her top lip frenulum cut and she still didn’t latch well. Ultimately had to give up breastfeeding. It was HARD for me but I was able to give it to God and let go of my pride, accepting formula. Also, I too had an anterior placenta and it was harder for me to bond w baby in the womb. It got better as I was in my 3rd trimester :-)
re: Breastfeeding - I highly recommend The Thompson Method. She's an Australian DR who did her phd in breastfeeding and has a lot of resources to assist all sorts of scenarios, including tonge and lip ties. She has a gentle approach.
I just bought the Thompson Method lecture series. One of my best friends is also pregnant, so we're going to watch the lectures together. Her approach really makes sense to me. I would be very interested to hear Elizabeth's thoughts on it.
@@Nurse_zabe Yes, I bought it for 50% off, so it's not terribly expensive. Tangentially related, do you have any experience with hypnobirthing? My mother, a retired old battle ax L&D nurse, thinks I'm being ridiculous for wanting an unmedicated birth. I told her about hypnobirthing and she looked at me like I just told her I was going to give birth in the forest using only moonwater. 😂If there's a hypnobirthing course/series you like, I'd love to know.
I'm giving birth in 3ish weeks. Please do a support person/partners video!!! My husband is clueless even though hes been going through the classes with me...I will say online courses dont seem to be as informational as I thought they would be. They also dont address how the partner can support you or take care of themselves or baby. I appreciate the focus on me but my husband needs it more at this point. I've been focused on this for 8 months while hes only now just realizing we are gonna have a baby soon...lol. he knew but it's starting to hit him now that I'm seriously nesting.
Can you do a video on twins and/or multiples? I'm 15 weeks into my first pregnancy and it's with twins. It has been really difficult finding information preparing for delivery and delivery of twins.
Question! So I am 6 days postpartum and am struggling with producing any milk. I finally saw a lactation consultant and she said that it is because I have PCOS. Could you talk about this and ways to help produce more even with PCOS?
Milk production can definitely be an issue with PCOS. But it also doesn’t have to be all or nothing. I’d try to make another appointment, maybe with a different IBCLC, who can help you make a plan to optimize your milk output and help you meet your goals for feeding your baby!
I just want to encourage women to be an advocate for yourself. I had to speak up for myself several times because they wanted to do a c-section with my second birth. They thought the baby was going to be over 10 lbs and she was only 9.3. I had a vaginal birth the first time without complications and just some 1st degree tearing. I wanted to see if my body could do it again naturally and without medication again. My girl came out in 4 pushes. No complications. No shoulder dystocia. Healthy baby. Only 2nd degree tearing. Her head was big and throwing off some of the ultrasound weight. They said my first baby was going to be 9 lbs and she was 7.8. I know that’s not always people’s situations, but I think we have to trust our instinct and know our body. I had to rotate through 6 OBs and one was determined to cut me open lol.
Thats way I watch these videos. To be educated. I'm not pregnant, would like to be soon. But if you think about it if your uneducated then you're going to get scared. What happens when you're scared? You're tensed. You are not relaxed. Something is trying to come out of you, its counter productive to not be relaxed lol
I love ALL of your videos! I'm currently 36 weeks im due feb 8th 2021 and I found out today that I have gestational hypertension and I will need to be induced at exactly 37 weeks 😬 of course the same way I came across your channel via youtube is also where I looked up more info on this new condition that I have and there was a doctor that said to say no! 😯 and wait until after 37 weeks but my midwife said my baby was 6 and a half pounds so it ok at 37 weeks because he's not at risk of low birth weight? I'm so confused as this is my first child & idk what to do 😫
Went to my 6 week postpartum appointment during exam was in Pain felt like paper cut inside plus I'm not walking straight since birth of my son since November! Was prescribed birth control and estrogen cream ...please any tips advice anyone 🙏 also had granulation tissue removed December 3rd. 😖😖😖
I had my first baby this December. I really want to sent my nurse a letter or gift or daisy award but i don’t remember her name! I feel so bad. I tried to remember it but there was so much going on. How can i figure out who my amazing nurse was during my delivery?
I feel you so hard on the breastfeeding thing. My last baby had a horrible tongue tie. It was one of the worse that the ent had seen. His whole suck swallow was disfuctional. Even after it was released, he had so many issues. I kept getting mastitis. He wasn't gaining weight. I had 2 toddlers and one was a 3 year old profoundly autistic child who had 40+ hours of therapy a week. I just couldnt. I pumped exclusivly. I lost so much precious sleep. Cried and cried over it. Like legit mourned over it. But made it 8 months exclusivly pumping. My goal was 6 months cause it was haaaaaaaard. Made it 8. I was happy with that. But also sad. And mad guilty. And the idea that this baby could come with latch issues again and i could have to exclusivley pump again makes me so anxious. I could cry just thinking about it. But id do it too. It would be devistating. But id do it again too. Right there with you mamma.
I have a question, hopefully you can answer it in your next video! I have had two pregnancies and two healthy babies delivered. However, my labors have been 5 ish hours and 2.5 hours, respectively. Would my next labor be even faster or is there no correlation?
So I talk about this in my video here: ua-cam.com/video/KvuI8d3Omj8/v-deo.html 2nd labors tend to be faster than #1. 3rd labors are a bit more variant or unexpected. Longer or shorter than #2. A bit of a wild card!
I loved not knowing the gender of my baby before delivery day. It really messed with people. A friend asked his wife she said she didn't know. When he saw me he asked (he thought we were just keeping it a secret)
I was 1cm at 3am and they only let me stay because I was scheduled for my induction appointment at 5am. Never got around to it. Had baby at 7am. First time mom. Made no sense. 😶
Im giving birth in 6 weeks. I wish you were my nurse 🥺 You make me feel safe

I've had two miscarriages and this is my third pregnancy. It is absolutely normal to be a bit reserved with your heart. You will get more attached as the pregnancy progresses... just be easy on your heart.
This is what I'm thinking and hoping for too. 💗
Yesss.. I've had 4 pregnancy losses, this last one was in April 2020 with twins. I am now 34 weeks with my second, a boy, and it didn't stop being hard on my nerves till around 26 weeks ❤️
@@Heyimvalarie18 , one day, one doctor's appointment, one little milestone at a time. Praying that all will be well with your precious baby boy❤
When I had my one and only, a week shy of a year ago, I loved my first nurse and was so sad when she had to leave but I asked her for someone like her (the perfect mix of happy excited and chill focus) she did just that, they were both amazing!
Yay! That’s how it should go!
I'm 26 weeks and starting to get the nursery set up while listening to this video. A Nurse Zabe birth class would be amazing, just saying.
Hope you're able to start feeling baby move more and connect with baby more soon!
One day I'd love to make one!!
I totally wrote the Daisy award thingy with the teeny pencil they gave me for circling food choices xD I had no idea it was such a big deal but my nurse just held me while I cried after my son died and it just meant so much to me 🥺I'll never forget it.
I'm so sorry for your loss! I'm glad you had a supportive nurse during such a hard time. ❤
Thank you for always using such inclusive language about birthing people and their partners. I hope others take note!
I’m trying! It’s important to me that everyone feels included when watching my videos.
I wasn’t aware of the Daisy award. Now I know, I hope my hospital participates so I can recognize my nurse and write her a nice letter.
My brother and sister in law did both, tubes tied and vasectomy- they’re super fertile people 😂
I’m due in June with twins . I try to stay positive
Congrats x2!!
That’s so exciting, congrats!! Best wishes to you for a healthy and safe pregnancy & delivery.

I’m due June 10th but will be having him at 37 weeks. This will be our 10th baby.

Good question. I'm in the same boat
I’m 29 weeks and I’ve waited to find out the sex till birth

Coping in labor: That point about keeping your jaw & hands relaxed through contractions was THE way I managed to go unmedicated with my first baby. I made it my mission to just focus on that and he was born in 3 hours! Hoping for a carbon copy of his birth for baby #2 in 3 months. :)

Xx
Yes, over the past few days I’ve been feeling tons of movement and I’m finally starting to feel more relaxed!
Totally! This is something called prodromal labor and it is the pits. I have a video coming out about it!!
That is so true! Things can go quickly too!

You are such a beautiful person inside and out, thank you so so much for what you do 💓
Ok, not aggressive but didn't know a better way to phrase.
Very true! Hoping you can find some peace among the anxiety. 💗
I’m a new labor and delivery nurse & I really enjoy your videos 🤍 congratulations on your soon to be addition to the family!

When you discuss discomfort during your own current pregnancy can you please rate the pain on the pain scale .
I can do that! Currently a 0 on 0-10 pain scale. But I don't really think. I can rate discomfort much more than that.
Can you mention about the Posterior labor, the Excruciating back pain associated with it
Hi, can you please elaborate on hydrotherapy.. like what did you use exactly? Thanks x

Thanks ❤

I wish you were every labor and delivery nurse!!
@@Nurse_zabe wait... So you are telling me I count my labour as 404 hours!!??? 😲😵
My baby is 6 weeks and I had to supplement w formula since day 1
Due to high bilirubin.
It is so hard when things do go as planned! 💗
re: Breastfeeding - I highly recommend The Thompson Method.
It’s 50% off right now. I might have to look into it
@@Nurse_zabe Yes, I bought it for 50% off, so it's not terribly expensive. Tangentially related, do you have any experience with hypnobirthing?
Yes x100000000!

Hey! Check out my postpartum sex video. It’s about more than just sex and great info from a pelvic floor PT!
I had my first baby this December. I really want to sent my nurse a letter or gift or daisy award but i don’t remember her name! I feel so bad. I tried to remember it but there was so much going on. How can i figure out who my amazing nurse was during my delivery?
Call and ask. They might be able to look in a delivery record or figure out the nurse based on your description!
I love your channel! I'm 30 weeks today! 70 short days til holding my little boy give or take...you look great!💖
So close!!!
I have a question, hopefully you can answer it in your next video! I have had two pregnancies and two healthy babies delivered. However, my labors have been 5 ish hours and 2.5 hours, respectively. Would my next labor be even faster or is there no correlation?
So I talk about this in my video here: ua-cam.com/video/KvuI8d3Omj8/v-deo.html
2nd labors tend to be faster than #1. 3rd labors are a bit more variant or unexpected. Longer or shorter than #2. A bit of a wild card!
@@Nurse_zabe thank you! I hope the next one isn't faster 🤦🤣
I loved not knowing the gender of my baby before delivery day. It really messed with people. A friend asked his wife she said she didn't know. When he saw me he asked (he thought we were just keeping it a secret)
You have been a great help with my pregnancy first time mum and from Australia so Summer for me
I was 1cm at 3am and they only let me stay because I was scheduled for my induction appointment at 5am. Never got around to it. Had baby at 7am. First time mom. Made no sense. 😶
I'm wondering if there is anything i can do to help labor get started!
