ITSFAAM Healthy Marriage Town Hall December 20, 2024

MANA's ITSFAAM* Healthy Marriage Cohort is a collective of community members who are committed to and passionate about healthy marraiges. The cohort organizes town hall discussions to talk about and uplift the characteristics of a healthy marriage based on the prophetic model, emphasizing mutual respect, love, compassion, and good communication. Panelists explore the importance of self-awareness, individual growth, and the role of premarital counseling in building strong marriages.

ITSFAAM, The Initiative to Strengthen Families of African-American Muslims, is a community-based project that was created after analyzing the results from a national survey done in partnership by MANA with other leading organization (Muslim Journal, Muslim Wellness Foundation, Al Ummah, and Conveners of Imam of WD Mohammad's community). The survey assessed the needs of the African-American Muslim community. The results showed that among the highest priorities was the need to strengthen African-American Muslim families in three areas: healthy marriages, young adult leadership, and youth engagement.
