Today I went to one of the biggest shopping malls in Germany Oberhausen It’s called the Westfield Centro mall this is for sure one of the biggest malls in Germany it feels like you are in any American mall there’s no difference they even have a lot of American stores and food places inside the mall a huge movie theater is right next to the mall nice restaurants on the promenade and at the end a huge Ferris wheel Which I had to try out it was amazing
I love Germany and her people. One of the nicest people I worked with back in the 1990s was a lady named Sibella Kent. She was from Germany and had so many wonderful stories. She passed back in 2005. I miss her. Peace to you GIV.
As an American my late Turkish father worked in Dusseldorf back in early 60's then back to motherland 1980's. When he visited me here in Florida he constantly spoke about how beautiful Germany was. Thanks for the nice video.
@funisda world 👍Thanks my friend!
@conker bad day i don't know why do you feel that way? They have been very nice and generous to my family. i had beautiful childhood with lots of things from Germany. My father was high school graduate and he was a poor man, after Germany we had financially very comfortable and good life. I remember When he brought first sharp-Lorenz TV to my house our livingroom was like a movie theater. Every night 20-30 people😀. My first bike, first Addidas shoe and much more things came from Germany.i can't turn my back to Germans. God bless Germany!!
@funisda world it's for Germans to decide who is welcome in their country
@@ajrwilde14 I'm Mexican, but I love your comment. Customs decides who can enter their country, and if they don't like you(for whatever reason), they''ll send your a55 packing.
how can you be an american if your family is turkish and also can't speak the language better than a five year old
Westfield Malls were originally Australian owned (not USA) but sold to a French company 4 years ago. Now, this company plans to sell off the USA locations by 2023.
Never knew it was Australian, now I know. Thanks!
All the malls will be empty by then, shuttered hard sell
@@miketybring4700 it's likely the main reason the founder sold off a few years ago and left Australia to live in another country... He probably saw the impact of ecommerce and peak debt.
I can understand why Westfield is selling there American malls. The European malls are the ones worth investing in.
Most large malls are losing business and many stores are closing down in them, especially in democratic/blue states in the USA.
I've really enjoyed your Germany videos, I've learned so much already!
Oh wow that mall looks so nice and clean! I Dream to one day visit Germany 🇩🇪
I was married to a Hungarian girl her relatives lived in Munich and always enjoyed going to the Oktoberfest. She came from a town in the north of Hungary and in that town is mostly retired German people. Lots of retired Germans in Hungary. They like the lower prices and they always make the town were they live look nice.
I’ve been to Germany and many places in Europe in my past life. I know they have an admiration for America, but I would have been much happier to see their mall with stores I have never seen before. If I went to Germany today I would be disappointed walking into South Coast Plaza. ✌🏻&❤️ GiV.

I'm lovin' your 'Made in Germany' series...

I knew nothing about Germany before your trip. Thank you for educating me on such an incredible country!
As an Australian, I didn't realise Westfield (an Australian company) had shopping centres in Germany! Wow.
Beautiful Mall. If you are ever in Canada, come up to Edmonton, Alberta & visit West Edmonton Mall. Biggest mall in Canada. Over 800 stores, a amusement park, food courts galore, a skating rink, movie theaters, a water park & even a shooting range. Thanks for putting your videos up & God Bless!. Take care.
How nice to see people shopping in a mall but sad that there is such a sameness to the retail offerings worldwide.
Well that’s capitalism. Monopolies win and the small stores go bankrupt
Good comment!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful friends!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Great video.
Gas is $6.51 US per US gallon for regular here in Central Canada and $7.23 for premium.
Your friends are nice!
Hello 👋how are you doing?
Wow it's great to see German fans that love American ways. That Ferris Wheel was gigantic. But I always heard that German engineering is the best. Very nice Mall it looks like most malls in America. How in the hell is beer cheaper than Cokes. Crazy. Well thank for showing us another part of your honeland
Usually there’s at least one non-alcoholic beverage which is cheaper than beer. Mostly it’s (sparkling) water, which is not for free and in Germany you don’t got free refill in most places.
Btw: the Centro complex is the biggest mall and amusement complex throughout Europe and it is the biggest mall complex in Europe.
Same in Canada
yeh for a moment there it pretty much felt like you're in America... the design, red brick ...much of it looked like America. Thanks for sharing this is GiV
Actually, that ferris wheel comes from Holand. The company that manufactures them is Dutch Wheels. I know because I worked in one located in Cancun.
Beer is the german opium. Without it, they can be pretty unpredictable...:)
Always so much happiness! Made my evening. Thanks for showing me the beauty of Germany! Danke . . . 👏👏👍😎

The Westfield Centro shopping mall is not only Germanys biggest shopping mall, it is the biggest mall area throughout entire Europe.
Westfield in Paris is way bigger
@@ghroij7757Westfield Paris has 75000m² but Westfield Centro (former just CentO) Oberhausen 128000m² (and just for comparison the "Mall of America" has 230000m²). Neither of those malls were owned or built by Westfield in the first place. The Australian Company Westfield bought those already existing malls recently. And yes i am German and i love to correct people who have absolutely no idea what they are talking about!

TK Maxx is TJ Max, same company, not a copy . The name for European operations
You make the most uninteresting topics (shopping) entertaining. 50 times to LA, incredible! Would love to hear why they like LA so much and how they feel it has changed. Your friends seem very nice and respectable folks.
Strange they didn't just move there.
I used to work at Centro mall (Starbucks) and it get's crazy busy on the weekends especially before Christmas, all the way through November/December. One of the reasons is probably its location - right in the middle of the Ruhrvalley, close to many big cities and also just a short drive from near by Holland. Lots of shoppers from the Netherlands on the weekends, the Dutch love that mall. Great to meet your subscribers, same here, I love L.A., good times! The car show was amazing, it was always packed with American cars - vintage and current models. Before they built the mall in the early 90s, the entire area was an industrial wasteland, so they really managed to turn the tables on this one…
I don't like those easy jokes, but I kinda lost it when he asked what or those Germans cooking in the furnace. XD
Lucky you we don't have a mall here only a few shop here in the country...enjoy your day..thank you for sharing..
I've never seen a mall that nice.
It's amazing how much the German mall is just like the one's here. Looking forward to more of your German adventure.
That's the magic of Westfield... which I think is an Australia-based company!
@@KutWrite There are hundreds of em here
It was originally built by an english consortium. Bought out by Westfield a couple of years ago (Wikipedia).
@Ozi Bits lame
Haha...mit den beiden Jungs 😉 war ich damals in einer Klasse

It's great to see a Mall that is alive and well.
So many businesses have familiar names. It just goes to show we are in a "global economy".
The green Mustang is my choice but I'd rather have a 5.0L V8.
I don't think you've ever released a video that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end👍
Wow...GIV has friends every where he goes 👍
That was an awesome video you’re a good dude have fun and be safe looking forward to your other videos 👍

You should check out the US' biggest mall, the Mall of America in Minnesota. It has a theme park inside it!
The Themepark here at this Mall is in front of it. They got two there. A Chinese one and a kind of a Carnival
Awesome mall that has everything. Thanks for the great tour. 👍
I'm impressed with the mall - incredible.
Oh my goodness, GIV! This German mall is beautiful and so full of life and bursting with commerce! Sort of TBT for me! Love it!❤️ And you managed to slip in a “Back to the Future” reference!😅 Another wonderful excursion !😍
TK Maxx and TJ Maxx are the same company. The different name is due to a store that existed in UK called TJ Hughes apparently.
Same reason as why Burger King is called Hungry Jack's in Australia. There was a previous restaurant called Burger King there which registered the trademark.
GIV...you give your all to your audience...absolutely love the tour in Germany...thank you!!!
A wonderful tour with your friends, thanks my dear Mike!
Oh my gosh I saw a C&A when you were on the Ferris wheel…C&A used to be big here in the UK 🇬🇧 it’s so nice to see it still open in Germany 🇩🇪
Hey GIV, really enjoying the videos of your homeland and surrounding area's. Thanks for the videos. See ya.

And we loved the picture of you and your friend as young men with muscles posing in the last video! We just started working out again and we are in our early 40s, we are getting very strong, we hope that you get back into it again Mike, it’s never too late to start lifting again! 😘💪🤩👏
Its amazing how that mall is thriving unlike most American ones.
I know right, Mall's in America are ghost towns, but Mall's in other countries are thriving and full of people, which is very rare here in American mall's.
Hello German in Venice- Please tell your beautiful Mom that her fans say "Hello"❤
Modern talking is awesome! Nice mall, really feels like one in the US.
This is such a big contrast from downtown in your home town. Wow!
It looks great
Hey mike that shopping center there is so sic I’ve been following you since you got to Germany, hope to see you back in California soon, your mom has such a beautiful smile
Wow Allues Gut 👍🏻 💥😎🇺🇸🇩🇪

Shout out from Colorado. Always enjoy you sharing. If your ever in the Twin Cities in MN you need to check out Mall of America. Huge Lego land, rainforest cafés, aquarium, roller coaster..... You will not be disappointed. Always wanted to visit Germany. If you ever visit the castles i would love to see what you could share. Stay safe & be well
Mike you have fans everywhere you go it’s unbelievable!!!👍🏽💯🥰🇩🇪🌟✨🌴🌊 you’re the best German In Venice 💯🥰💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Wait! What? You can take your dog to the mall there in Germany? Loved the mall ~ reminds me of the good old days. ❤️✌🏻
is it not allowed in US ?
And to the restaurants too..
@@michaelprinaris2250 why would you go to a restaurant in a mall in germany with ur dog lol
My Mom passed in Oberhausen in 2019. Marita Lorenz was a world famous Spy and German who worked for the CIA . Thank you Michael for bringing back great memories of times walking around this Mall...made me cry with joy.
Damn, reading your mum's entry in Wiki, she had quite the life! Greetings from Canada.
@@jerfacekilla Many Thanks! Please follow "Thrive over 55" as I will be posting a video about my life with my amazing mother.
Beautiful! Sher scun!😘
HA! Love the Culver City shout out and FoxHills Mall! Westfield is everywhere !
xoxo a Culver City Native
Nice food court , Westfield really knows how to design mallscapes.
You know, I'm weird. I love rollercoasters but Ferris wheels scare the cr@p out of me! lol. Thanks for showing us around, Mike. The more of these you do the more I want to move to Germany.
Wow. I really like that Mall. Everything seems so clean and nice.
Just like here, but much cleaner !
Thanks for the great tour of the big mall. I'd never be able to walk it, disabled as I am. Therefore I have great fun watching your videos ❤️🙏🇨🇦
I love Ferris Wheels they give you the best view. This seems to be as big as the one in England.
I always want to go Germany. I take three years German in high school. I’m so hook on the Ritter sport chocolate. It taste better than the American chocolate. I stop eating Hershey chocolate because they use sour milk in their chocolate.
and cattle blood, dried.
Was just in London a few months ago, and they have the same obsession with American foods/candy like that too. Entire stores are just dedicated to that everywhere.
Not a good thing for me...
westfield was a Australian company before the take over by one of the largest realestate companys in Europe Unibail-Rodamco
Westfields is an Australian company started by Frank Lowy a Jewish refugee from WWII Europe who immigrated to Australia.
German in Germany!! Haha how cool! I’ve always wanted to visit!
Wow, that was great to see! Thanks Mike for taking us there. Just remember this when you return to Cali. Take us to simple everyday places people go to.
Klasse Video mal wieder, war dort das 1.und letzte mal vor rund 16 oder 17 Jahren 👍👍
Gruß aus Oberhausen schöner Vlog vom Centro 👍😎
Thank you! Enjoyed the tour of your German Mall! The Ferris Wheel was creaking too much for me. Nope, no way. I'll just watch from here, lol.
Love your videos from Germany especially the ones with your mom and friends. Germany seems to be a very clean country.
Verry cool cars
Catching up with all your videos
Its amazing how much American influence there is the malls there ! Also the Mustangs would cost like 80 Euros each fill up!
You are creative
Very close to heart
I’m loving the Germany videos ❤️
That's cool on how they had 3 soccer team stores in that mall
Westfield's shopping centers originated in Melbourne Victoria Australia here and they decided to bring it around the world altogether
Thanks for your video.
Eine der wenigen Malls die cool aussieht, wie im Ausland. Gruesse aus Barcelona, hier sind auch alles Westfield, sehen aber teils noch cooler aus. LG
Your. Funny guy enjoy walking around with ya lol 😂
Another great video, always fun to hang out with you. Please tell mom hi & we miss seeing her lovely smile last couple videos. Hope she's feeling better. I wonder if you're feeling a little homesick for Venice beach? Really been great checking out Germany with you. Thank you so much.!!
