The Hoplites being a military faction is kind of odd compared to the rest. Most of the other factions represent a culture of people such as Thracians who would be from the city state of Thrace, Germans who would be from the Germanic Tribes, Spartans who would be from Sparta and so on. Hoplites are not so much a culture of people as they are a military unit. Those soldiers who make up the phalanx in an army are known as Hoplites just like we would call someone in a modern army an Infantryman. I guess as a faction they would simply represent a unaffiliated troop of Greek infantry but, compared to the rest of the factions they are particularly ambiguous.
