Hummer H3 side view mirror and heat plate rattle

Used j.b weld the night before. Allow to dry overnight. As you can see in front of that plastic pivot line where I put the cold weld that's the area the mirror seems to sit on. Not really behind that line. So apply a nice amount that sits about 1/8" above that line and you should be fine. The reason why I used a big washer was to compensate for the frayed areas around the nut on the heat plate. It covers the entire area and completely silences that annoying rattle. If you just tighten the nut without using washers the sound will continue. I believe you will need a 10mm socket
