"tritone chord" is a misnomer. a tritone is an interval, not a chord. A chord necessarily has at least three notes, so if you're trying to say "three note chord", that is redundant. a tritone gets its name because you can derive it from adding three whole tones to the base note. edit: "triad" is the right word to use, but my brain couldn't remember that for some reason
I am totally psyched the there are people out there like you pushing new boundaries. Keep pursuing your dreams! Without people like you most of us guitarists would be playing lutes.
I jumped when you said OKC, I’m at OSU and love working on my electric guitar. I have no money to buy, but would like to get in line to learn from you in your crew. Very cool instrument
I can't play any instruments...but I love what can be done on a guitar and I love techno music. What you've created is both genius and simple....the best kind of invention!
While it's not in my wheelhouse I love the innovation and creativity shown. I'm happy to subscribe and forward this to my synth playing friends. Keep up the good work! (And make sure you lock down any patents.) Good luck brother!
Oh yeah it sounds amazing with fuzz and a wah, I have a video where I kinda play the star spangled banner with a wah and it's extremely effective. Sounds a lot like hendrix honestly, more than I thought it would.
Seems like a cool idea to have around, and interest in synths in the guitar world have sprung about again via pedals, so I think the market is there. I wish you the best in this journey.
I've seen things come and go for the past twenty years making noise, but this is very original and good luck to you.... Sounds great...I can see it being used for a movie or video game score
Dude this actually looks pretty cool. In a time when they say music isn’t being innovative I see this thing lmao no but really as a producer/beat maker I love to have some weird instruments laying around and this one is def something I would be interested in
We don't need patents crippling home instrument makers. I can just see the waves of YT strikes for people experimenting with things like "tone springs" in their own videos. If everything is an off the shelf part you should consider the benefit of patenting for musicians and art in the long run. Patents exist to protect the institution of creativity, and you have a kickstarter for that. It also looks a lot like a NoodleVolt. Remember Yamaha and FM and what happened the Con Brio.
Omg it's literally a Gameboy instrument! This is insane! I can't explain why because the story is too long for a comment, but I've been looking for something exactly like this for YEARS! I don't know when I will get one but I HAVE to have one! This will seriously aid my musical idea I've had since highschool like 10 years ago! 😭👍
Having pots up on the headstock to tune each “string” like normal tuners would be fun. Also, a hurdy gurdy style wheel would be awesome here! Good work, these look awesome!
You have no idea how long I spent trying to make that work until I realized it was impossible for a long list of reasons. Basically the range of each strip changes as you "tune" the note, and therefore tuning one spring channel stretches out the neck scale so the 12th fret of one would be like the 5th fret of the other. Analog synthesizers are a lot trickier than digital devices but so worthwhile in my opinion.
Wow! That sounds amazing! Wondering if it can go low enough for basslines, it can imagine some nasty low tones in the style of the late Mark Sandman from Morpine...
Not gonna lie, that's pretty fucking cool. The versatility is what gets me. I'm a rabid metalhead and I could see this being very useful, not just in a studio setting, either
dude! if you added some filters, or maybe some envelope-mapped effects like FM or RM, this could be the next big instrument to try and put the power of a synthesizer in an ergonomic form! keep up the great work. very cool.
This should have 3 springs and rails to make tritone chords possible.
Like easy, medium, and hard mode in guitar hero.

Finally an electric door stopper spring for all of us who grew up playing acoustic!
Will it chug?
Just you wait til Ola England gets his hands on this puppy
Send it through the right pedals it could crunch.
maybe if there's a way to adjust the amp envelope, or with a pedal that can do the same
🤣🤣🤣 No chugging allowed.
Because we needed another thing that sounds like a steel guitar. 🤮

I want one just because you're wearing a Cardiacs shirt.

There are! I did use one without markings for a part of the video, but they have the minor pentatonic marked out on them with diamond shapes.
