Honestly, the last part with Mia relates to me so much. I work so dam hard on my swing and people tell me its good but i just don’t see the results and i beat myself down 10x more and it spirals out of control… it really helped to start playing with strangers that are much better than me, and they are always so encouraging. Played with a scratch golfer and the whole round he was just telling me “oh if thats your bad shots youre doing amazing” or “man you got a really good game if you just refined some small things” and told me i could be single digit if i just dialed in my short game. And honestly that really changed everything for me. Especially since I would watch him tee off and hit into the deep rough, then go and make birdie… it was incredible. Slowly and slowly, finding the confidence and it really has been helping on course. Its just a tough game

Absolutely valuable and charming lesson. Rick is great! You ladies have such enthusiasm and joie de vivre, the fun and laughter just bubbles over and is extremely contagious. I watched your scramble round vs. Rick and I couldn't stop smiling the entire time. I personally (although I have absolutely no involvement with any of you and you've never heard of me, along with 75 million other people) believe that you all have tremendous determination to become excellent golfers. Thank you all (and you, too, Rick) for putting yourselves out there for the whole world to see, so we can see our own concerns and flaws and learn from you how to overcome adversity. You are awesome!

The number one thing I was taught from my best lesson I ever had was that my last shot happened and I can't change that. But my next shot is going to get me closer to my goal... I ended my career in golf with a 6 handicap at age 61.... just enjoy the ability to be able to keep playing this awesome game 😊

Looking at their swings, finding positivity, and directing them to use their individual abilities to their own advantages with only slight changes. No....they/we/me will never be a Rory MacIlroy, Tiger or Jack but we can improve and make our golf experience more pleasurable. We'll done on your teaching Rick!!! Only just caught up with this. I have only been playing for 18 months hence this is highly relatable content. Rick is such a good coach, positivity abounds, picks up on the good things and then tweaks a weakness. So true when he says you can only learn a little at a time. You are all GREAT students - prepared to listen, follow the advice and give positive support to each other. Looking forward to watching each one of you improve exponentially over the next couple of years - please keep these coming!

Hey Mia. Have been watching your vids, I am actually enjoying them a lot. I'm from New Zealand and I really enjoy my golf most of the time. Mentally I'm the same while I'm playing. Rick's advice was so spot on for us mental cases. I'm going to take his advice and picture what I want my shot to do then play that shot through. When I'm fly fishing I am visually seeing that fly cast in the air to where and how I want it to lay on the spot. So I'm going to try the same mental visual when taking my shot. Hey this might work for me. Love you English humour, your laughter is infectious, your commentary thoughts and analysis while accessing your next shot is pretty dam good. You are entertaining, a good laugh, witty and you draw me in so have to watch more. Great stuff Mia.

You girls needed the confidence boost (especially Emily) and I hope Jenny is able to use what Rick taught her to improve. Cool video! Can't wait to see you ladies' put these tips into your game as the summer progresses. Mia, just remember that you don't have to always hit perfect shots to score well in golf. I see so many of my friends spray the ball left and right and still beat my pants because them not hitting perfect shots has given them tons of experience perfecting their short game which is really the most important part of golf. If you hit "perfect" shots all the time, you'd never be in places where you'd need to play short chips, bumps and runs, flop shots, various pitches, and really long putts (sometimes putts just off green, too). But... if you hit less than perfect tee and fairway shots, you'll get tons of short game practice so your confidence in that part of your game will soar. You'll be like, "oh I've hit these types of shots tons of times and I know exactly what to do". I've seen great ball strikers all of a sudden hit an occasional bad shot trying to blast it and then they're like, "bloody hell what on earth do I do from this spot?" Some of them honestly don't have as much experience as the "bad" ball striker if they miss the green or are in the trees or the sand. So instead of beating yourself up right after tee and fairway shots that make you say, "I could have done better if I'd only done this or that", give yourself a few glorious seconds to internally (and externally) get out your frustration via shouts and expletives but then focus on the next shot (because the previous shot no longer means squat) and you'll more than likely be able to say, oh I've been in this situation before and know exactly what to do. It might be, "oh sweet, I'm in the perfect spot to chip my 56 degree wedge 10 yards to land a yard onto the green which will then roll another 10 yards to the hole" or "oh this is a 9 iron that I want to land 15 yards short of the green to roll up onto it" or "let's get this long putt into an imaginary garbage bin lid around the hole for an easy tap in two putt". Those kinds of shots are just as if not more pleasant places to be in than on the tee box or the middle of the fairway far away. Embrace being in short game situations and make that part of your game just as enjoyable as your tee box drives. While the short game might not feel as "sexy" as bombing a driver or long iron, it's the awesome short pitches, chips, greenside bunker shots, and putts that get the most fist bumps and cheers for good reason." The other shots are just the ones that get you into position to whip out your short game skills. Cheers!

My wife and I picked up golfing 15 years ago as a way to have a rest day from rock climbing. We needed a game that did not use our sore muscles, all technique. My wife also though tiger was an attractive man. Now I am 50 and all I can do is golf , I have had 3 shoulder surgeries and climbing rocks in France is not an option. Climbing rocks forces one to control your emotions in the most serious ways. Any adrenaline any the muscles will over grip, this has to be controlled the entire time. Plus we try stuff that I can never do every time , like golf … only 20 percent of our shots are the best the rest is salvage work. The pros get better at misses but still will say not every shot is perfect. To help Control my head i play one shot at a time , put it on the phone and never look at again, Until the end. I also have adopted my favorite shot , making par from a lost ball …… the better i get at golf t😂he less i get to make this shot but that is good. I find golf grip to be the most important swing component, a neutral grip is not very natural for people. To keep from rapid fire practicing I aim and set up every time the way I do on the course , Good meaningful practice is better than more ball the wrong way. I think you girls are way better than your first video by far.
I have a content idea. Have a practice sessions range and putt . Figure a way to make a little game for each , the winner can pick an fake talisman of golf, kind as like dungeons and dragons. UA-cam would be good for this because of editing prowess. Let’s say a driving amulet will allows one to change the direction of the drive by 20 percent if worn on the t box, kinda like a mulligan but the ball can move . A 200 yard dive could be moved 40 yards each way from the landing. Amulets for putting could be earned or chipping … kinda fun and different . It also would impart to the UA-cam new golfer that practice is a larger part of golf that the game. Good work on your golf ….girls it is the hardest thing in the world to be as good as you want.

Rick humored you and went along with your "head problem". There are things you need to work on with your swing, own up to them and work on them on camera. "is not my swing is my head", guess what, is your swing.

Just love your video's. Have fun while playing... There is always room for improving. Even if you played 80 or 75...You will think of where you could have done better!!! Can't change a bad shot...only the next one :-) Take care!!!

Mia, stop being so hard on yourself (I do the same so I’m half typing this to myself lol). You are insanely good for your short amount of time playing - if the best in the world can still shank it mid tournament, then you have to expect to hit some bad shots here and there. It’s ok to have high goals, as long as you also have realistic ones. Like he said, a bad shot is just a new opportunity for an amazing next shot!!

I often suffer from the effects of that fifteenth club (my mind). I have been amazed at how quickly you have picked up the game.
