    I bought mine a year ago June because it’s a perfect bike for me. I own a Fiat 500L and it’s in the back as though made for it! I’ve now over 1100 miles and there have been no problems (other than tighten my brakes). It’s got a powerful motor and lasts for many more miles than I can.

    Already have the larger Rad Rover bike which I love however I can't take it by car anywhere and I have a Honda CRV SUV but the bike is too big, too heavy and the main rack for it is the Hollywood Rack which is $500 and they are always sold out so in the morning will be buying "this Rad Mini" and will get the 50 gallon rubber made tote. Thank you for the video - I am sold !

    I appreciated your review. Our Mini Step Thru was delivered this week. Same experience as you had. Fairly easy bike assembly but the rear rack install was horribly difficult. I think it is due to the fact on ours at least that paint was inside the bolt bore on the threads. I figured for sure that I was about to snap the mounting bolts off. Finally got the rack mounted and we really enjoy the bike, haven't decided yet if we are getting another Mini or a Radrunner Plus.
    I have never had a bike with a removable front wheel before. The front axle skewer seems under built but obviously does the job. It does kind of creep me out on what is holding the wheel in place.
    I also liked the wheeled tote you are using, it must come in handy a lot of the time. Good idea there.

      How are they to pedal is it like a real bike or because it’s so small it doesn’t pedal that good you’re just using the throttle thank you

    • @AtHomeInTheFuture
      @AtHomeInTheFuture  3 роки тому +2

      It pedals great; PAS 1 feels similar to using a normal bike, and every level after that gets progressively easier.

    • @DaveM-FFB
      @DaveM-FFB 3 роки тому +1

      @@notsocbr The RAD 4 Mini doesn't feel small. I've got 350 miles on it in just over a month. I pedal in level 3 doing 18mph and get a good workout. 17 miles a day is a good exercise for this 63 year old. I needed to invest $45 for a suspension seat post though. The 3.3 inch tires and the front suspension make for a nice and comfy ride. Otherwise I couldn't ride continuously for 1 hour.

    A milk crate tie wrapped to the rear rack is the way we do it here in Long Beach New York. Plenty of room for drinks taking off your jacket and also when going on long rides & taking a hefty tool/repair kit in case of an emergency

    I watched a lot of vids before I bought the rad like the one above used. Someone laid it down, it's not flawless cosmetically but I have had a ball riding it. You get to choose how hard you want to work. Hills? No big deal. going fast downhill on the kenda tires feels safe and secure. Depending on your situation this thing could replace your car. I like it.

    The Brompton Electric is essentially the same fold as the regular Brompton.
    They ride a little funny and only go 15mph but the fold is TINY.
    Also, expensive.

    My wife and I bought Rad Mini's 3 years ago, hers is a "step through" mine is standard. I love the bikes, but found the same problem with the hardware in attaching the racks front and rear. Between the hardware itself and the cheap tools, it made it much harder than it needs to be. Many people will hardly ever use the tools, but if you are one who works on your own bike, get good tools and hardware. Another thing I just found, after 300 miles of riding over all manner of rough rocky trails with out any flat tires, I just spent a week at an eastern plains State Park, and got punctures in both front and rear tires from "goat heads", a small sand-burr type weed with a 3/8 to 1/2 inch long needle.

    I was wondering how the bike fits in the 50 gallon tote because when you had it folded next to the other bike at 11:37 into the video it seems a lot more wide compared to how it looks in when it was inside the tote?

    • @AtHomeInTheFuture
      @AtHomeInTheFuture  3 роки тому

      The fit is tight, but it definitely works. The segment outside just had the Mini more loosely folded since it wasn’t being held together by the tote too.

    • @ThePackDad
      @ThePackDad 2 роки тому

      @@woodsculptor675 I did...and I am grateful I got it when i did. I'm not sure how I feel about the Expand. I'm not yet a fan of the step-thru, but probably will be one day. The price had dropped to $1,299 for a few weeks back in Nov. I got it and spent the winter upgrading almost everything except the battery and motor. Rad has been GREAT. They covered shipping for the RR6 return, and when I had a problem, they shipped me a new part right away. The M4 arrived in Dec. before the cold set in (in Maryland), and I had a blast riding around at night checking out the Christmas lights. You get that feeling like when you first learned to a ride a bike and felt that new freedom of quicker travel. Can't wait for it to warm up so more. I rode my Trek's and Cannondales mt bikes since the 90's and after an injury in 2016, can't pedal full power. This ebike opened the biking world for me again. Very happy with my M4. 🙂

    • @Matanumi

      The expand is arguably worse then the mini

    • @ThePackDad
      @ThePackDad Рік тому

      @@Matanumi Still happy with my Mini4. My friend got a Hummer eBike and I like the functions and handling of his bike. The throttle adjusts top speed based on the PAS setting where my Mini throttle is variable. I have to VERY gently twist my throttle (added a thumb lever), but it's hard to maintain a lower speed with my Mini. That said, I have had a few great cust serv experiences with Rad. My buddy is unable to get any assistance with his. After the winter of learning my eBIke top to bottom I don't think I need support anymore so I'd be happy with his bike too.
      Pros/cons either way.

    To be honest, I am very disappointed in Rad Power Bikes. I had been planning to buy these bikes for a very long time. I also called yesterday, and spoke to your sales rep, who said that you guys won’t even ship parts out here to Hawaii. Do you realize that we are part of the United States too? I understand that there are restrictions on lithium ion batteries, I get that. But you can’t even ship parts here if I did have one? Maybe there needs to be a way to ship the bike, and parts and then send the Lithium iOn batteries via surface separately. I went down to my local bike shop and dropped $12k on 4 Giant E Bikes instead because they actually wanted my business. Rad Power Bikes, pull your head out of the sand and realize that Alaska and Hawaii exist too. Maybe it's time for us to stop doing business with Washington residents too. I am pissed off. Aloha
