@@selah6778 If they go afk, the rest of the team gets orb + extra money. If they just suicide every round, rest of the team gets nothing :(
@@Schmuck they can suicide in any map, in this map if they want to suicide et least they just jump to the void and not give kills to the enemy

only difference on Abyss is that they can kill you in a sorta funny way, but throwers will make u lose regardless of map
Imagine defusing on that little bridge and you get satcheled or Breach stunned off the platform lol
You can’t get raze satcheled bc they’re nerfing raze so that raze’s satchel doesn’t do damage nor knockback if it is shot. Unless they are playing point blank or smth most people can shoot it.

@@NoName-sv9vc if you're defusing the spike you probably don't have time to pull out your gun and shoot the satchel before raze can detonate it. You can even detonate the satchel while it's still midair.
first thing i told my raze main friend is that they better not try to satchel jump while we're both on the bridge lmao
some (potential) lore i found!!
when watching the abyss cinematic, the coordinates for the map read 70°50'AJ"N 9°00'XV"W during the title screen. i did some experimenting and converted 'AJ' using a typical alphanumerical series (A=1, B=2, C=3, etc.) to 1 and 10, making 11.0 when put together. i then used roman numerals to convert XV (since the alphanumerical series didn't work digits wise) to 15.0.
with the coordinates now reading 70°50'11.0"N 9°00'15.0"W, i put it into google maps and it directed me to an island north of Iceland called Jan Mayen
now rewatching the grand finals showmatch of abyss, around the end of round 16, Albert Robles, the Map Producer, mentioned that the map was regionally based off of "a really remote island just north of Iceland", which completely matches Jan Mayen's description!!! thought it was an interesting piece of lore that you could add to content about this map!! (dk if my logic with the numbers is completely correct but i thought it was interesting :D)

edit: actually, now that i think about it, if you use the alphanumerical series with XV and instead add the numbers together as opposed to just putting them together (so XV being 24 + 26, and therefore 50.0, and AJ still remaining as 11.0), the coords still direct you to Jan Mayen :-))

Honestly, all maps feel pretty huge when you see them for the first time!
its not that big but less covers and stuff make it looks big
I personally think its a really good map so far, obviously we will know it better once it is out there for a while, but by now, it just is so different to fall the other maps and also has so much potential for strats. Really want to know how it will turn out long term

the aspect of falling down the map is just a new addition which is very new and will be known how good it is only in the long run
all the aspects in a map: mid , sites, lurking ways are different and bring a new thing to the game
there are plenty of high risk high reward plays that can be made.
Overall, I think it's gonna change our expectations from a map in the future.
This map actually looks good unlike sunset pre-change. Great job riot and good showcase Kanga!

I think the reason they put omen and clove in the trailer is this map is going to need two controllers. Specifically two Orb smoke controllers which is why they slightly buffed brim stone

The same animation that normally happens when people fall off the map lol. Nothing is different
Ngl the mini map resembles the ascent layout quite a lot , as if its just a mixture of a bigger and opened up ascent and pearl with a hella lot of drops and a few tweaks here n there
This map looks so fun to play. and i really love the design, not too many long ranged duels, but at the same time not too closed ranged. And those skill jumps are really gonna make some funny moments. Really excited and can't wait to see how this map will be played out!

In the future videos can you check out the frozen chamber kanga? In the show match i think i saw a glimpse of someone walking back and forth in there, could be part of a map details video! Love the videos as always!
I did check and forgot to include, you're right though there's a silhouette walking back and forth across the lower level. If I do a 'lore breakdown' style of video (not currently planning on it but we'll see), that might be the type of thing I show

After copying the concept of Vertigo (CS2 map), the last map concept they need to copy is that of CS2 map Nuke, with stacked bombsites on top of each other.

@@ChargedJosh How many people know about agency? Compare that to how many people know about vertigo. Comparing with vertigo is an easier catch to many, specially Valorant players who might have tried cs.
The point is the map "concept", not the design/layout.
They literrally nerfed RAZE... just so that she cannot satchel players out in "abyss" nerfed only for this map
I KNOW. I don't even play her, but why nerf her movement when they simultaneously release a HUGE OPEN MAP
If you detonate the satchel yourself, it still does knock back. Only when it's shot by an enemy that's when it doesn't do anything.

only the spike will come back.

I'm actually so hyped for this map it reminds me of some Warframe map design oddly enough!

People can ruin a game if they choose to do so on any map. If someone wants to troll, they can troll, this map doesn't really change anything in that regard imo.

these comments are so stupid. “omg throwers are gonna love this map”. if people want to throw they’ll find a way no matter what. if anything this map is actually better for us. it’s better to have them throw the spike off repeatedly and have a chance of snatching it from them than having a thrower just hold spike and go afk. it’s also better to have a thrower jump off the map than run mid with their knife out to feed the enemy an ult point

Other than the colour tone which feels so much like Pearl, which can appear alittle dull at times considering how vibrant a game Valorant can be, it looks to be an interesting map
I dont know why it feels less tactical shooter'ish now with all the jump spots and drops. Wouldnt know if its a good change or detaching too much from the core game play. But in the end with all the agents and (their potential use of) abilities i guess thats the direction Riot has decided to take !
This looks like the most fun map to date. Anyone have any idea when it’s going to release?

I think that the bomb should spawn in a random point within a radius of where it was thrown. It'll prevent at least one means of throwing with people just taking the bomb and throwing it off the map. Also important to note, that riot is rumored to be pushing hardware bans for toxic players so hopefully this won't be as big of a problem as we're thinking this will be
I don’t understand this whole "throwers can keep tossing the spike over the edge to throw" idea in this comment section. Throwers can already literally just hog the spike to deny progress, so what’s changed exactly?

Yoru could potentially get over there as well. If you eventually learn a tp lineup to get to that point, you can tp there
Imagine you are diffing peacefully on both sites knowing your teammates got ur six, and the next moment breach's ult throws u off the map
9:55 imagine planting on the bridge and when they are defusing just use breach ult lol free kill.
Throwing will actually be better with this, sure they can die easier but Riot can also confirm that they are 100% throwing which can allow them to administer a penalty instantly. Throwers dying in gunfights makes it harder to tell for the mods if they are actually throwing or not.
This might become my favorite map when it comes out

The verticality is going to massively favor Harbor since his walls can cover both ground and raised angles

I just realised, The Omen knife on a movie have a name "danger" instead "cliff" or "edge" or something else on minimap. It's a "B Danger".
B top smoke is gonna be hard to do with harbor it got me thinking cant i play my harbor on this map cuz of that ;-;

For some reason, the aerial-view layout of Abyss reminds me a lot of Dust II's layout

People talking about how easy it is for throwers to sabotage or whatever, but honestly I'd rather have them jump off the map than body-blocking, using util on teammates or taking spike and afking.
