Hi @BrianBDouglas, wanted some more information on estimation of unknown parameters in a dynamic system, for example, what if the damping coefficient in an electromechanical system is unknown. Any examples on how to estimate those kinds of values?

Hi Brian, just wanted to say thanks for the video. It was super interesting, and you explained everything in a really easy-to-understand way! Cheers.

@@SharanShastri There are a bunch of parameter identification examples at the MathWorks website. I'll add a link to them after this comment - please let me know if it doesn't show up, often when I post links the comment gets rejected.

You have no idea how much I am grateful for this video. I hope everyone can teach like you do.
When learning a new field, it's very important to position each keyword (or terminology, knowledge point) correctly on the hierarchical (tree) or graphical (graph) overview. You have achieved it and done even better----keeeping zooming in and out to let people recall the positions of the detailed keywords you just explained.

    Thx for tutorial!
What is proper way to optimize derivation compute time of iLQG?
    SIMD OR GPU,
OR CACHING TRAJECTORIES AND P and K matrix?

    Hi,
thanks for this video, I was recently checking the state feedback video because i was looking in the Ackermann's formula. In short, i don't know why we would need the Ackermann's formula although we can use the basic K_x & K_r method, I couldn't understand why would someone decide to use the Ackermann's formula although the basic method has the K_r advantage, thanks

How does one get a work in this field? I have both a degree and master's degree in Industrial Engineering and would like to change my field of expertise.

This is a 13 minute long advertisement on MATLAB at best, I mean what's the point of this video or the page in the bio when they can't give us an intuitive understanding to model anything. You could have atleast tried with simple examples like spring, mass and damper system.

Thanks for the comment. You're right that it would have been a good idea to carry an example through each of the sections so that it's easier to get an intuitive understand of each of these methods. I was hoping that simply by giving a short overview of each method that is listed in the map of modeling dynamic systems, we could provide a general understanding of the pros and cons of each and how they relate to each other while keeping the video under 15 minutes. There are examples of each of the methods that you can find on the resource page that is linked in the description of this video. I'll admit that it's not as easy to follow links as it is to just have examples in the video itself, so I'll keep this in mind for future videos. Thanks again for your comment. I appreciate the feedback!

The goal of this video was to give an overview of the different dynamic system modeling tools Matlab has to offer so you can go explore them yourself. And yes it sort of is an advertisement for MATLAB but there’s nothing else like it out there and the biggest difficulty most people face is simply knowing what tools are even available to them. If you want an in-depth explanation on how these work with examples, MATLAB has plenty of documentation for these different tools.
