I have noticed that the seats and concrete under the north east corner get wet when it rains, hope the roof in that corner isn't leaking.
Let's hope the no-longer dead tree showing signs of life is symbolic of how our season is about to revive and spark into life......
They replaced the dead tree with a decent one. If only the club did the same with our current manager.
Glad to see back Nick! Another great update - stadium progressing at a great pace now! COYB💙
It looks like it really is going to be the best stadium in the Championship
Great to have you back buddy
At 11:35 you can just spot that they’ve started fitting the frame to the side of the lower section of the South stand, to complete the curve. Going to look great when that’s all cladded too.
Hiya Nic welcome back if they are lights they would look fantastic lit up in BLUE of a night 🌙 💙 😀 UTFT NIL SATIS NISI OPTIMUM 😊
Great video Nick! it looks to be like the stadium is coming along very quickly now, just a matter of time until the Toffees play here.
Looking good now isn’t it
Seats are now having the number tags fitted Nick 👍
Highlight of a depressing week for us blues. Keeping the faith 🥴
They say in life; 'third time lucky'. Very sadly, this season will prove 'third time unlucky'. I've got a horrible feeling the Toffees will be in the Championship next season.
Yes indeed, LFC beat Man United in your biggest game of the weekend 😅
Welcome back mate
Great comeback Nick. Thank you again 👍
Hey Nick
Great to see you back I’ve been resisting looking at others to wait for yours, hope you had a great holiday
Great video Nick as always thanks for the updates hope you had a nice time on holiday
Good to see you back. Missed your updates Mr Drone. It's all coming together now and looking amazing. Best wishes, Graeme from Portsmouth. Play Up Pompey.
Thanks, Nick..great stuff, as always. UTFT!💙
The blue pipes will be used to fill up the canal section, they won't just open up the gates. You remarked on that in a video several months back. Hope you had a good time in the U.S.
The grass seeding is a while away yet Nick. There was a layer of gravel put down, then they put in those blue pipes, that's the under soil heating, they are spreading soil over the blue piping, and will move across the pitch, and continue adding blue piping as they go. Grass will go in when that is all done.
Welcome back! Hope your holiday was great. Noticeable progress.......it won't be too long now. I've taken a few telephoto shots from Wallasey Town Hall and the place looks amazing from over the water.💙
Nice one Nick. Was there last Monday in the rain but still quite a few blues around taking picks etc .Stadium looks brilliant
Welcome back Nick. Been away myself returned today mate 👍
Nick, so glad they released you early mate 😉
Welcome back, they are lights around the barrel cladding but they have been there a long time , at a guess I would say a month to 6 weeks
Hi Nick hope you had a great holiday ,great videos and the stadium is looking great , do you know if the seats in the dugouts are having any everton football club emblems on the headrests at all 👍😎🎩
That blue pipe is pumping out water in the ground Nick and they are blue lights installed on the East Stand underneath the barrel cladding
Good to see you back mate hope had a lovely holiday
Welcome back fella. Really enjoyed the update. Not sure if I missed it or you were unaware, but I spotted on an EFC update that the memorial to Michael Jones has been completed. It looks like a steel buoy painted in Everton blue and cast with his name. Total quality from EFC for doing that. Let me know if you are coming back to Portman Road for the game in October, i'll buy you a beer! Really enjoying the stadium and wishing we had something as grand and as big. Baz
This is the first time I’ve seen this stadium and have to say that I like the design very much. The only criticism I have is that the brickwork colour is too light against the grey of the cladding.
Welcome back Nick hope you enjoyed your holiday, Now get back to work 😃 NSNO.
I just realised that the plaza slabs represent where the old dock water was . 😎
Great video as always Nick. Glad you had a lovely holiday. Does anyone else think they are really going to have to go pedal to metal to get it all finished by December? How much are the club doing in terms of the internal fit out?
Another brilliant video from Mr. D. are you going to cover the New Man. City build?
Hi - hope you had a great holiday, good to have you back. Couple of questions I wonder if anyone can answer
1. The flat roofs below the steel gladding on east and west - is that expected to be painted at some point as looks a bit “unfinished” I think in its current form
2. I wonder if there will likely be any plans to deal with / deter seagulls on match days (if anything can be done at all) - they are going to be a proper nuisance on match day attacking people for their chips 😂
1) Yes, dark grey sealant screeding will be applied to the flat concrete roofs below the barrel cladding.
2) One of the other droners filmed a falconer stood on the flat south east concrete roof a few weeks ago. His hawk was eyeing up the gulls - he was waiting for the drone filming to finish.
Fantastic coverage of bramley Moor dock when are you going to do chester zoo again I live half a mile away from zoo when you get the bus to Chester and you go past the zoo you can see they have already built over 10 huts for there out of Africa program
undersoil heating going in mate the blue pipes.
in the thumbnail it looks like its been snowing or is that just me?
👍👍
I’m working there digging out the trench for the water to go in there’s a long reach machine going in on Thursday to reach down to dig more sand out water will flow in a couple of weeks
Great video good see you back put vid out thanks lee
Missed your videos Nick! A well deserved few weeks off mate! Now, get back to work! Ha!! Teddy
The tree is not dead guys. Stressed from replacement. Stop worrying. Completely normal.👊👍
They replaced the tree. Previous one died.
Looks like North East lower there's 2 or 3 rows of seats to go In still
Yep, and still quite a few more seats to be fitted in the west stand and dugouts
at 16 minutes 41 seconds you can see lights flickering in the rafters. Looks like stadium power is now live.
Odd comment: power has been to site from the start by various means and the lights being on in the trusses are not new by a long shot. It's been a common feature for over a year at least.
Be careful not to go too low around the south stand because we have heard that the seguls are in nesting season and they knocked someone's drone out the sky around that area
Nesting season is March-July. Craig’s drone was taken down and destroyed by a juvenile seagull, apparently
Just a guess, but the pipes sticking out in the channel could be to let any air escape, to allow the sand to pack down.
No, they’re pumps
There’s a system in place to pump water between Nelson and Sandon 1/2 tide docks - that’s those pipes. Was there before we took the site on apparently. I think it’s to keep water levels within spec as the docks to the south are fed by the Leeds &Liverpool Canal by the Titanic. They’d over fill and flood somewhere presumably.
Only looking from an outsider Burnley fan from the start of the build but the brick facia spoils it for me
Hi Nick, Do you know if the sand that is being removed from the infilled Dock area is being recycled and used as the sand layer that is being used to cover the underground heating pipes? Impecable planning by the contractors if it is. Great Vids Nick, from day one mate. Thanks Al
You chose a great time to take a break Mr Drone. Did you miss what happened at Goodison recently? Anyway, looking at the Pipes coming out of the Dock might be for Fountains when the water comes back in?
Not fountains. They’re pumps.
Mike: as Dunc states, they're pumps.
If you take a close look at the West Quayside at the north end near the 'dam', you will see a large blue tank and a pipe going from it into the water of Sandon Half-Tide under the northern Isolation Bridge. There are pipes feeding the tank, which aerates the water,, which you can trace back to several start points, which includes the pipes sunk down to the old dock bedrock.
Since they shut the valves under the southern Isolation Bridge, they have been pumping water from the a) the bottom of the channel and b) from Nelson Dock to Sandon. That's because the water in Nelson Dock is freshwater from the canals etc and the natural order of things is that that water needs to get to the sea, which was always via Sandon, which is seawater. Nelson Dock has dark blue water (freshwater) and Sandon green-blue (unstirred seawater).
It's why there are valves and manholes located in the southern Isolation Bridge. As the valves in there have been closed since the start of the project it was necessary to keep pumping water from Nelson to Sandon so that Nelson doesn't flood.
When the time is right I'd expect them to turn off the pumps, removing the sinks, and open the valves ajar under the southern Isolation Bridge to restore the previos and natural order.
Now the seat covere have been taken off I definitely think the seats should be darker, would look a lot smarter.
Looks like there is some seating missing in the away end
How was Florida, Nick? Hope your kids enjoyed it.
It was great thanks. Kids loved it
Still some seats in the north to fit, where scaffolding is. Seats in directors area?? Are they concreting the water channel base? Are they going to give you another tour now that more internal work has been done? When will we see some Everton branding on the stadium or exterior lighting on?
There won’t be any more concrete added to the water channel base - it was a dock full of water just over 3 years ago, so doesn’t need ‘sealing’
Watch out for trees with numbers on them... Match them to Ur city taxis or door numbers on terraces
Just wondering are they using the sand from the west dock for the pitch layers
Are they using the sand taken from the water channel on the pitch or is it a different type of sand?
Wondering how big will those trees 🌳 grow to ?
Hello Nick, great videos mate.Do you or any of the viewers know what route the players will take on match days when the coach drops them off at the ground.I mean just when they are at the ground?
The team bus will use the northern access road under the north stand, and will drop the players at the middle entrance of the west plaza terrace on good weather days. When there’s bad weather, the bus will drop the players off at the west plaza terrace northern tunnel entrance (in the north west corner of the stadium).
We are going to have the best stadium in the Championship.
mate I wouldn't be worried unless it's MW20. Half of our defense is out injured and Branthwaite blocks every ball coming his way
The seats look wet in the NE corner, is the roof leaking?
At least you missed the bournemouth game, i hope.
Welcome home, Nick.
I'm not in the CID but I'd guessed that you were on holiday in Florida from the evidence alone. Young family, school holidays, Disney drone footage, pre-edited videos, so rather than pester you with questions, I let you be (Your feared burglar with half a brain could probably have worked it out too!).
It was a little painful listening to you waffling on your first day back but I understand that you had to do that. I hope you get your feet under the desk again quickly, refreshed and raring to go.
still a lot of work to be completed before the end of the year, with the days getting shorter and the onset of bad weather!,not sure it will happen!
Hey Nick, hope you enjoyed your hols! Any idea if the roof of the stadium building part will be painted, or given a coating? Looks a bit gash as concrete from aerial view.
Same for the terrace steps, will they remain as concrete, or will they get tiled/paved?
Cheers squire, keep up the good work.
The roof will have a grey sealant applied, and the concrete terrace will be left as it is.
@@rosse6705 Cheers squire!
Good morning, aren't you annoyed by these seats that aren't symmetrical? Several conflicting paths, could have turned out better
Which seats are you referring to? Inside the stadium or outside on the terrace or plaza?
@@DuncTheBlue1878 Inside the stadium, there is no symmetry in some parts of the stands
@@Weather-j9m If the seating layout was all symmetrical, it would be a characterless, soulless, monotonous and boring…like Leicester’s and Southampton’s grounds
The roof that you're zoomed in on from around 7:05 Are these going to have some sort of black/grey final layer put on, rather than the current concrete colour? They look black/grey on the designs.
Also, is that really how the finished movement joints on the silver roofing is going to look?
Yes, dark grey sealant screeding will be applied to the flat concrete roofs
Adaam:
1) Re rooves, yes, there should be dark-grey sealant applied in due course.
2) They will still wait for final settlement, I suspect, before lowering the 'covers' but it will never be fixed in place permanently as it has to operate as an Movement Joint, after all, with flexibility.
Florida in August? Rather you than me.
Will look quality for game vs Wrexham at home next season
Are they building new car parking too or is everyone going to be parking at CostCo?
EFC will not be building any car parks. Public transport, walking and cycling are the future. IF any car parks are built that will only be down to private investors taking a punt in the future.
EFC will be building a car park between the water channel and the Mersey but won’t be for the fans to use
It's odd that my reply has gone AWOL. As Dunc states, now, the Car Parking on the West Quay that is being prepared currently is really only for a very select few VIP's/Directors/Stadium Staff and Disabled Spaces, even on non-match days, never mind the reduced capacity on match days due to a portion of the space being used for the outside broadcasters' vehicles.
The focus has been on people using Public Transport, cycling and walking. Any other car parking will be down to private investors taking a punt on an unreliable demand curve in the area.
Its probably nothing but, is the sand that is being laid over the blue piping for the undersoil heating being taken from the channel being dug out that is to be flooded ?
I doubt it. The sand being laid on the pitch area will at least have had to be treated by washing out all the salt. The sand that was used in bulk for the dock infill was taken from the bed of the Irish Sea and will have a high salt content, which is not great for a grass 'lawn'. So, whilst it IS possible that they took the sand way for treatment and returned with it after treatment I suspect that they took excess sand away a long time ago and treated it previously.
Happened to your left eye nick?
Nothing mate 🤷♂️
Did you get in a fight with Mickey Mouse in Florida? 🤣. I thought our Nick had a bit of a nick near his eye as well. Glad you had a great holiday. Love your videos. I'm following the progress from the west coast of Canada.
Anybody tell me if and when our name is going to be emblazoned on the stadium exterior like they have at city, arsenal etc?
EFC will add branding next year but, due to the Heritage Police, it’s likely to be low key
The team might play better on the sand ?
Some of them looked as though they were trying to run in quicksand last Saturday
Anyone know where the statues are gonna go
The statues are staying where they are
Probably 4 at the back, 5 in midfield and 1 up front😂😂
@@billytoffee66 😆
@@DuncTheBlue1878 Really? Why not take them to the new stadium
@@Deadpaul-19078 The club haven’t told us why, you’ll have to ask them (but please don’t hold your breath waiting for a response)
Got serious doubts this will be finished for hand over by December. Even more worried what will happen when they hand it over to the clowns who run our club
The only big jobs LoR have to finish outside are the pitch and water channel.
From what I’ve seen of the inside, there’s still a lot to do, but I think they’re on track
It won't appear to many to be 'finished' when LoR complete their contract as they're not responsible for the customisation. I don't doubt that LoR will complete in Nov/Dec but I do wonder how fast and well the customisation will go with the sub-contractors under EFC's management. That said, EFC are sued to dealing with sub-contractors at GP.
It might be harsh to assume that FM's poor, slightly unlucky, attempts to break into the elite will automatically transmit to the Directors responsible for stadium management, which is a 'different ball-game' (pun!).
What a soul less, boring ugly stadium... Come to think of it, thats xactly how you would describe the football that will be played there...Anfield has character, style, history, this dustbowl is perfect for neverton fc
