The reason for this shows failure is because America expected her to be like her “Karen Walker” character and in real life she’s nothing like Karen walker, there were some pretty awkward moments during this talk show, and some very awkward moments of silence... like she didn’t know what to say next. Haha
The failure was a group of suits dictating cookie cutter behavior and segments to Megan. I've seen her in concert twice with Sweetheart and if she'd been let to be herself and do it her way she'd still be on. Zilch to do with not being Karen - she wasn't Megan on this show. Corporations are the cancer of this country. Should be abolished.

However, maybe it’s just me, Megan being a talk show host doesn’t make me want to see episodes of her in this mode. I guess I like and always will like her character in WILL & GRACE more than her doing talk shows. Sad but for me true.
I don't think the public was aware of how ordinary (and kinda boring) she was in her real life after Will and Grace. That first sketch just had this odd awkwardness. You can really tell who is good at this stuff and who really isn't.
