What a nice surprise to see you reviewing this ride ! I've been riding it since I was pretty young and I definitely have a soft spot for it as you do. I think the layout is nothing spectacular but it's a fun family thrill ride. I took my sister on it as a first looping coaster and she absolutely loved it ! Also this ride has such an iconic roar that you can hear from quite far in the park
I completely forgot about the roar! Thank you for reminding me! It's so wonderful to hear what the ride means to you and your sister. I completely agree with your thoughts, too
Afaik when Disney wanted to get this coaster they actually contacted Pinfari directly to get a TL59, just like the one in Aalborg. And yes its still insane to think about Disney wanting to get a Pinfari. But Pinfari was so popular at the time that their schedules were fully booked and couldn't deliver anything to Disney within the timeframe, and instead directed them to Intamin. Intamin was available at the time and culd build a clone of the TL59 within the timeframe. And that is how Disneyland Paris ended up with a pseudo Pinfari.
@@NorthernRidesYaBoi True. I mean one of their only actual smooth coasters is their FC80 model, which only one was built of at Wiener Prater. And Pinfari went bankrupt a short time after making that anyway. I think Interpark still sells the model but like, no buyers anywhere in sight afaik.
@@drdewott9154 I'm very intrigued to try the one at Wiener Prater. It looks fairly more unique than your typical Pinfari. I have also tried a unique coaster from them at Gardaland called Ortobruco Tour. It has wacky worm trains, but the track is much more similar to something like a Zamperla Family Coaster and tracks quite smoothly
I like to imagine that Michael Eisner was sitting in a room with Intamin, Intamin was showing him a couple different coaster pictures for reference, then the TL59 comes up and Eisner says "Yes, THAT! Give me that EXACTLY!"
Tbh I didn't know this coaster existed. I find it pretty hilarious that you can find a layout like this at TWO Disney parks. At least they didn't go with the cheaper Pinfari option
i will say i found much less force than you did, for me the first drop = weak floader, second drop = alright floater, and the best loop i have tried. the roughness didnt bother me, exept the last ride where i got a small headic from it. i guess the thing that im trying to say is i think its ok, but... i have vildkatten, and no clone trying to be it can beat it. great video as always tho❤
Finally someone who gives love to this coaster that to me is really under-appreciated as a kid I remember being amazed by this coaster and the roaring sound that it made and back in the day it had wood planks under the tracks to simulate that it was abandonned mine tracks Also I feel like this ride deserves more copies in other disney park but upgraded idk like a longer layout or even an indoor section in a temple anyways I'm glad I'm not the only one who stan this coaster
@@NorthernRidesYaBoi they removed it in paris because it was made of real wood and started to rot and became a safety hazard but they were supposed to come back in 2014 but DLP were broke at the time and canceled the studies for the planks still hoping they'll bring this detail back it really made the difference It's like removing the planks from big thunder mountain it would look pretty ugly and like a generic coaster
If this was a Vekoma it would be burned down ... ;)...just hate this ride...painfull painfull and painfull....but it looks ok, espescially in the time it was made. Euro Disney made big losses and therefore cut down the cost. Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom turned out to be a thin coaster with some theming. Head banging...leg problem ...painfull turns... bleh
I had an awful experience in this ride. I didn't know anything about it when I went to Disneyland, so I started to wait in the queue for almost an hour and when I finally get to ride it and ascending the lift hill, started pouring rain. Heavy floodish rain. All the droplets of water hurt my face. And then we got stuck in the final brake run for almost 5 minutes, so I got drenched. Also, I found the ride nothing spectacular. The trains give the rider a very poor vision of the surroundings so you can't fully apreciate the theming. I would give this ride not more than a 6, is too old fashioned now.
I'm sorry to hear about the rain experience! Regarding your thoughts on the ride itself, I completely understand your perspective. The view is definitely disrupted, and it's nothing spectacular. But I definitely developed a soft spot for it

The transition at 2:30 has got to be one of my favourite transitions EVER
Much appreciated! 😂
i rode this coaster 16 times back to back this summer its amazing, i also adore Goudurix its just amazing
I'm pretty excited to ride Goudurix one day! Looks very fun and I enjoy old Vekoma loopers
I have good memories associated with this ride back from 2019 so I really respect it
Love hearing there's some love for it!

Very interesting!
And it's probably better than what Pinfari could've actually made

Yea it's a really odd coaster overall. And while it is a Pinfari layout, I'm glad they got the Swiss bois to do it 🤣

I wish those wood planks would've stayed. Looks like they're still fitted on Raging Spirits!
Glad to hear more love for it, as well
