At 3:10 into the recording, I was in tears for the crystalline sound and especially the men's voices that evoke such emotional tone. Years ago, singing under Ryan Heller, I started to hear and experience the Lux Aeterna as I think Lauridsen meant the music to be experienced. Thank you LA Master Chorale for this emotional recording.
Merle, I discovered this independently and found your comment. Years; this recording moves me to tears, too. And in the "Agnus Dei," I cannot hear "sempiternal" without the tears flowing. Wonderful to find that you, too, were moved by this.
Merle, I was searching for voice tracks for the choir--the Columbia Chorale will be singing Lux Aeterna in March--and found your comments of five years ago. Merle, I listen to the Los Angeles Master Chorale's recording often. Lauridsen's Lux Aeterna is one of my favorite pieces of music, and this recording in my estimation the best. We have this in common, too, dear friend.
I've sung in choirs my entire life and the lux asterna holds a special place in my heart. We are so incredibly blessed to have Morten Lauridsen to share with the world :)
Best with headphones, be perfectly still, listen with all your mind, close your eyes.......if you are in touch with your soul then feel it being drawn up to heaven.....
Haunting and arresting, one of the most beautiful and emotional pieces of music I’ve ever heard. Just so drop dead gorgeous things ever created.

The best chorale that I’ve had the pleasure of seeing live. This piece gets me every time
This is the music that is heard in Heaven. Glorious... breathtaking... beautiful. 💕
Touches the heart. Great performance.
