See my video REFUTING Roman Catholicism. ✅ 10 Roman Catholic Church Teachings That Are FALSE and UNBIBLICAL… (Ex-Catholic Speaks) (53 minute video) ua-cam.com/video/I_yN0z4uHsY/v-deo.html
Hey Matt, Catholic here. I watched both videos of yours and I unfortunately heard a lot of confusion about what the Catholic Church is and teaches. Would you like to connect and have an open discussion on these 10 teachings of the Catholic Church that you think are “false and unbiblical”? (I’m Italian like your very wise nonna) God bless you. Federico E.
The Catholic Church is STANDING on a SINKINGGGGG SAND - to HELLLLLLLLLLL !!! PRIMARILY because the Catholic Church has been MAXIMIZING Mary AT THE EXPENSE of the Lord GOD Jesus !!! And, is MAXIMIZING the Apostles AT THE EXPENSE of the HOLY SPIRIT !!! The Catholic Church MISTAKENLY THINKs - in a BIG FAT WAY !!! -- that WHAT the Lord GOD Jesus PROMISED to Peter in … Matthew 16:19 - “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” John 14:13-14 - “And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me for ANYTHING in My name, I will do it.” ……………………………. are TRANSFERRABLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!! ……………………………………………………… NO. NO. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHH !!!
PROOF: WHEN yourrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Catholic Priests pray and ASKKKKKKKKKKK GOD for “ANYTHING,” does GOD “ALWAYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS GIVE IT to them” ??? …….. ANSWER: NO. NO. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH !!! What is the “SINKING SAND” ??? ……………………………….. The BOOK of LIESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS called “Catechism of the Catholic Church” (CCC), which, MOST HERETIC TEACHINGS are about Mary. It teaches that Mary: #1) “did not lay aside this SAVING OFFICE, but by her manifold intercession continues to bring us the gifts of ETERNAL SALVATION” (No. 969) #2) Is “Queen over all things…” (Paragraph 966) #3) Is “Mother of God” (Paragraph 495). But the Bible SAYS: “… For the child within her was CONCEIVED by the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 1:20 ………………………………………………… How can Mary be the Mother to SOMEONE CONCEIVED by SOMEONE ELSEEEEEEEEEEEEE ???????????????????????????????? ……………….. HOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW ??????????????????????????????????????? Mary was JUSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT a SURROGATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Mother to the Lord GOD Jesus !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You Catholics are IDOL-WORSHIPINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG Mary !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEWAREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE (!!!) my dear IDOL-WORSHIPING Catholics: Revelation 21:8 --- “But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, IDOL WORSHIPERS, and all liars-their fate is in the FIERY LAKE of BURNING SULFUR (about 2,192°F). This is the second death.”
@@thejerichoconnection3473 I was going to say, I will check that video out sometime and see what he is saying. The bottom line is that either Jesus is the Christ prophesied in the Old testament, in which case he is King of Heaven and Earth and the last and eternal Davidic King. That being the case, he has a steward over the house (who holds the keys and governs whilst he is away) and his queen is his mother. However if you ignore these things you end up being very easily misled.
@@BensWorkshop unfortunately he’s not saying much. His argument is always the same: I don’t see this particular teaching in the Bible, so it must be false. You know what the saddest part of this video was? That priest that supposedly supported him in his decision to leave the Catholic Church. That’s inconceivable to me.
@@lionoffireraw Thank you Matt for your wonderful testimony! I’m looking forward to watching this one here. Thank you and God bless the work of your hands 🙏❤
Like what? I didn't watch the video so let me guess. We worship statues, the saints, and Mary? Apparently Purgatory isn't in the Bible? Or is it the authority of of the Pope? Maybe it's the fact that we pray the Rosery. Which is it? I have heard all of this before and all of them have been debunked over and over again.
We ought to pray for them brother. Unfortunately, the evil one broadcasts on the same frequency as The Holy Spirit. Boy says he never prayed with rosary and that’s the problem right there. Pray on rosary every day and that alone will make you wiser and stronger. That’s the best advice I can give. Don’t knock it till you try it folks.
@@rangers94ism "Like what?" [proceeds to list everything wrong with Catholic theology]. Are Catholics that blind? The RCC has the arrogance to excommunicate (i.e. damn people to hell) by their own self-appointed authority. This is no different to JW's. If I leave any protestant church for another, no one will condemn me to hell. Only God can do that. It is not hyperbole that if not for the Reformation, the RCC would still be burning witches at the stake, and excommunicating believers who think for themselves. The RCC declared many wars killing protestant Christians just because we didn't submit to the pope's authority. No different to jihadi muslims or tyrannical kings from the middle ages. Oh yeah, and the earth goes around the sun btw
@@MoistVegan No definitely not! The Rosary was given as a series of prayers for the huguenot massacre in France on the 23-24 August 1572 estimates of deaths at the 2 day St Bartholomews Massacre range between 5,000 and 30,000 the exact number is not known. Now show me where in the New Testament it says hate your enemies and murder them on the streets wherever you find them? Or show me where in the New Testament Jesus told us to do such things?
If another person carries your prayer to Jesus, he is still the sole mediator between mankind and The Father. Saints are more alive than us. As long as you are not trying to conjure them, God will let them know we ask their help to get a “yes”. It’s a very community and representative faith at its essence. Jesus is good with that. Queen mothers of kings also interceded with The King for the needs of prople, as did prophets.
What was going on at the yea transfiguration dead people as you call them lots of so called unbiblical stuff going on , or the saints are alive in Jesus as true Christian’s believe
Really pleased I have come across your videos. My husband was also brought up as a Roman Catholic. He knew alot of the doctrine but had not studied the Bible. He had an epiphany one night which shook him immensely and realised that God is Holy, Just and Good. He started coming to a small congregational church with me, was baptised by full emersion and eagerly read his Bible. Such a change. I also appreciate your connection with "Living Waters" and Ray Comfort. His witnessing youtubes are very calm and loving. Blessing from Western Australia.
Thanks for your testimony! Praise Jesus! Grew up in Catholic church as well, schools, mass, holy days. Their doctrine. Left the church in 20s and was lost for a long time. Always believed in God/Jesus but was kind of like you. Fast forward to 2022 Bible believing and born again. God is Good :) Took me a bit longer to get there but I'm here and that's what counts. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Prayers for all to come to Christ.
I left roman catholicism 40 years ago for a bible-believing fellowship that actually sat around as a group and together read and studied from the King James bible. I'm now 70 and thank God daily that he led me out of catholicism, and I never missed the mysticism, superstition, the man-made traditions and especially the outright heresy (Mariolatry) I was taught as a kid for eight years in catholic grade school. Once I put my faith in the solid words of that bible, I became fully persuaded that it is the truth. For me, there was never any going back to the rosary beads or holy water, lol. Paul gave us the gospel of our salvation in I Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV.
We can examine the Word or we can let the Word examine us. The former gives us knowledge, but the latter gives us wisdom. The most authoritive point of reference is the Word, well above any Church leader.
I grew up as a very nominal Catholic, but became a Hippy. I found Christ while in High School, in 1971. I have been on an amazing journey with Jesus Christ ever since.
A believer in Jesus Christ is sealed with the Holy Spirit. That presence of the Holy Spirit will guide you away from false religions and false teachings if you "Seek ye first the kingdom of God".
Blessings, brother! My wife, who grew up Catholic, went through a similar experience. We are both born again, Bible-believing, bought-with-the-blood followers of Jesus Christ. I really appreciate you testimony.
I used to be Protestant for 23 years. What you said about being born again makes no sense at all. How can you be born again when there is no water or spirit in Protestantism. It's just one dopamine hit after another from the music and a good Ted Talk.
@@marcokite Sorry, no popes in the Bible and I’ve read it cover to cover several times.Jesus is the Rock referred to in Matthew 16:18, not Paul.. Jesus’ statement to Paul was a play on words and a play off Peter’s name, not an assignment to be the first pope. When Jesus said, “Upon this rock…” he was referring to Peter’s earlier statement "And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. He is the rock of our salvation - no one else.
Wow, thank you Matt for sharing your journey of faith on a public forum. This is inspirational and it will be a blessing to many who hear your testimony. We serve a great and mighty God. Thank you Jesus!!
I agree, some of their teachings and practises don't seem right. But most of it is right. It's discerning what's right and what's wrong, and disregarding what clearly is wrong. I'm struggling with finding an alternative that is authentic. Almost all the protestant denominations have gone woke, marrying divorced couples, and blessing same sex unions. And that's a step too far for me. So I'm finding fault with just about all of the ones I've seen, although I haven't been through every single one of them. My instinct is to hang on in RC church and disregard what I don't accept. Some prayers I don't join in. I treat their statues as art pieces only. You get the idea. It's what I bring to the church that counts. My worship. What they do is up to them. I don't know what others make of that. It's as you say though, you have to go with what feels right to you, and everyone is different.
A great testimony. And how wonderful that your family were saved also. My journey as a young adult came about through the realisation that if my parents values were followed, not only was it false but it would lead to my self-destruction rather like themselves. I started reading the Word of God and found the problem that I really had was my own heart, viz. sin and the good news was and is, that salvation was and is by grace alone and not by good works or, by trying to be a good person. We need to follow our rescuer, where He leads us.
Thanks for sharing Matt. I had a similar experience. After reading the Bible I came to the same conclusion. Those who believe in pergatory are not following the real Jesus. They are being deceived.
I've heard the flipside of this from people who left the protestant church for the catholic church or orthodox church. I've come to understand that part of trusting God is trusting that He will put faithful believers in the church they need to be in when they need to be in it. He's shepherd, I'm the sheep and I'll let him lead.
Jesus never called anyone to become a member of any religious organisation, Catholic or protestant. He called people to believe, repent, sin no more, love God, and love your neighbour as you love yourself.
Jesus said to Peter, "You are Rock and on this rock I will build my Church." (Matthew 16: 18) Jesus said "build," as in to create a structure. Jesus built His structure on specifically chosen human beings Peter and the apostles.
Thanks, Matt. I left the Catholic church in my late teens after a friend at college invited me to her Protestant church. In my time with the Catholic church, I found the Sunday routine too ritualistic, among others.
@@reginald6803 The problem is that people like you dont even know what the church is. You think its the roman government. You think its buildings. You think its pagan rituals. Jesus says exactly what the church is, the body of Holy Spirit filled believers. John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. You cant "see" the church. It is made of people who actually believe in Jesus Christ. Not people who attend a weekly sacrifice that Paul in hebrews 10 told them to STOP.
@@annb9029 Paul literally wrote to hebrew "christians" still performing sacrifices. Thats why he wrote the letter. He didnt write them to tell them about the OT. He wrote in present tense. As in, literally today, in 2024, ROME sacrifices Christ countless times every day. Paul said, priests stand daily, offering often times the SAME sacrifice. You know how rome describes the mass? as the SAME sacrifice. Use your brain, use your eyeballs, Jesus said people with eyeballs wouldnt use them, its obvious.
You’re right, brother. Jesus did not tell the Apostles to follow rituals and incantations, or stringent requirements. Paul said that faith works by Love, Agape. And in Romans 14, whatever is not of faith is sin. We can’t believe many of the teachings of the Catholic Church because they are not of faith but of ignorant or ill designing men. And also like Paul said, they suppress the truth in unrighteousness. And that is precisely why believers have trouble with identifying with Jesus and the True Church. It is because the false teachings don’t inspire faith, but they suppress it and cause us chaos and confusion in our lives . John said in 1Jn 3:19 , we are of the truth. Anything other than the truth will not benefit us.
I left the Catholic Church a year ago. It was the hardest decision I've ever made. It took me three years to do it. But once the decision was made, I too felt that same freedom that you did. I'm where I'm supposed to be and love soaking up all the Biblical teachings. I wish I had started questioning things sooner and hadn't raised my kids in the Catholic Church.
I’m Catholic almost left read the Bible the the catechism realized I almost left for misconceptions not what is truly taught the Bible snd the book by Scott Hahn called Rome sweet Rome made me a better Christian
"‘Weak Catholics become Protestants and strong Protestants become Catholics’ - G.K. Chesterton. Was he a Catholic with a profound understanding of the Church? If you listen carefully, you'll understand.
I did a video this week on 10 Roman Catholic Church teachings that are false. I understand it well. It’s interesting how Catholics quote people and councils. Protestants quote the Bible 🤔
Many leave, but eventually, they come back home. It's just a matter of time and experience. I went through the same thing and had the same thoughts as this guy. God is Great!
The Bible only lists one ultimate authority, Scripture. 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be COMPLETE, equipped for EVERY good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) The man may be “complete” and equipped for “every” good work. That is SUFFICIENCY right there. There are also numerous passages that talk about Scripture being inspired by God (thus infallible and authoritative). The Old Testament was canonised by the Jews, and Jesus affirmed this as God’s Word. The New Testament books were considerate authoritative at the time of the apostles. The councils didn’t “make” them inspired, but only “recognised” them as already being inspired.
Love your story Matt. So glad you and your family are saved. Your dear Nonna, she’s typical of the older Roman generation. I live in a very Roman culture and her words would be on all the grannies lips here too.
Great testimony Matt, I left the Catholic Church as a teenager, always feeling like something was missing and doing something wrong. No offense to anyone who is Catholic because much of my family still are, but I am truly grateful for having been changed to Salvation through Jesus Christ . God bless you Matt 🙏✝️🕊️
I feel sorry for you, because you are the only one in your family got lost, John said, they went out from us, but they did not really belong to us, for if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us, but their going showed that none of them belonged to us, 1 John 2:19, oh, no offense.
@@alejandroumaslay3657 - Yep, great verse to use the one were John was referring to the antichrists. It most likely isn't a coincidence that those disciples who left Christ after refusing to accept his teaching on eating his flesh and drinking his blood, leave him exactly on the verse John6:66.
@@Sean-lv6fx there are unique facts in John 6, so do not jump into conclusions, I’ll tell what? John 6 it is the first mention of the need to consume Christ’s flesh and blood, and it is the only time we see followers of Christ say a teaching is too hard to accept and walking away, there are other times when non believers walk away from him, but here they are his actual followers, there must be a reason for this, and a reason that since apostolic times the church fathers pointed to the eating of Christ’s flesh and drinking of Christ’s blood as the reason the disciples called the the teaching too hard and walked away, Christ taught this very fact throughout the four gospels, a few many examples are Matthew 7:21, Matthew 9:6-8, John 3:16, 3:34, 4:34, John 5:17-23, 5:37, John 7:28-29, 8:24, 8:58, John 10:30-33, John 14:6-11, and John 20:21-28, on all these occasions, Jesus audience recognized Jesus was claiming to be god or at least divine, but no disciples claimed the teaching was too hard and walked away, another reason is, first we must consider when we use this word centrality, well, Christian fundamentalist use this word to assert that Christ’s is the one mediator between god and man and that Christ’s work on the cross is the one and only means of our salvation, it is best summarized by Christ’s claim that he is the way, the truth, and life John 14:6, as you can see, non-catholic Christians are using a “phrase of their own to teach the same thing that the Catholic Church has taught for 2,000 years, and your argument regarding john 6:66 is not something new to me, I already encountered James white which is exactly the same argument as you.
Wonderful testimony. My mom left the Catholic Church at the early age of 11 years when a protestant missionary presented her with a Bible(she grew up in Cuba and "the church" actually frowned upon lay people interpreting Scripture for themselves). Praise God she never looked back and led quite a few siblings to salvation. She was a power house for The Lord
My mom was brilliant. She walked away from a religion that encouraged her to indulge in unbiblical practices and she chose to embrace the true word of God through His Holy Scripture. There are many people who's eyes are opening and they're leaving just as my mom did, praise God.
I also came from a nominal Catholic background. My Father's family was Catholic and my late Mother was Anglican they tried really hard to convert her before she married my Dad but she hung on to her own faith regardless of the pressure. I attended Catholic Primary School run by very unhappy nuns, there was one incident however when I was seven, that convinced me the whole thing was in error. We were waiting in line to enter a classroom for some time, I can't remember what the delay was, but a nun told us we could free souls from purgatory if we were patient and disaplined, ok end of story just went along to please my Father😅 from then on. I became a born again Christian at aged 30 and thank God for this "light" experience.

Right all the early church had sacraments it was not until the 1809s did this easy belivers Christian group came into being , not even Martin Luther believed in that, he had sacraments like Catholics Othodox Lutheran all early Christians did
My first encounter with Jesus was at school (I was 6) When I began asking questions at home by father decided that I needed to attend the local Catholic church down the road. Walked in behind a lady who knelt before a porcelain Mary and crossed herself. I immediately knew that I would not be kneeling before an idol and ran all the way home. I learnt not to mention Him again in my home Thank God He never left me..
Thank you Matt for your story. I grew up in Ireland where the Catholic Church was always a huge part of my life. A few years ago I felt a strong desire to know the Lord Jesus more closely and when I went seeking Him in the scriptures, He opened my eyes to the true simple message of the gospel. After a while my spirit would not allow me to go back to the mass and I had to leave the Roman Church. In God's mercy I have found a solid Reformed Church to attend on Sundays but it is bittersweet because my husband and children remain in the Catholic Church and I feel separated from them,
Thank you for explaining your spiritual journey Matt. That was most interesting. I have gone from the liberal, wishy washy Anglicanism of my childhood village church, in Wales, to a deep appreciation of the truth of the Bible as expounded in a Bible following, traditionalist upholding, evangelical Anglican church, in Suffolk, England. Being a Christian is about our relationship with Jesus as our personal Saviour and through Him, with God the Father, all in the power of the Holy Spirit. In my retirement I trained to become a Lay Minister as my calling is to study, teach and preach the Word, to those who care to listen. God bless you Matt and yours.
That's a really successful story that your sister and parents went with you. You're blessed. Me and my husband need to wrestle with our parents and siblings about that, but we find comfort in our community and in God in our quiet time with Him. I'm reading the Bible to my lonely grandma, she likes it, but I had a conversation about idolatry and she is refusing to stop praying to Marry.
God bless you. I Also did a video discussing 10 false teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. I’ll post it below in case you’re interested ⬇️ ua-cam.com/video/I_yN0z4uHsY/v-deo.htmlsi=z57Jmp6IH1GR3n8X
Hi Matt. Sorry for this lengthy reply, couldn’t resist it. A 100 percent honest testimony of your earlier years and your want for God. In the early years while you were still in school, and the whole family attended all the football matches at West Lake, we attended a after match function, it cost to get in, but the man at the door let the four of us in for free. They started bringing food out and we started eating. You got very annoyed with us, saying you didn’t pay to get in so if you intend eating, you must go back and pay at the door, and we did. After many years when you left the Catholic Church, we asked Your not leaving the church are you, your Answer was, Amazing, you said “I’ll go where God leads me” Obviously we had no answer. And in closing, no wonder your Nona was upset, her sister was I catholic Nun in Italy. Yes we can laugh now. Great testimony. 🙏❤️
When a person becomes "born again" it is a life changing experience. Everything changes, our thoughts, our hopes, our speech, our decisions. This regeneration is the work of the Holy Spirit alone. It happens the moment of rebirth. If you haven't experienced that rebirth you would do well to examine yourself.
You have been born again? Where in the Bible does it say that you specifically have ever been born again? Now remember, everything is in the Bible. So, your life has to be written in it or there's a problem.
Dear, i left catholic church and went to protestant ,then to Adventists but i didn't feel comfortable with those and now i am back in Catholic church because after reading the bible more and more i realised that i was wrong about Catholic church and now i feel comfortable. There's nothing wrong there, something is wrong with some missundastanding we get sometimes!!!! However let's do everything for the glory of God without criticism!
See my video from last week: 10 Roman Catholic Church teachings that are false and unbiblical. it’s a good breakdown of the doctrines which are in error.
@lionoffireraw I really feel strong in Christ in a Catholic church! The holy bible is always with me that's how I learn how I should live my everyday life! Some other protestants have false doctrine!
It’s not about feelings, it’s about aligning oneself with truth. There are too many obvious doctrine in the Catholic Church. And the church teachers that these are authoritative teachings. Yes, there is error in many Protestant churches also. That’s why I don’t attend one of those churches in error either!
@@lionoffireraw I just follow my Jesus, I am not available for any judgements anymore! If you think that you did the right thing for you that's okay! Let all we do be of the glory of God . In Romans 14:5 and Rom14:13-23 Say it well!
Really bucking the trend of everyone saying they’re becoming Catholic and orthodox. We need more like you to share so we can see that many are actually leaving Catholicism and Orthodoxy for evangelicalism/protestantism and gospel oriented churches. 🎊 🎉
tbh I've never heard that "everyone is becoming catholic or orthodox" except on youtube. Is that a thing in USA? I live in Europe and I know a lot of catholics, but not a single person who came to faith and joined RCC. It's rapidly dying out, empty churches everywhere. So I'm quite curious what is this trend that youtube keeps talking about. Though I have to say, the vast majority of catholics I know in my country are pleasant, loving people, shining with light of Christ. This starkly contrasts with catholics of youtube 😐 If youtube was my only source on RCC, I'd think it to be a hostile cult bent on domination and showing off pride. Thankfully that's not the case irl.
@ hello 👋. Warm greetings. Yes this trend is definitely an American thing. Particularly among men and even more so among young men. Many of these people are disaffected with Protestantism here because they feel it’s not as historically ground as the RCC and OEC and it is unable to stand firm against the culture here which is growing worse day by day. Many of these people also feel that the Protestant churches are to contemporary and don’t treat God as holy. They call Protestant church services as “rock concerts and Ted talks”. I disagree with these sentiments but non the less it’s what a vocal group are saying on the internet. I have no doubt that in reality very few of these people will stay in these churches for the long haul. I think I saw a study once that 40% of Americans change their religious affiliation within their lives from one Christian group to another. It’s funny, in rejecting American culture they embrace American culture by being so willing to change their beliefs. Hope this helps and I’m willing to respond to any other questions
I think the Catholic and Orthodox is here in the US I’m Catholic, it seams they are behind the time there doing what we did years ago going to evangelical churches and now people in the USA are wanting traditional Christian churches not mega churches, just my opinion
In the USA people are leaving evangelical church's and liberal Protestant churches for eastern Orthodox churches, then Catholic Churches, then even old Protestant churches like the conservative Anglican church of North America and the conservative Lutheran church missionary synod, those Christian churches are growing, they are wanting Jesus and apostolic succession meaning tracing the church back to Jesus and the apostles, not just a Bible talk snd rock music, ps I would never say my evangelical friends are not Christian I have some as friends, just not historic .
That was very powerful you will reach some pepole out there that need to hear does words. because the Lord is trying to let them know the way but they don't know any other way, but they can feel that there's more to it. and now they can see that there is thanks to you and the words you're speaking. Again Thank you and Thank God for you.
Bro debate sam shamoun. He is an ex-Protestant and he has 1-3 hour explanations decimating the lie of Protestantism. @shamounian I’m praying for you brother, this is not the way to go.
@@lionoffireraw St Ignatius of Antioch, follower of John the Apostle (~100AD) See that you all follow the bishop, even as Jesus Christ does the Father, and the presbytery as you would the apostles; and reverence the deacons, as being the institution of God. Let no man do anything connected with the Church without the bishop. Let that be deemed a proper Eucharist, which is administered either by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude of the people also be; even as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church. -Letter to the Smyrnaeans, Ch 8 What church is Ignatius (and John the Apostle likely) talking about? You are absolutely right Sam would set a non-Catholic straight in no time!!! If you want to know the truth about the Catholic Church listen to his videos and learn!!!
Who told you it’s a 4 century invention I bet a evangelical not even Martin Luther would say that we have a line if Pops back to Peter you can not like Catholic teaching that’s ok but it’s false to say it was invented in the 4 century Orthodox would disagree as well , really it’s history you don’t have to rely on Protestant misinformation the internet is free , you could say you don’t like certain teachings but to deny history is just silly people can google
Praise God 🙌 and glad you were able to walk out of spiritual ignorance. I love catholic people but not the church at all. Many awful ppl in that system made my moms life so miserable. She was Irish Catholic off the boat first generation (or 2nd?) in Canada. Her mom was raised Catholic and her granmother also. We still have my grans Catholic rosary Bible here, and some pictures of the Stations of the Cross, but thats all. I was considering joining the church too years ago, but I cant honestly do that now that i know better.
And where do you rate the sacrifice of the Mass to Jesus where the body of Jesus is eaten and blood of Jesus is drank daily? I noticed you did not make a comparison to that daily event. Why is that? Peace!!!
@@racerx4152 if the Catholic Church build by Christ alone with the authority of His Father, Lord of heaven and earth through His apostle Simon peter only is a cult then what about your church who build by men and by their own authority they are trying so hard to search the scriptures from the word of God itself and they dare rejects and protest against HIS WORDS AND HIS CHURCH. LUKE 9:25 - JESUS SAID "FOR WHAT DOES IT PROFIT A MAN IF HE GAINS THE WHOLE WORLD AND LOSES OR FORFEITS HIMSELF?". ONLY CHRIST THE SON OF GOD CAN BUILD THE CHURCH AND THE CHURCH IS THE BODY OF CHRIST, HE IS A LIVING BREAD WHICH CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN AND HE IS ALWAYS PRESENCE IN THE HOLY BLESSED SACRAMENT WAITING FOR ALL HUMANKIND TO TURN TO HIM TO BELIEVE IN HIM AND TO RECEIVE HIM WITH OUR PURE AND HUMBLE HEART IN THE FORM OF BREAD AND WINE TO FEED OUR SOUL SO THAT WE WILL LIVE FOREVER. THAT IS WHY WE ARE CALLED CHRISTIANS.
I find it utterly ironic that the most devout catholics and protestants dislike the pope, but lukewarm catholics and secularists love him. I could never return the the RCC
Interesting exposition. But if, as you say, there is no “one true church”, then is that not saying that there is no true church at all? It seems that the evangelical church you tried for a while wasn’t the true church. Might Islam or Buddhism be just as valid?
True churches can exist without them being “the one true church.” There are many true churches that exist today. These are churches that teach the truth of the gospel and Jesus Christ. Islam and Buddhism are false religions and philosophies.

It makes me so glad you have your family with you, keep them close, my great Aunt Connie told me that you’ve only got one family and you should value them.
I started as protestant christian and eventually became catholic at very young age. Found that folks leave catholism due to lack if genuine understanding of the teaching . As they say, strong christians comes back home. I’ll pray for you brother. Glory be to God.
You can make valid Biblical and historic arguments for both sides. At the end of the day, Jesus calls us to believe in Him, and membership of any human institution is not a requirement, as all believers are all members of the Body of Christ.

Also, the Holy Spirit does not give contradictory interpretations of Scripture. If the Holy Spirit were truly guiding Protestants, there wouldn't be divisions or conflicting interpretations among them. The presence of such contradictions suggests that the guidance they claim is not from the Holy Spirit. This seems quite clear.
@DarkHorseCrusader I imagine the Protestant heresy of salvation thru "faith alone", for example, would appeal greatly to those who aren't prepared to sacrifice their favourite sin(s).
Same as me brought up in that....than I heard a clear declaration of the truth unfettered... tradition will count for nothing when you face a holy and rightlous god
It is so wonderful to hear your conversion testimony! Glad that God used you as the instrument to bring your family from deception and onto the true saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Great testimony Matt, while I wasn't raised Roman Catholic, as a week-old, baby Christian, I enrolled in the R.C.I.A. at a Catholic church friends of mine attended; as I've stated earlier, it took three months before I realized the many false doctrines in the Roman Catholic church. Growing up in Oklahoma and Texas, I was raised Southern Baptist. Even though I "walked the aisle, said the prayer," followed up the following Sunday evening with getting dunked...I mean baptized, I neither had a clue nor a foggy notion about true Christianity, and the same with many of the guys in my youth group, it was something one did without questioning. I realized I wasn't genuinely saved when I was seventeen, which I thought gave me license to party and to indulge myself in all kinds of carnality...BUT GOD! Long story short, the LORD brought me to the end of myself, leaving me in dire straits spiritually and emotionally...and I called on the Name of the Lord, in repentance (that went on for a while), and He heard me. I now attend a theologically Reformed church (John MacArthur, R.C. Sproul, Martyn Lloyd Jones, Charles Spurgeon, etc.), where we do a deep dive, expository study of Scripture.
It's remarkable that you cite all these Calvinists here, even though Mr Mason emphatically regards Calvinism as false and unbiblical. I do respect you for having a recognized Reformed confessional allegiance rather than just claiming to follow "JESUS ONLY", as many say, without making clear their own standpoint. I wish that, before dismissing Catholic claims, you had read some comparable Catholic thinkers, like John Henry Newman and Louis Bouyer and Scott Hahn.

I was raised catholic, but I am descending from a patrilineal line of Protestants, including my grandfather on my father's side, back to the Reformation in Palatinate. At the age of 17 I converted to the Lutheran confession and now my father is the single exception to the rule within the last 500 years.
I was a good Catholic going every week, raising my boys in it, rosary in which I taught myself, lector, ccd instructor, choir member, etc. Gradually I quit the Marian prayers and replaced those with Jesus prayers. I was frustrated with confession and came home and prayed as if Jesus were the Priest in the booth and I finally felt forgiven. Still I stayed...until a priest did a homily in which he stayed Jesus' resurrection was an advanced form of evolution. I felt sick and quit for 6 weeks but then went back after a while, and visited a few times. Last time was my son got Married in RCC but I didn't take the host. I still feel lost, still searching, but I know I was reborn. The book of Hebrews makes it clear, leaving tradition is painful. God bless!

I started watching your video on false catholic teachings but couldn’t continue. It didn’t make me angry but I felt hurt. It is well known in Catholicism that if you are baptised and believe in God you will be saved. Some evangelical churches perform baptisms and parishioners believe in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. What I’m trying to point out here is that you Matt were always going to be granted eternal life!

I quoted of the Catholic Church catechism multiple times, as well as other catholic resources. It’s interesting to know that you think these resources are wrong!!
It soothe and quite interesting when I see people leave the Catholic Church. It elevates my beliefs and strengthens my faith as a Catholic. I once had a very strong faith crisis and how God made me recovered still beats my imagination. Truth is many are called but few are chosen,. I always love it when God calls me a.chosen.
As a Catholic priest and monk, I agree with your Nonna. I, too, am deeply saddened to hear this account. Ephesians 4.3 says Christians are to "maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." Protestantism of every kind is a rending of the unity of Christ's Body. My own family was Catholic on one side, ex-Protestant New Agey on the other side, with parents married outside the Church. Though vaguely Catholic, I wasn't raised to take dogma seriously or to pay any special attention to the clergy. While I was in my Anglican high school, I read John Henry Newman's conversion story, "Apologia Pro Vita Sua." That convinced me that, if the basics of Christianity are true (Incarnation, Trinity, Vicarious Atonement, etc.), then the Catholic Church of today is the continuation of the apostolic Church of the New Testament that Christ founded. Evangelical Protestant apologetics were helpful to me at certain points, especially against the New Age ideas that I grew up with (reincarnation and karma); but I never could see how it made sense to accept the Council of Nicea on the Trinity and then reject the rest of Catholic tradition. You yourself speak of the value of Thomas a Kempis's "Imitation of Christ," which is suffused with Catholic faith and Eucharistic doctrine. Also, I studied the Protestant Reformation and simply could not accept Calvinism, which is the most logical exposition of Justification by Faith Alone; nor could I accept Luther's treatise "On the Enslaved Will." The great majority of evangelicals today also reject or nuance those doctrines. But once one accepts universal Atonement, freedom of the will under grace, the necessity of perseverance in faith and sanctification if one is to be ultimately saved--then one approximates Catholic teaching. Louis Bouyer (himself a French Protestant pastor who became Catholic) in his book, "The Spirit and Forms of Protestantism," points this out.
Some Protestants are Calvinist, but NOT most. I AGREE that Calvinism is CLEARLY false and unbiblical. It’s a fourth century invention of Augustine who was part of a gnostic cult for 9 years! Below is my video where I discussed 10 Roman Catholic doctrines that are false and unbiblical ua-cam.com/video/I_yN0z4uHsY/v-deo.htmlsi=f4RSP0ciOOpK4IXC In regards to “The Imitation of Christ,” I don’t read Part 4 of the book, which is about the Eucharist. He has that very wrong!
"if the basics of Christianity are true (Incarnation, Trinity, Vicarious Atonement, etc.), then the Catholic Church of today is the continuation of the apostolic Church of the New Testament that Christ founded." No, it's not. RCC added so much unbiblical to God's Word that is has deviated in something totally opposite of the Church Jesus founded - which was NOT the RCC. catholic - small letter, only means universal - whole body of believers in the means of salvation through Jesus' sacrifice, nothing else, and it was first mentioned at cca AD 107 by Ignatius of Antioch, while Christianity- Christians were mentioned in the Acts 11:26. The Church Jesus founded was a movement called "The Way", John 14:6. Mentioned in Acts (Acts 9:2; 19:9, 23; 22:4; 24:14, 22). The RCC, as we know it, has nothing to do with Jesus, it's ALL about Mary and unbiblical dogmas about Mary, sacraments "needed for salvation", i.e. adding works of the priests - a mere mortal humans - to a FINISHED sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, the power of the 'magisterium' that's "instead of Christ on the earth" and man proclaimed saints. And, NO, I'm not saying that other denominations and fractions are correct, they are not, I'm saying that men, in general - because of political power (personal and institutional), influence and control, have totally distorted what Jesus meant for us and how He wanted His Church to be. ps. and NO, I am not a Protestant nor I belong to any other denomination, I am an EX RCC that follows Jesus ONLY.
@@lionoffireraw Calvin went beyond St Augustine in his predestinarianism. Calvin taught a double predestination, that God positively foreordains by an eternal decree the damnation of some. Augustine held, more modestly, that God foreknows that some will be damned by their own choices. In fact, he wrote an entire work "De Libero Arbitrio" (On Free Will) against Manichaean determinism, which he had abandoned and came to abhor. No doubt, Augustine wrestled with a difficult problem in believing that God is absolutely sovereign and that salvation is entirely of grace and that the human will remains free, even under grace. But all Christian theologians have found this to be deep water. It was Luther and Calvin who went in for determinism, which the Catholic Augustinian theologians condemned. The same issue surfaced between Luther and Erasmus. I realize that Calvinism is a minority opinion among Protestants, but it is the most impressive and internally consistent Protestant theology. My point is that, once you have rejected Calvinism, it's very hard to give a coherent reason for rejecting the Catholic understanding of justification as a denial of the Christian gospel itself. The Protestant Reformers would have regarded the majority of today's evangelicals as little better than Rome on the issue of justification.
Calvinism is not the most consistent with the evangelical position. You are correct that it is determinism. This is also what Augustine taught. Both Calvin and Augustine are false teachers. Augustine brought much corruption into the church. The coherent reasons for rejecting Catholicism are found in the video that I posted yesterday. To be honest with you, I have no idea how anyone can actually know what Catholics teach, and not reject it. Although I shouldn’t be surprised, because people do the same with Mormonism, and with the Jehovah’s Witness organisation. I guess if you can convince someone that an organisation is “the one true church”, then people will believe whatever they say.
@@MultiSky7 If one accepts Sola Fide and Sola Scriptura and is a Western Trinitarian Christian not in communion with the Bishop of Rome, one is a Protestant. To deny that would be like me saying that I'm not typing these words in English since I am not actually English and do not live in England and that to call it "English" is imposing a label upon me. I’m not speaking or writing English: I’m speaking SPEECH. Don’t label me! That is nonsensical and unhistorical. Of course, in the ultimate sense, faith is in God and Christ alone. I follow Jesus only, too. The question is whether I am in communion with his other followers i the way that God has willed and commanded and established. Surely you worship and fellowship with some visible group of Christians? How else is one to live in the Body of Christ? Or be baptized or receive communion, howeer one understands those God-given practices? There is "one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of us all, who is above all and through all and in all" (Eph 4.4-6). If you refuse to be a member of any recignizable visible communion of Christians, you are disregarding the apostolic Church's pattern of devoting ourselves to "the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers" (Acts 2.42) and to the command not to neglect to meet together for worship (Heb 10.25). The same Ignatius of Antioch speaks of the Roman Church as "presiding in love" over the other churches. He does not say that to the other churches to whom he writes, and who have a hierarchy of bishop, presbyters, deacons. Already in AD 96, Bishop Clement of Rome wrote to the Church at Corinth to tell them to restore the clergy whom they had overthrown.
I have an important question to ask about FORGIVENESS. If you still feel hurt from past dealings with family, etc, does that mean that you have not forgiven them?
There are no parts of the churchs teaching that is contrary to the Bible. You have not done enough research especially because the Bible is the churchs creation which it formed, protected and promoted since Jesus established the church through his apostles
Correct. He does not know that the NT was canonised by the Catholic Church. Presided by the Pope who held apostolic succession. He said the Church is 4th century invention but we have the popes dated all the way back to Peter. Look at the historical facts please.
There was certain historical criteria used to determine which books were part of the canon. It didn’t require the Catholic Church to do this. These writings were considered authoritative by the apostles.
@@lionoffireraw There were actually many books in circulations. The books were still being written during the time of the apostles and they did not all finish at the same time. The criterias were determined by the Church Fathers, there were 3 to be exact. They also had to determine which books were NOT scriptures. The councils actually did happen to determine these authoritatively whether you think they were needed or not. I presented historical facts yet you refuse to acknowledge it. Be respectful of him and his decisions it was obviously very hard for him. No need to disparage other churches we are all still Christians at the end of the day.
Your analogy reminds me of the mindset of the Jews and Pharisees in Jesus' day. They thought He should be an extravagant, political King that would physically fight the Romans. They couldn't imagine that He would be a humble servant that would give His life for us. God doesn't call the things of this world that are holy in appearances, but those who are genuinely humble and holy in their hearts - those who truly seek Him. Catholicism is like the circumcised Jews in this sense. Your outward works (your "Rolls Royce" appearances) can't save you - and your rituals are not even biblical, but quite blasphemous. I'll ride a tricycle safely to the Kingdom of heaven rather than a Rolls Royce haphazardly to hell, thank you. May you find true salvation in Christ alone, and come to see that the idolatrous works in the Roman Catholic church are misleading you.
Thanks Matt for your videos. Do you mind zooming out a little bit to show the movements of your hands? It looks a bit weird when to see your chest moving in many different directions (I erroneously thought you had no hands, not that that would be wrong) but if your hands are seen as you move them, then you look more natural overall. But this is just a suggestion, not a demand.
Mat I respect your views and your decisions , however,as a Christian brother, let me put forward something to thing about. If you say the bible is the authority than who compiled the bible together. Obviously, the church was there prior to the bible put together, and the church was the authority. God bless
Recognising something as inspired isn’t the same as making it inspired. Those letters were circulating from the time of the apostles and were regarded as inspired.
@@lionoffireraw yes and very true, however, it needed people with an authority to put together the bible. The scripts were never together. The authority of the church has to decide which is genuine and which are not and compile them together and become the bible. The forefathers of the church has done a marvelous job with an authority to do just that.
You are absolutely right!!! Why would anyone trade a priceless diamond for a handful of sand??? Jesus gave us a valuable jewel beyond price in the Catholic Church He founded!!!
@@lionoffireraw Protestantism is man-made. Even the man-made term "Roman Catholic Church " is a derogatory one Protestants used to justify their split from the Church Jesus founded.
@@jaysonb.6669 How so? Jesus Himself founded it. The Church compiled the bible for the mass - where Jesus is present Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in the Eucharist. The Roman Catholic rite is one of 24+ rites in the Catholic Church that can trace its origins back to the one of the Apostles and Jesus. Not so with Protestants and their many deonominations and splits. Their founders revolted from the faith in the 1500s.
@@jaysonb.6669 How so? For more than 2,000 years the Catholic Church has never once contradicted itself in its infallibly defined doctrines on faith and morals. This doctrinal consistency is exactly what one would expect if Jesus divinely instituted the Catholic Church, as it claims. Such constancy of doctrine is unheard of in other religious organizations. Consider the thousands of doctrinal/denominational divisions we have seen in Protestantism in just 500 years. Additionally, it is simply an unarguable fact of history the original church Jesus founded is the Catholic Church. Every Catholic Pope, bishop, priest and deacon can trace his ordination in a valid, unbroken line right back to one of the Apostles. Yet, the question still remains: did this church at some point apostasize? Let’s first turn to Jesus. His words leave no room for doubt. In Mt 7:24-25, Jesus gives the parable of the wise builder who built his house on rock, and whose house would never fall, no matter the storms that would come. Now fast-forward a few chapters to Mt 16:16-19, where Jesus says, “You are Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven.” Now recall that St. Paul calls the church “the household of God” (1 Tim 3:15). Putting this all together, we have Jesus, the wisest of builders, building his house, his church, on rock, and promising the gates of hell would not prevail against it. How could this church possibly fall with a promise like that? St. Paul then makes the powerful statement that the church is “the pillar and foundation of truth” (1 Tim 3:15). Again, how could such a church fall away from the truth, as some contend? Such an event would directly contradict Scripture. In Luke 10:16, Jesus stunningly tells the Apostles “he who hears you hears Me,” and he will be with them “always, until the end of the age” [Mt 28:20]. At the Last Supper, Jesus further promises, “the Father … will give you another advocate to be with you always, the spirit of truth … he will guide you into all the truth” (Jn 14:14-17). Again, the emphasis is on truth, but now guarded by the Holy Spirit and combined with a promise Jesus and the Holy Spirit will never leave them. Also recall Jesus makes these promises to the Apostles. In Eph 2:20 (and Rev 21:14), it is made clear the Apostles are the foundation of the Church - “the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles.” This is powerful confirmation of the perpetual, divine assurance Jesus gives to his apostolic Church - the Catholic Church. Let us look briefly at the writings of the early Church. What again rings out clearly is the Church Jesus founded is “Apostolic”- that its popes, bishops, priests and deacons have succeeded in an unbroken line right from the Apostles. And according to these early church fathers, this “apostolicity” is a hallmark of the true Church. For example, in 110 AD, St. Ignatius, the martyred Bishop of Antioch and disciple of St. John the Apostle, would write, apart from bishops, priests and deacons, “There is nothing that can be called a Church”! This is a stunner if you attend a church without validly ordained bishops and priests - which is essentially all Christian denominations apart from the Catholic Church and her divided Eastern Orthodox members. In 250 AD the great St. Cyprian, the martyred Bishop of Carthage, would summarize our question perfectly: “It is on him [Peter] that he [Jesus] builds the church. If a man … deserts the Chair of Peter upon whom the church was built, has he still confidence that he is in the church?”
I am a born again believer I know that I have been regenerated but I struggle with drive. I find myself neglecting reading and doing the things I want to do for God and for my growth in Christ. It seems like I'll take a step forward and two steps back. Is there any advice you can give me on how to stay moving forward. Sometimes I don't understand why I don't have the drive as other believers and I fear that maybe I'm deceiving myself but I know that my hope is in Christ and Him alone. I appreciate your videos they really are helpful. Thank you
We all grow at different rates. Your first statement was that you know you are a born again believer, so you are on the right path and that is most important. Matt states here in the video that he desires to do the will of the Father. We can find the will of the Father in John 6:40. So by believing we are doing the will of the Father. Unfortunately, many times things are added to the promise of salvation, that we must exude evidence of good works or we are not exercising saving faith and are thereby not on a path of salvation. In this scenario works inevitably becomes convaluted with salvation. So be careful, belief is paramount and each of our individual shortcomings are no less offensive to a holy G-d and we are ALL sinners. So there are all sorts of believers, each one struggling with their own shortcomings, not one better than the other. Many will quote Matthew 7:21, but if you go back a chapter or so you will notice the wide and the narrow path, and if you go back further it starts with Jesus letting us know not to be judging others and to beware of false prophets(or false teachings). Hope this helps.
You may not like it but Jesus is the head of the Church and He appointmented Peter to lead His Church....He told Peter 3 times to feed His sheep!!!! The Catholic Church that we see today is not the same as what was taking place in first few centuries. Here is a list of just some of the man-made changes. The Roman Catholic Church today is indistinguishable from the early church!! 375AD - Veneration of angels and dead saints, and the use of images 394AD - The Mass as a daily celebration 431AD - Start of the veneration of Mary and first use of the term “Mother of God” at the Council of Ephesus 593AD - The doctrine of Purgatory established by Gregory I 995AD - Canonization of dead saints, first by John XV 1079AD - Celibacy of the priesthood decreed by pope Gregory VII 1090AD - The Rosary invented by Peter the Hermit 1545AD - Tradition declared of equal authority by the Council of Trent 1546AD - Council of Trent official accepts 11 of the Apocryphal books as canonical 1854AD - Immaculate Conception of Mary proclaimed by pope Pius IX 1870AD - The First Vatican Council declares the policy of Papal infallibility 1950AD - Assumption of Mary (bodily ascension into heaven) proclaimed by pope Pius XII
@ it’s the exact same church because Jesus is the exact same God. U judge as man judges. Remember the 12 apostles had the same church and no New Testament. You forgot to add the New Testament to your list of man made
@@lionoffireraw I've often seen variants of this list of alleged innovations. They're traceable to the work of the Presbyterian theologian Lorainie Boettner, entitled "Roman Catholicism." I have read all of that very ill-informed book and found it to be of very low quality. Since Boettner was a militant Calvinist, it's odd that anti-Calvinist evangelicals should draw so freely on him. Many of these dates are false or misleading. For example, deceased martyr saints were honored and invoked from the days of the catacombs; however, the process of recognizing them was a local matter that was done by the local bishop approving their commemoration in the liturgy. Canonization wasn't an "invention"; it just became more centrally regulated. Mary was called "Theotokos" (God-bearer or Mother of God) before the Council of Ephesus. It was defined by that council against Patriarch Nestorius's rejection of what was already a traditional expression among Christians. It was also primarily about securing the truth that Christ is one divine person (the Second Person of the Trinity) not just a man in whom God dwelt in a special way. I could just as easily compile the dates when evangelicals came up with the leaflets "The Four Spiritual Laws" and "The Romans Road", and claim that this shows that these leaflets "invented" evangelicalism. That would be absurd. And so is this list.

I felt catholicism likewise.
Grace through faith. Simple. Way too many of their doctrines do not align with the Bible actually says.

Why were you a nominal Catholic?
A believer in Jesus Christ is sealed with the Holy Spirit. That presence of the Holy Spirit will guide you away from false religions and false teachings if you "Seek ye first the kingdom of God".
Bro the holy spirit told my friend jw is the true church
Mine is mormon.
If you are Bible believing you must reject all protestant sects and join the Church founded by Christ; the Holy Orthodox Church ☦☦☦☦☦☦☦

It is impossible for God to have founded more than 1 church.
Paul was talking about the Old Testament
@@annb9029 Paul literally wrote to hebrew "christians" still performing sacrifices. Thats why he wrote the letter. He didnt write them to tell them about the OT. He wrote in present tense. As in, literally today, in 2024, ROME sacrifices Christ countless times every day. Paul said, priests stand daily, offering often times the SAME sacrifice. You know how rome describes the mass? as the SAME sacrifice. Use your brain, use your eyeballs, Jesus said people with eyeballs wouldnt use them, its obvious.
@@rickcasual Wrong. First, you dont know what i dont know. Second, since you objected to my very logical comment, you are illogical.

Sola Scriptura itself is flawed, so that’s where the argument ends.
ua-cam.com/video/72PvtDeiVmc/v-deo.html
The Bible only lists one ultimate authority, Scripture.
16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be COMPLETE, equipped for EVERY good work.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17)
The man may be “complete” and equipped for “every” good work.
I can see why Catholics have a very low view of the Bible. It’s because they are unable to defend their false dogmas from the Bible.

Salvation is by God's grace through simple faith in Christ, in accordance with Ephesians 2:8-9 Alleluia ! Not by sacraments at all.
The sacraments are Jesus and his grace , its not our work
According to the CC the partaking of sacraments are central to their faith which became debatable as early as 16th century.
I learnt not to mention Him again in my home Thank God He never left me..

What a wonderful testimony and to know that your family made the same decision too.

Being in the catholic church is like being in a revolving door, allways moving but not being able to find freedom!
Ps. Baptist is still the biggest Christian block in the USA
That was very powerful you will reach some pepole out there that need to hear does words. because the Lord is trying to let them know the way but they don't know any other way, but they can feel that there's more to it. and now they can see that there is thanks to you and the words you're speaking. Again Thank you and Thank God for you.

St Ignatius of Antioch, follower of John the Apostle (~100AD)
See that you all follow the bishop, even as Jesus Christ does the Father, and the presbytery as you would the apostles; and reverence the deacons, as being the institution of God. -Letter to the Smyrnaeans, Ch 8

One thing is certain - the Holy Spirit does not lead people out of the one, true Church founded by Jesus Christ.
We agree on that.

1 Timothy 3:15
@PaterIgnotus Being a Calvinist you have no control of your salvation.
@@PaterIgnotus You sound like a fair open-minded man. Unfortunately this guy Matt is following his preconceived erroneous beliefs about Catholicism. To be fair Catholics have awful education for years , I was one of those poorly educated but instead of leaving I almost did , I stayed and learn so I never fell for the silly were works based Mary confusion
God bless!

7 Myths about the Catholic Church
Good lord Matt, no wonder why you left the Catholic Church - you never knew the Catholic Church and her teachings. You never came to know Jesus in the Eucharist and never came to know His Blessed Mother.... That's a shame.
I came back to the Catholic Church 35 years ago never to leave again. The scriptures and the Holy Eucharist is what keeps in the Catholic faith.
God bless brother and it is never too late to come back home to the Catholic faith.
I did a 50 min video on ten false doctrines of the RCC. I know them very well!
@@lionoffireraw If you think the teachings are false, then you don't understand them at all.
They are demonstrably false. And very clearly false!
I agree how could you possibly leave something you didn't have a fundamental knowledge of or understanding to begin with!!???
@@waynedyer7651 As the saying goes: Protestantism gets our un-informed and lukewarm Catholics while Catholicism gets the well formed and knowledgeable Evangelicals.
The pope said all religions lead to God. How can that statement be made if he is a Christian .
The pope was speaking only what St. Paul and Jesus was practicing…
Then Paul stood up at the Areopagus and said: “You Athenians (greek pagans), I see that in every respect you are very religious. For as I walked around looking carefully at your shrines, I even discovered an altar inscribed, ‘To an Unknown God.’ What therefore you unknowingly worship, I proclaim to you. Acts 17:22-23
Or the faith of the centurion (pagan) in Lk 7 and Mt 8 when Jesus says “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith.”
Sadly it’s a false catholic doctrine.
I know it’s hard for some to face.
But when one gets honest with the Scriptures, we are led away from such error.

@@lionoffireraw You quoted the Catechism and Catholic resources, and you think they prove the man-made doctrine of Sola Scriptura correct?

Below is my video where I discussed 10 Roman Catholic doctrines that are false and unbiblical
ua-cam.com/video/I_yN0z4uHsY/v-deo.htmlsi=f4RSP0ciOOpK4IXC
In regards to “The Imitation of Christ,” I don’t read Part 4 of the book, which is about the Eucharist. He has that very wrong!
"if the basics of Christianity are true (Incarnation, Trinity, Vicarious Atonement, etc.), then the Catholic Church of today is the continuation of the apostolic Church of the New Testament that Christ founded."
No, it's not.
I have done in-depth research, and this is obvious from my video that I posted the day before on 10 false Roman catholic doctrine.
Council of Hippo, Council of Cathage. All in the 4AD.

Welcome to the family of God, brother!
Leaving the Catholic Church to become an evangelical Protestant is like trading in your Rolls Royce for a tricycle.
Maybe a Rolls Royce with four flat tyres…
Ditching the see of Peter and the real Eucharist for some fake Eucharist with Welch’s grape juice is crazy.
@hv-1944 You can't expect much from fake Christianity
What Evangelical church did you attend? What is a Gospel centered church?

@@lionoffireraw Protestantism is man-made. Even the man-made term "Roman Catholic Church " is a derogatory one Protestants used to justify their split from the Church Jesus founded.
@@raymondvasquez6967 Roman Catholicism is man made as well.
And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven.”
Now recall that St.
@@BornagainEThank you. I really appreciate it
You may not like it but Jesus is the head of the Church and He appointmented Peter to lead His Church....He told Peter 3 times to feed His sheep!!!! Jesus also entrusted the "keys of the kingdom" to Saint Peter. Read in the Old Testament what keys symbolize!!! No matter how much you do not like it nor want to believe it, facts are facts and truth is truth Jesus spoke clearly and plainly!!! Why don't you believe Him?
I addressed that in the video.
Thank you for sharing your story. Mine is similar, it was the book of Romans that freed me. I love how the Lord uses His word, people, and circumstances to call us❤
You're absolutely wrong!!, History proves you're wrong, Scripture proves you're wrong, Church Fathers proves you're wrong, Church Councils prove you're wrong and Jesus proves you're wrong!! Could you please list any of those now a days churches that were around 1500 years ago??? You know like Lutheran, Baptists, Presbyterian, Evangelical, etc..... I can name you the Bishops of Rome that can trace their successors back through the centuries to the beginning to St Peter when Jesus entrusted His Church to Peter telling him feed My sheep!!!! Can you refer to any early church writings of Saints, theologians, Biblical scholars or Bishops going back to the second century????.....you can"t as they were ALL were Catholic!! Tell me the church you attend and I can tell you exactly the name and date that it was started by a mere sinful man or the woman!!!
The church is the body of Christ, those who have been born from above. He who has the Son has life.
I used to go to a seeker friendly church, they have a woman teaching Sunday school, who by her own admission is only a Christian on Sundays - to me that is so dangerous!!!
Jesus is God
Jesus started one church
Jesus said it would last forever
Only one church is 2000yrs old
The One True Holy Roman Catholic Church
The Catholic Church that we see today is not the same as what was taking place in first few centuries. Here is a list of just some of the man-made changes. The Roman Catholic Church today is indistinguishable from the early church!!
375AD - Veneration of angels and dead saints, and the use of images
394AD - The Mass as a daily celebration
431AD - Start of the veneration of Mary and first use of the term “Mother of God” at the Council of Ephesus
593AD - The doctrine of Purgatory established by Gregory I
995AD - Canonization of dead saints, first by John XV
1079AD - Celibacy of the priesthood decreed by pope Gregory VII
1090AD - The Rosary invented by Peter the Hermit
1545AD - Tradition declared of equal authority by the Council of Trent
1546AD - Council of Trent official accepts 11 of the Apocryphal books as canonical
1854AD - Immaculate Conception of Mary proclaimed by pope Pius IX
1870AD - The First Vatican Council declares the policy of Papal infallibility
1950AD - Assumption of Mary (bodily ascension into heaven) proclaimed by pope Pius XII
@ it’s the exact same church because Jesus is the exact same God. U judge as man judges.
Remember the 12 apostles had the same church and no New Testament. You forgot to add the New Testament to your list of man made
@ what church do u attend and what year did it become man made ? You don’t say ? Almost as if you’re embarrassed.
Amen!!!!
Terrific testimony.
The true Church Jesus founded was the Holy Spirit He left with us.
