      Thank you so much! I grow mostly fast maturing plants and leafy greens. I have done a few tomatos, beet greens , banana peppers, etc. I used to use BT for pests, but now I just try to grow enough for me and them. If I am out of town too long, it can be a disaster.

    Mike, I made four of your Downspout Planters. Great Idea!! Because I hate wasting anything I used the disk cut outs from the downspout to make reusable Plant markers, by attaching the disks to scrap pieces of pvc tubing.

    I’m living for this downspout hydroponics!!! 🥰 Bought an aluminum one 😂 and searched the degrees at which it bends and at that point I knew I messed up. About 1,000 degrees fahrenheit 🔥
    I had to take it back to and get a vinyl one. There is always a set back with me not surprised at all 😂 This is the cheapest simplest way on UA-cam. My college budget praises you. 😚 Time for some drilling.

    • @KeepOnGrowin

      Hey, thanks! The pool noodle is soft enough to allow for the roots to grow. Ry not to squash them when you first put them in, use it just to hold the plant in place.

During the late fall and winter, I set some in the yard to get full sun. Nice to meet you. If you have anymore questions, just ask. I also have a Facebook group called Keep on Growin', it says vegan recipes, but it is my gardening too. It depends, sometimes I am eating it quicker than it has time to use up the nutrient solution. I usually fill it about half way and try to maintain that level if I let it go for a long period.

    Also, will it disrupt this system to get rained on?

    • @KeepOnGrowin
      @KeepOnGrowin 6 років тому +2

      Depends on how long it takes to grow your crop and how many openings there are for rain to get in and flood it or dilute your solution. Some plants, like the Pak Choy can handle the flooding while others really need that open space for oxygen intake. I use fast growing greens that will all be replanted in a month or so with a new crop.
