Asalaam alaykum brother. I am glad you mentioned abt praying taraweh at time square. I always tried getting the answer to this question. How is it permissible to pray there with so many bill boareds of possible naked women not only around you but infront of you. Times square consists of many haram activities like places where alochol is sold, and singers sing and dance there naked. I am really trying to understand how its permissible and i just thought that if its done to promote islam. Isnt it better to pray at our mosques? If we tryina show the world we value our religion we should start by showing value to the places of where we pray and we should start praying in our mosques. Thats just my opinion i am no expert nor am i judging anyone. Just help me understand and learn. On how this is conveyed as good thing praying there. Jazakallah khayr.

Mashallah , however when during the “tekbir” the guy with the mic lifted is left hand up which is so so wrong it’s always the right hand up with the pointing finger upwards , unfortunately this looked more like performance and show by him … no disrespect for the people who participated however if something are going to be done it should be done properly …

It is not permissible for a man who believes in Allaah and His Messenger to put his hand in the hand of a women who is not permissible for him or who is not one of his mahrams. Whoever does that has wronged himself (i.e., sinned). It was narrated that Ma’qil ibn Yassaar said: the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “For one of you to be stabbed in the head with an iron needle is better for him than that he should touch a woman who is not permissible for him.” Narrated by al-Tabaraani in al-Kabeer, 486.
