Our goodwill also has the policy that if it’s not priced, you can’t buy it. The get around, though is to catch one of the gals on the floor, and politely ask them if they have a moment they could take it to the back and have it priced for me. I’ve never been told no. But at the checkout I was always told no.
The Goodwill, where I live, allows the cashiers to price the small things and will call a manager for a price if it looks expensive. No not selling and taking to the back here. Thank goodness.
I have bought numerous baby planters over the years and gifted them to new mothers with a faux floral arrangement in them. They go from hospital to kitchen table to baby's room and are usually well appreciated! I really like the predicted value of the items listed when you find them; much easier for me as a viewer!
Growing up, my uncle thought Santa was creepy, too. He would tell us that he didn't want an uninvited bearded guy in his house when everyone was sleeping.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
No! No! Don't remove the purple frame around the horses. It goes with the matting. Goldstone is one of my favorite stones. My grandmother loved it, and I guess she passed that love down to me.
I know it’s frustrating with soooo many unmarked items. I’m gonna play devils advocate and say that here at our stores they will price at the register. However , I do understand the policy of NOT doing so to detour the peeling of stickers in hopes of getting a “deal”. I see both sides
I was talking with a Goodwill employee today and giving my thoughts about how silly it is on their policy when tags are missing. He said their new plan is to put anti theft tags on their items! He was even disgusted with the idea. I find it so sad the road they’re going down. Once in awhile I hear an employee whisper to another about big sales/low sale days. I also heard them talking about how their manager is upset that they got low “roundups” at checkout. Goodwill is so hard on their staff about sales etc. I’m about ready to stop going there all together. ❤ Thanks for another great video ❤
I like the way you are putting the paid/value on each item. I'm a lurker that liked the ending of your videos. This is a great way to keep it going! I am drawn to trivets too. Clever idea on using jewelry boxes to sort your sales. Another great video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
My husband use to work for GW…he said it was a big problem back then with the customers pulling off the price tags. I’m sure you can relate since you too who had a thrift store experienced theft problems
I understand this to a degree - but having a manager price at the checkout really doesn't hurt them - it's getting a price... managers should know what pricing is. So price higher than normal even - many times I wouldn't mind if it was something I really wanted~!
You're better than me with your tolerance. If I knew I might come across something I want, and I could possibly not be able to buy it, I wouldn't be able to shop there. I couldn't put myself through all of the excitement of finding something I love, only to not be able to buy it. 😢 Could you imagine any other store running this way? Is this their thought process?.. "We're in the business of selling, but you might not be able to buy what you want" 😂🙄
Great video. That Christmas tree is an ornament holder. I really like the new format to your videos. It’s so informative and I love it.😊 you are correct about the purse, must be in good condition. I bought a purse at a thrift store that I absolutely loved carried it for about two months where it was connected for the straps broke took it to the cobbler. they wanted $50 to fix it. I said no thanks, I didn’t even pay that much for it lol
I kept wondering why this video was in my notifications.... re-released with add ons... its the directors cut! Lol! I would have grabbed the cigar bands dish, even with wear on the back it would be one of a kind, could be hard to find labels, appeals to tobacco, cigar, advertising, kitsch, so many groups and the cigar bands used in decorating is always a thing. You could almost always walk in a fabric store and find a quilting cotton with cigar bands. Its a masculine touch even in a pretty boudoir. As far as the tags, I have actually a few times, not lately, but in the past I have seen a tag drop off as you pick an item off and land on the next shelf or all the way to the floor. Can't hurt to look if you like the items.
My goodwills were shocked when I told them about the no price tag policy you have encountered. Ours doesn't have that. We are nw indiana michigan goodwill. They are also lowering prices here. I told 5 employees and managers at 3 different stores today. They said they never heard of the no price tags no sale.
Danni I was at my goodwill here in San Diego and found something without a tag so I left it. and when i was checking out i said so if it doesn't have a tag then you wont sell it correct? she's like no its up to the manager. so I went and got it and she gave me a price right there. so I don't know what the standard is. Rachel could put her paintbrushes in that dolphin container too. loved that Scotland plate.
Goodwill blames all of the "unpriced" items on customers trying to cheat them. I'd love to see you (and some of your thrifting buddies) do videos about collecting all of the unpriced items in a cart and dropping them at the cashier showing how many items are put out without tags. Some customers may try that "price switcing" trick - but I'll bet MOST of the time item's lables fall off, or they are just never priced before they are put on the shelves.
TY DANNI...& NOAH. : } ie : TINKER TOYS.... THE DOWELS ARE REALLY EASY TO CUT FROM LENGTHS OF DOWELiNG FROM ALMOST ANY STORE. walmart/crafty section , etc. : } not really expensive either. I KNOW, CAUSE BACK IN THE DAY...MY KiDS NEEDED XTRA DOWELS. : } HUGS....
I agree with unmarked items. Not my responsibility to track down a worker. Showing desire for an item marks it up. Plus, I wouldn't be blamed for removing or switching a price sticker.
I don’t know if you realize it or not, but there was what looked like a brass short candlestick sitting right behind that beautiful dish you picked up that had no price…. you do realize that that might’ve been the stand for it. You didn’t even look for it. If you could check the stand behind it and check to see if it fit it very well could’ve been it. It was only about four or 5 inches tall. Everything I like like the glass cut dish you don’t buy. We definitely don’t have the same taste. That’s for sure.
In California, they don't price most linens or a lot of items. They have 1 set price as marked on the end of each aisle. All blankets, $10 all glasses, $1. etc.
My Goodwill's will give prices if not marked. Sometimes it takes awhile to get a price. Manager has to come up front & then taken to the back to be priced. My Goodwill's have got rid of the color of the day & there cabinets where they lock items up. I only seen one GW around me lock up name brand purses. There use to be one GW bin store around me, but they got rid of it. I think they have gotten kind of pricey. GW is really the only thrift store around me, so I don't do much thrifting. Sad to say.
I just wanted to say that I appreciate you dropping off the end cap portion of your videos. Honestly the music volume was always too loud for me. It seems that you have found a good way to follow the analytics that UA-cam desired and are keeping your viewers who loved that portion happy by adding them throughout.
Noah- Strawberry Jello cake is the BOMB! YummO! Make u a Butter cake mix, cool it down n use all hot water to make ur 2 lil boxes of jello n poke with a fork all over ur cake n pour ur jello on it! Put in fridge, then when u serve it; put cool whip on it! I just frost the entire cake with cool whip! My fav cake! Js! ❤😋
the music was way too loud. i would have to go to the LV Goodwill main offices and discuss the lack of prices vs pricing at register, (the extra costs for employees to check shelves is a good point), and to please put tags in more sensible places so there would be less tearing of them which many times ruins the qr code too. these are things that make me unhappy to shop there. you got some great things. your knowledge is awesome. thanks for sharing and allowing me to vent.
Because the Employees can't put items aside to buy and aren't allowed to buy anything until their shift ends, I think they don't price it on purpose knowing it can't sell and they go about the store picking up their pieces and pricing them at the back then make their purchases. My thoughts on this subject. Who knows
Everybody should take the untagged stuf to counter after awhile they will eithwr tag it or sens it bacm thrkugh and find out why it doesnt have a tag. I dont think the customers are taking them off i think they never put one on it.
I'm questioning why so many items don't have tags? Are people removing them? I know Danni was able to get non tagged items at checkout, the policy has changed, and items don't have tags. The tags seem pretty sticky and hard to remove. Danni I don't blame you for not taking the items up to checkout it gets old. Perhaps an area could be at end of aisle to put non tagged items. I also agree the tags placed over label is a pain seeing a label is an incentive to purchase. Keep up the good work.
I would have requested a price. Most of the time they give you a little deal when there's no price tag. Im not a reselker, I like to use those blankets for my dog crates.
If Goodwill wouldn't put their price tags over the maker information they might no have so many items without tags. I hate that they do that. I think all thrift stores do that. I have peeled back several tags to see important info.

Like the new video format with the selling prices on the screen! So helpful!
Your little ceramic boots that was cracked was a wooden match holder and on the back was the striker. It was pretty cool even though a little damage.
Always enjoy your shopping trips, you sound like it would be fun to shop with, you always try to be positive.

Hi Noah
When I find something not priced that I want, I go to the employee door, knock and tell them I need an item priced. It works for me.
The Santa ornaments were from Dollar Tree. 500 Volvo drive is the headquarters address.
I love the new format! And what a haul in this video!

I agree, I too loved the purple frame on the horses. Though I get it, it doesn't always work for everyone . 😊
Leave the horses in it's original frame! It's so pretty
Loving the new format Danni. Fabulous haul of goodies too! 💛✌️

My goodwill started that policy of no price no sell however, it didn't last long and they started pricing at the register again. So glad ☺️

I ran into a similar candle the other day off camera. I left it for the same reason. Candles in Arizona would totally melt!
I had a yard sale once in my neighborhood in the summer. I noticed my candles warping and saved them just in time 😂😂😂
The boots are a match-striker the ridge at the back is for strking matches x
Love the new format to your videos!!
Wishing you all the best.GOD BLESS You
Hi danni. The shelf that had the creepy santa bag on it, had a vintage coat from. 1960s hanginng on it.
Loving the new style of video you’re doing.
Are the damaged boots either the piece on the back for matches with a striker?
Apparently, Goodwills training program is not working!
