This iteration of Storm has been white washed, she’s much lighter, has blue eyes, and her accent has been Americanized to the point of unrecognizability. What made storm so relevant to many of us was the fact that she was a dark skinned woman with immense power, and it served as positive representation for dark skinned black people, stripping her of that as we see with this characterization suggests that dark skinned black woman cannot represent blackness and beauty and power that should be celebrated, which is what we are in contempt of.

Storm is more powerful than Magneto, she would win but she always holds back. Besides, I really dislike how they limit her to weather manipulation, specially wind and lightning. Her power goes deeper than that, she can bend the electromagnetism. She is an energy manipulator of the highest order. She can easily bend matter and energy on a molecular level.
Thing is though, that her power and Magneto’s are actually on par in scaling, and Magneto can actually feed on her power as well, making himself stronger. Storm, at the same time, can also tank that energy being redirected at her after having some of her life force being drained as well. And the craziest part about all of that is the main reason this took place to begin with in comics is because the X-Men were storming the castle to just go fight Magneto and stop him once and for all, and while everyone else was attacking him, he still found Storm to be the biggest threat because before their momentary scuffle, she was dampening the electromagnetic field around the area, which was slowly weakening Magneto. And he barely caught wind of it before he basically keeled over from the syphoning of his energy. It’s a close fight, but if Storm didn’t limit herself and fought Magneto with everything she had, and Magneto did the same, I feel like Storm would barely win out, if only because I believe her power scope just happens to cover a mildly larger range of variety of abilities, and most of those abilities would be able to counter Magneto’s, which is no small feat. Omega Level Mutant fights are always gonna be fucking crazy, though

I’m confused how there are people in this comment section who is saying that Storm was light skinned until recently? A simple Google search shows her first meeting with Professor X and she was a darker brown skinned woman. I wish I could attach the picture to this comment. I get that she has been drawn in all different shades of dark brown to damn near white across her career. And I get that black women can birth children of every color despite their own color. But the majority of the time she has always been a dark skinned women. I am assuming, loosely assuming, that a lot of, you are not ignorant, and have some sort of critical thinking skills.
