Hello, do you know any height difference from terrain between the two? BTW of course I expected a better result on Hex beam. I have a Hex myself and had a cobweb for some time in the past. Not very happy with cobweb, yes it's small and gives you the 5 band capability but acutally was performing exactely the same as my vertical fishing pole with a 4:1. Less constructing effort, less horizzontal area, less everything, same result, so I removed the cobweb eventuall. I think I have a video on YT of what I'm saying thought. 73 and thank for this video
Unless egg-shaped, the Cobweb (HF HALO) has it's highest gain in the direction from the feed-point, so did he have that specific type of omni *_''Pointed''_* toward you? That would provide the HALO-Web's highest possible signal since it produces several dB less energy from the side.
Was the X in the exact same position of the Cob when he tried the test? NO, so not a fair comparison is it? You can only make a fair comparison when both antennas are situated in the exact same location and the height above ground. Even if there is only a one inch difference in the site it will make a whole difference.
In answer to your query, I believe the ''Kind'' is a comparison of the performance of one antenna to the performance of another for the point of showing the difference. - Interesting that you felt the need to bring the 11m band into the discussion in this comment section, what are you, a CBer?? Your invective belies it's intent.
you can recognize a real asshole by the fact that he basically sees all CB radio operators as stupid people. As if there are no CB radio operators who are far more educated than you - just because they didn't get a license? You lack not only the intelligence, but obviously also the character.

If you close your eyes and don't look at the S-meter, you can hear no difference between the two, at least not from the recording.
AGC
one's a beam and the other's a nest of dipoles? the hex beam would win out" move along people nothing to see here!? ;)

The results are clear. Hexbeam RULES!!!
Not really shocking for a directional vs omni directional antenna comparison.
Pieh0 And a lot more money too!
@@donalfinn4205 And considerably larger.
I want to see a hex vs another 3 element tribander
I'd bet a trapped tribander would be very close.
AJ2I CQ DX probably. The Mosley 33 rx 6dbd gain. I think the hex is 3.5-4
@@aj2isotadxing Odds are in your favor.
So, your comparing a beam aerial to an omnidirectional aerial and your amazed? I’m amazed at that!
Yup! And I will bet a Vertical on the beach can outperform a beam inland too!
@@Tobytiesdell absolutely! Must have been a blast
One thing you know for sure is you never know.
No brainer

What kind of comparison is that? The Hex beam is higher. How do you compare a two element beam with a compromised dipole? Are you guys a bunch of CBs?
A video for the sake of making a video. Mike enjoyed seeing the fruits of his labor .
