    Thank you for playing Black Cow! Even though it's over UA-cams sound limitations, i can tell that everything is brighter and lifelike. Your system is phenomenal!

    With that equipment you could play a paper plate and it would sound good - classic LP sounds awesome 😎

    Thanks for the video. Can't wait to hear my copy. Supposedly the UHQR vinyl is as pure as you can get. Organic vinyl if you will

    You have to read the inner sheet that explains Clarity/Virgin vinyl and how the UHQR was made. Yes it does make a difference. 👍It’s not colored, the are no dyes. It’s much quieter vinyl. This Steely Dan sounds awesome. Thanks for sharing.

    What are you talking about this is a special vynl that has no dyes it’s basically virgin. It’s not how something LOOKS it’s how it SOUNDS. Pre clean your records to get the surface dirt off then use an ultrasonic system like the degritter which removes things you can’t even see OMG

    Cymbals sound much more open, as do the transients from the keys.

    I think most are use to the black vinyl and it is strange even though there are so many variations now to see the vinyl in a different appearance other than the standard black ..This silver white what ever you call it formula of vinyl might be used because of less static build up but I am only guessing .

    Wow the bass is so pronounced. As well as the other nuances but the bass especially pops.

    Almando! great video and great set-up. You're making me think about picking up this Aja UHQR... I have the 45rpm Kind of Blue, A Love Supreme, etc. and so why not? The vinyl is a specific vinyl recipe, if you will, that ensures smoother, more silent play. All the carbon is removed, essentially. Cheers from Seattle!

      I have a like/dislike relationship with the Dan. Great musicianship, great production, great sonics, but lacking the fundamental energy of music that moves people. Their earlier stuff gets close.

    I'm fanatic about getting every speck of dust off of my records before playing, and you just can't see it with the clear vinyl. Black is the best in my mind.

    I also have the UHQR Aja and I’ve noticed two sonic qualities: firstly it’s a little cold sounding and the bass could have been bumped up to warm up the sound. Second, the vocals are harsh sounding and need to be tweaked.

    • @SmallPersonRoo
      @SmallPersonRoo 9 місяців тому

      @@hestonblumenthal4263not exactly true. I’ve compared the AB and the UHQR with many people and we all agree that the UHQR is slightly more boosted on the low highs which makes the snare sound weird. We think it’s probably because the UHQR was sourced from a copy tape because the original master tapes are lost. Even if you say the UHQR is a bit better, it’s not worth $100 more than you could get a NM AB for.
