    Have you ever wondered how to use the acupuncture point location palpation technique in order to find acupuncture points? In this video I’ll demonstrate how I find the ST36 acupuncture point and the SP10 acupuncture point by using the palpation technique.
    There are endless different acupuncture techniques and this one was taught to me by two of my teachers during my Chinese medicine acupuncture study. It’s turned into one of my favorite ways to find acupuncture point locations!

    It’s hard to know what action to take until you first feel what’s going on. Listen with your whole self. Great video!

    Yowza!!!! I thought I was the only one! I panicked in point location because I could feel points, and it was so personal. Sometimes they would not speak to me. Unfortunately my Chinese professor is all about cuns and definitions. I passed the class, barely. This makes me so happy. When I am fumbling around on my husband's feet, the points light up for me. I can feel a surge of energy. THIS is why I came to acupuncture. As you say, I have to be a good disciple in school. When I am out, Master Squirrel can dance with body energy as she sees fit. My husband felt energy going up the back of his leg as I was holding his feet. Yay! UB at work! I am so grateful for you, Alyssa!!!!!

      Awwwwwwwww, yes, yes and more yes! This message put a big smile on my face! :) I can feel your enthusiasm shining through! Stay connected to that intuition of yours. It will be soooo healing for your patients and effective in your treatments. Happy to hear you passed points class, lol! Soak up as much information as you can in school and learn those books. But then the artful part is combining that with your intuition when you graduate and start practicing. Where are you going to school?

    Thank you for making this video. A practitioner recently showed me how to feel in this way and after some practice I can 🙏 for me it feels like my finger gets stuck in the point, and it feels like it calls me in. No where near that area feels the same. Its amazing. 🙌

    Let me know in the comments ... what do you feel when you practice acupuncture point location palpation technique? We all feel something different. I'd love to hear what it feels like to you!

      I’ve never felt a bead before. But I generally glide my finger lightly along the skin. The acupuncture point will be the spot with the most resistance. Thanks for sharing. Even after a few years of practicing, I still learn something new from these tutorials.

    Thanks for the video Alyssa! Love your content and energy. I usually feel a bit of resistance like Andre said, for example, when running my finger between the tendons from the wrist crease towards PC6, where it stops is where the point is, or sometimes it feels like a light, pulsing energy. Felt a HUGE difference when palpating for ST36 like you indicated, wow! When you feel "hills", do you needle directly on the hill or distal/proximal to it? Thank you again

    • @AlyssaDazetLAc
      @AlyssaDazetLAc  3 роки тому

      Awwwww so happy to hear you are enjoying the content :)
      I love that you feel resistance and a light pulsing. Palpation is so fascinating! Personally I always needle right into those hills. I'm sure you could also needle distal or proximal though. As we know stagnation can be dispersed locally or distally. It'd be a great thing for you to experiment with, try both ways and see which dissipates the stagnations better. I'd love to hear your results! Where are you practicing?

    Hi Alyssa, I've been an LMT for 7 years and certified in acupressure, but I'm curious about doing some self acupuncture- particularly on my Stomach meridian on the legs- would it be a bad idea for me to try this on myself without proper training?

    • @AlyssaDazetLAc
      @AlyssaDazetLAc  2 роки тому +1

      Yes. Do not use needles unless you are a licensed acupuncturist. Acupressure is fine though.

      @@AlyssaDazetLAc gotcha thank you, is there anything else I can do besides acupressure - something similar to ear seeds but for the stomach meridian? Any videos etc you have on Stomach meridian I'd be super interested in.

    Even well before I did Shiatsu Or TCM training i used to show my acupuncturist where the points were if she was stumbling. I thought it was normal.
