People would rock on the ground crying and people huddled around them and people were speaking in tongues while leaders went around making sure all the kid's hands were up and praising the lord. While all of this at the same time they had live music and the lyrics consisted of "we are sacrifices to you god... take control, my life is no longer my ownnn!"

Maybe its because when you were a baby, your mom/dad/guardian took you to the supermarket, and due to the poor eyesight that babies have, everything far was dark or blurry, but you dont feel scared cuz your parent/guardian was with you, so you remember the feel and doesn't get scared.

i'll start this off by clarifying, i am not trying to sound anti-christian in any way. im just letting words spew from my brain to try and explain why 1:01 is so core-shakingly unnerving to me.
the thing that scares me about religiously-heavily-built places, especially things like this, presumably a daycare, the fact that people are obviously made very very happy by claiming their love of life comes from their love of god, people who are so unbelievably happy and content with a simple christian life, not thinking about anything else beyond doing god's work, not thinking about how their life could be any better, barely thinking about anything but their love of god. what makes me afraid in this situation is, what if they end up discovering their god isnt real. how unbelievably empty they must feel. and im not talking about like "wow theyll become like angry cultists like in resident evil theyll come kill me" i mean just like, an unbelievably hollow person, basically dead.
I reiterate, im not talking about the average christian citizen, im talking about like, people in more rural areas with incredibly simple lives who literally do everything they do in the name of god.
again, this is just a mindspew from a deep well in my brain. i probably screwed something up or didnt portray it the exact way i wanted to.

I am christian and have a brother who is way too dependent on the lifestyle. It scares me, too. He's a terrible person dgmw (mistreated me and my sibling) but I also feel terrible for him. To have a life where religion is All there is for you is very unhealthy.

It’s probably the uncanny valley effect, when something isn’t exactly monstrous, but it’s not quite right either. It’s completely normal to feel fear when exposed to that sort of thing.
Also when you feel fear you can always come back to the band part with the funky music :)

@@myl_3229 cursed images are generally images that are offputting, but usually in a funny way or nauseating way. like when people put beans where beans should not be. weirdcore is also offputting, but in a slightly disturbing way. most of the photos are of worn down places, or are edited to seem more ominous.

around when this video came out i used to watch it all the time. back in the days i was a huge fan of weirdcore, dreamcore and even traumacore helped me cope with a lot
im back here after a few years because i had a dream that's been sticking with me all morning. i was at a fancy looking restaurant that didn't even look like one on the outside. i had chocolate bars and there was coffee there. it was weird. at one point i found a bunch of fish and contained them in this sink basket thing. i got upset because some went down the drain. some stuck to the sides of the sink lke they were gross food. fish aren't meant to do that, right?
i got lost at a small place that had shops. a man probably in his 40s or 50s found me and wanted to help me. but before we went searching, i begged him to get me some sonic the hedgehog merch, ive loved sonic the hedgehog since i was a baby so that was nice. but we couldn't find anything of that sort in the end so i gave up. keep in mind that a lot of these places look like the ones irl around where i live today or in the past.
later on we past through a cafe, a house, that fancy restaurant i lost the fish in, and then i ended up somewhere i didn't expect at all.
it was pitch black outside to make the feelings worse. it was almost like it was in a tiny forest. there was a part flat structure where people live in. its dirty and almost abandoned looking. that flat, looked like the one i lived in when i was a very young kid. except mine was an actual flat that didn't look abandoned or anything of that sort.
something of that flat caught my eye. at a top window it was lit with light from the inside, and the top part of the window was broken. it looked like someone threw a flower pot at it or something. i felt myself getting uncomfortable. there was this back bit by the house and it was all wood. back at my place it had a small area in it and it was barrired by nature (ig trees, bushes, etc) so it really unsettled me seeing it blocked off.
from that lit window i heard what im assuming to be parents arguing at eachother. i can't remember what they were arguing about but but were furious. like they just started doing this when i got here.
the older man then told me "we should go, it's not safe here" we hurried out and i went back to the weird "fancy" restaurant and found my family in there. well, my mom and younger sister being my family in that dream.
was this a message to me?

weirdcore is an nostalgic aesthetic, that doesn't make you feel nostalgia of good old days but rather than those lenghty boring and vivid memories that u don't necessarily want to back track but still there existing in your memory or in ur passive conciousness. I love it and it makes me feels like how boringness and lengthy ambiance can scar or traumatize the collective psyche of everyone because we all experience this, and its unwanted and confine within us
