Dream Sequence No 6205 - Olivia Sethre

Dream Sequence No. 6205 was my final film project for my freshman year at Minnesota State University-Moorhead.
I based this film off a dream I had just after the project was assigned. In said dream, I went on a hike up a mountain, and encountered a deer who told me to turn around. I ignored it, and as I continued further, the deer became more aggressive and adamant about me turning around. The moment I finally listened, and turned back, the sky turned dark and I booked it down the mountain. After returning to the base of the mountain, I got in my car and drove. The sky was so dark, I couldn't even see the road ahead of me with my headlights on. Countless times, I pulled over in an attempt to find out where I was, and every time I exited the vehicle, I found that same deer, dead, in a different location each time.
It's safe to say that I had a pretty weird dream...
The actresses shown are my two friends, Lily Becker and Otto VanLanduyt. My friend Anya Williams operated the boom mic.
The editing in this film was inspired by the 1969 film Easy Rider, directed by Dennis Hopper.
I submitted this film to my univiersity's Juried Exhibition, and not only was my film shown, but I also won the "Best Upcoming Filmmaker" award, which was shocking and so amazing. I am grateful for the experience and the award I received.
