my school had a rule where even if it was raining outside, you still had to do PE. Kids would be freezing and catching colds and the teachers wrapped up in wooly coats and we would run around in our tiny little shorts
I lived in Arizona for third grade and outside is burning hot and classrooms were FREEZING. I wore a purple jacket to school one day and was wearing it in class. my teacher was mad and forced me to take it off because it wasn't maroon or gold: the school colors. we had uniforms and we could wear any piece of merchandise that represented the school on Fridays as it was a prep school for one of the colleges there. that was the only day we could wear a jacket that wasn't school colors. my brain hurts thinking about it. and yes, most if not all the teachers enforced that rule, every single year I was at that school.
Mine isn't a private school, it's public. But I wore my sweater stockings and a skirt. I got dress coded. For my skirt? Oh no no no. Apparently my stockings were to high. I wore the stockings to cover my legs so I wouldn't get dress coded for my skirt. It's a public school to. Why does it matter how high my stockings are? Ajflaskkbhsoabanja ;-;
back when i was in middle school, we had a system called the "leave" systems. Every six weeks, we were only allowed to have 2 leaves per class. They gave you a paper so teachers could sign when you left class. If you left class more than 2 times, you would get a detention. It was so dumb because it restricted a lot of us from using the restroom or going to our lockers (we had to keep our backpacks in our lockers). I don't know if they still have that system since I'm about to graduate high school but I still think about it and it honestly makes me mad.
My school: Girls are not allowed to show their knees or shoulders because it attracts the boys attention in class. BRUH how stupid can somebody be since WHEN are shoulders and knees attractive ???
Schools say it is to "protect" girls from boys. first, I t i s e l e m e n t a r y s c h o o l. Second, then teach the boys to keep their hands to themselves because it is 80 degrees outside and we are *DYING!*
I’m a retired teacher, and I found the rules ridiculous especially the ones that involved bodily functions. There are things that you just can’t control.
We have lockers to bring stuff to and from school but can't have them in between classes. We only have 3 minutes between classes and the locker bays are crowded af so it take that long just to get to your locker. If your late you get a tardy. If you don't have all your supplies you also get a tardy.
Stupidest rule ever went like this: When I was in 7th grade, we had a health teacher named Mr. Carson (how I remembered his name after more than 10 years, I have no idea.) Anyways, he had a "no yawning" policy as it is contagious and it also shows we have no interest in our class. Everytime one of us yawns, he fakes a yawn and we have to say "excuse me" before resuming the lesson. We sneak yawns behind his back and had to make sure we were quiet. Well I'm sorry Mr. Carson. YOU'RE our 2nd class in the morning and we have to get up at 5-6 in the morning and we're tired but we go to school anyways JUST so we can get an education! I got a damn DETENTION for it and so did other kids! How is this fair?! Some just got scolded while some got detention like I did. Thank GOD I'm 25 and not in school anymore!
in my primary if you stood on the grass you would have to stand next to the wall and think about what you've done, and I always thought what a waste of time when I could be ruining the grass
gang mentality 😂 scene: school ages: kindergarteners “pass the candy. “ “distract them from our heinous actions of knocking over toys.” not much is known about the gang called “dora’s death doers 💀”
No cause my middle school had this list of rules hanging in front of the office that was super outdated and one of them was “don’t bring Doritos onto school grounds” like, what happened for Doritos to get banned? 😭
I love how in most schools they are so obsessed with separating boys and girls meanwhile in my school we're going on a class trip (the Corona is under control in my town and country, except for in the biggest cities that we live far away from) and in the rooms we're staying in they are mixing boys and girls.
there's literally a rule in my school about sticks and I had no idea and my friends and I were making tunes by hitting sticks on a table outside nobody uses and 3 of my friends had to sit in the detention room for the rest of our lunch and we got nothing to eat.
At my school, they didn’t ban backpacks but they required you to put them in your locker for safety purpose; meaning that you had to carry the things you needed for class around. And some kids had heaps of things so around trimester 2, I started to shove what was really necessary in my computer case along with my computer. It was a life changing decision 😂😂 however because of covid, they changed it (thankfully)
When I was in school if you date someone and teachers find out they tell your parents about it and also ask for your Facebook id and password to check who all you are chatting with.. No one has ever given correct email or password but still what?? Also it's the school COUNSELOR who does all of this (Asian school things maybe)
1 dumb rule We weren't allowed to talk to the boy's school next door even after school We weren't allowed to carry around binders (as it was suspicious) Our hair was only allowed in a pony tail (not high, not braided, even the short hair ppl) lol Anyways have a good one *luv you* ✌💜😚
There was a rule at my Elementary school where if you wanted to go to the bathroom you had to bring a body which was perfectly normal for me. But then in this one class we had to bring a buddy of the opposite sex because apparently people from the same sex were going into the same bathrooms and did not actually doing the business they were just talking. Which sucks for me because I was terrified of the bathrooms because I watch this horror thing and I’m still kind of terrified of bathrooms. Luckily for me I never really had to go to the bathroom ever but when I did it fucking sucked so whenever I did go to the bathroom I had to wait until someone would come in and then I could do it but I had to do a limited amount of time before they did it.
I’m my school during zoom they made it to where we weren’t allowed to wear pjs or eat. You had to be ready just as If you were at school. Like what are you gonna do? Suspend me? Expell me? This is online lol. You gonna kick me out of zoom? Good, I don’t even wanna be there at least I got my attendance taken.
once there was this girl in my class that had no shame saying she was on her period. we were in class and she asked to go to the bathroom of course, the teacher said no. so she said, "miss im on my period i need to go"
I see nothing wrong with what she said. We shouldn't be ashamed 'cause it's normal. The only thing that I think is wrong is when teachers still don't allow children to go in the bathroom when they're on period. Like what?
Bruh, one time our school had a policy of no jackets allowed. Because they could be used to hide harmful things like knives and guns or anything that's threatening. Until December, we have to suffer from the cold because we don't have seasonal uniforms (one for colds, one for hot season) they thought our triple layered uniform is enough to warm up during cold season. But it all stopped or the implementation got weaken when there's 3 gang wearing ahegao jacket until another student copies until the whole highschool wears ahegao jacket. You could see them every where during breaks.
Friend growing up in a large area: There were no back packs. No time to gather in groups and talk. We had two or three lockers and not enough time to get to the main one between classes. In the 70s they put armed police in the halls and the parents were so upset they threatened to remove their children. Didn't want us to live in a police state. High school was the first time we could wear jeans.
Our school has a pretty standard dress code, but it’s still stupid. I go to a Lutheran school though, so that’s to be expected (it’s a pretty sexist dress code..)
In my school we have to wear long jeans, though they'll sometimes not say anything if someone is wearing baggy pants. Then we're supposed to wear the school t-shirt/vest/sweater, depending on the season.
Bro my face shows too much skin😃 like bruh it's a fuckin BODY, it’s covered with skin on top is that my fault? what else am i supposed to show? My skeleton?
My school enforced a rule that we needed to bring a note from parents on why we are late or we got a detention even if our bus was late which you can NEVER TELL if it was going to be late
My middle school banned backpacks as well. We were forced to use binders which wasn't enough for our stuff since we had way more than just papers we needed to carry.
They didn't let us have backpacks either, we had to keep them in our lockers and have binders, we were allowed small bags but that's it. I think it's because we could put a weapon in our backpacks but we could hide one in our lockers too, doesn't make a lot of sense.
My school once dress coded me bc my stockings were to high... It's not even a uniform school what- No, not my skirt, MY STOCKINGS. But I have been dressed coded for my shorts, so I went up to the nurses and changed into shorter shorts she had :).
My school banned pencil sharpeners. They said if we just bring 3-4 already sharpened pencils to school then we don't need to keep sharpening them anyway. I know pencil sharpeners have blades but seriously what did they think we were gonna do with them?? How would we even remove the blades in class 😐
They also said we weren't allowed stationery that was "too fancy" like if your stationery had a pom pom or something or you didn't use a plain clear pouch for pens and pencils it was apparently wrong
@@erikapavedtheway omg this is totally besides the point, but you reminded me of something. my friend and i would take all those little cheap sharpeners and remove the blades. i had a whole bag of just blades in my desk. Looking back, how on earth did i pass all those desk checks :l
I can't imagine having to carry stuff everywhere my school stopped using lockers because of the pandemic so we carry are bags everywhere imagine having to carry a whole backpack worth of stuff for the whole day
We dont use lockers in my country. We only use bags and we dont have to change classes often. If we have to, we keep our bags in our classroo. and carry only the books we need. With the 20 or so books that is in the bags, yes its quite difficult to carry them around all the time.

THE TEACHER EVEN WEARS THEM but they don’t allow us because it’s a choking hazard. Like what? Who’s gonna grab my lanyard and yank it when it’s around my neck???
I think that could be a possibility around young children since they can be unpredictable, erratic and impulsive. It woukd be hard to believe that the rules were for older students

My elementary school used to have 1st-3rd graders attend the smaller playground for recess while 4th-6th graders attended the bigger one. Right when I got into 4th grade is when they changed the rules so that 1st-4th graders attend the smaller playground while the bigger playground is for the 5th-6th graders. My parents were pissed off because I had to keep waiting until I finally got to play on the bigger playground.
We aren't allowed to have bag and you can only have a certain sized purse if you're a girl. One day, I was standing behind this girl with a purse the security officer at the metal detector deemed "too big" and ordered her to take everything out of the purse. She angrily ripped everything out of the purse, cursing and complaining. When he looked through everything, he complained about the amount of tampons and pads the girl had and told her she had to get rid of some.(Honestly, she had a reasonable amount.) She literally yelled to the whole lobby that she was on a heavy period and proceeded to throw a pad at him. Unfortunately, she was suspended for 'misbehaving and inappropriate behavior.'
3:54 . If my school did that I would honestly just like bring a shopping cart to school and put all my books and stuff in it . They never said anything about shopping carts
Bloody hell... why do these schools have no respect for students, like we are humans. I’m just mad I have to deal with this type of thing for many years to come. Guys please don’t support this type of thing, it’s so old school and takes away the most basic rights of people who just want to be educated to live a half decent life- people ask how gen-z has so many protestors and LGBTQ+ people, and other type of just different types of people. The answer to that is because we have to be, nobody else will. Thank you to the few people who read this and I hope you are having a good day, good life, good month, good week, good day, good hour, good every second. Just want to say y’all matter and deserve so much, no matter what race, religion, body type, political standpoint, etc that you are. We are all human so I all wish you well.
“Can’t be standing in groups of more than 4” What- in my friend group there’s nine of us 😂 & then there’s my best friends.. not at all related younger brother, a girl who hangs out with us all the time & is really awesome, & two or three people who are friends with one of my other friends. We can have up to fourteen people at once. For the record, we’re all huge nerds. Not a gang. That four person rule is so stupid 😂😂
I go to a private art school and we're pretty much allowed to do anything accept draw/write on desks but thats more than understandable imo... Whenever you need to go to toilet you don't even need to ask, just raise your hand and say you're going, they always let us.
My old middle school banded backpacks. They handed water bottles because of the trend back then. They handed all electronics. You can’t wear culture like head peace and more.
my school didn't generally have this rule, but one of my teachers only allowed you to drink mineral water (God forbid, if it was spring water) only in summer during her class.
but i ques this only water rule somewhat makes sence. my friend once completely destroyed her book by spilling apple juice on it. it would propably be fine if it was just water.
I remember my old high school tried banning walking with the opposite sex / gender unless our shoulders were more than 6 inches apart….if you were closer than that then you’d either get a note home or a detention 🥴
So over my 4 years in High school, I attended 2 different schools. Each had its own stupid rules. The first school I went to made a rule that no Nike products were allowed to be worn. The second school I went to made a rule for like 3 months that we couldn't use the bathrooms because someone kept breaking the toilet handles. So they kept them locked until a parent complained.
i got a detention for my pen falling off my desk when the teacher was talking and wanted everyone's attention, also got detention for not a pencil case to put all my stationary in even though i had all my stationary... was so annoying - i have a bunch more stories like that - my school is insanely strict
1:27 my school's more rigged because one of the deps in my school announced there was graffiti in the boys bathroom and told us how it wasn't good to vandalise yet they didn't lock the bathrooms.
We had this one teacher in college who would also lock the door after he entered the class like said in the video. And yeah we had to miss some classes cause you know nature calls
2:16 That would be so embarrassing! Imagine you take lots of paper cause you need a 💩 and everybody’s just watching you like “yeahhh we know what you’re about to do.” 😭😂
9:52 this is my ENTIRE COUNTRY. Not universities, but all private and public schools, preschool to high school. Theyre going virtual all year, and they demanded uniforms, school supplies, notebooks, everything. While El Salvador is providing computers for their students, Guatemalas just finding another way to suck us dry, even after lots of parents lost their jobs in COVID. I get that most schools here are private, but still! Thank God I graduated last year.
Also, I'm not American, but the banned backpack thing tends to be because they fear the kids might be hiding a gun inside (I don't know this from experience, but I read enough of these cases and that was always the reason)
My middle school only let us use draw string backpacks. All the kids who are trans aren't allowed to use the bathroom for example ftm, can't go into the males bathroom because they 'weren't male' same with the female bathroom it was messed up
2:31 omg WE HAVE THIS TOO. And also... there are no garbage cans in the toilet-“rooms”. Not even for girls. What we girls do is wrap the pad with so much toilet paper and throw it in a garbage can outside. They do this because there are many kids that flood the toilet with toilet paper ROLLS and because they dump the trash out of the garbage cans. I know.. weird school/kids.
5:13 last year for some reason people in the school would try to fart on purpose and then brag about getting the longest or smelliest fart like it was an outstanding accomplishment
At my school if you don’t wear the right shoes (which are really expensive) we get suspended, we also get detention for wearing any bit on jewellery and makeup and for being 2 minutes late 😐 my school also gave us A CURFEW they say “we have to go straight home after school because we don’t want people hanging out with their friends at the shops cuz it will ruin our reputation” like what. A girl in my glass also got detention for wearing socks with her sandles, it was winter
I have the uniform in online school rule too and when online classes first started they would check if everyone was wearing proper uniforms or not but eventually we just stopped wearing them and the teacher too gave up :)
I lived in the United Arab Emirates till 2010. We had a whole different building wing for boys and girls, and we had an all girls, all boys class post 4th grade. So I can relate to this.
I once had a middle school with bathrooms practically flooding with inappropriate words and the teachers didn't give two craps, but at that other school when one kid writes the word "hi" they lock up the bathroom entirely? Seems legit.
Something similar to the no fighting rule happen to me almost every single time I try to stand up for myself. There was this one guy who just randomly decided to follow me everywhere during lunch and just repeatedly push me and no matter where I went he just continue to follow me and push me until I finally decided that I had enough and I start pushing back until it broke out into a fight. Guess who got punished? Certainly not the guy who randomly decided to instigate it for no reason. I got a 3-day out-of-school suspension.
My highshool had a no backpacks rule. Suppos fly it was a fire hazard. They said that too many backpacks would clutter up the floors in the classrooms and make it difficult for the students to evacuate in the case of a fire. It was just as obnoxious and difficult as you think.
My old school once thought that it was a good idea to not let anyone that was later than 8:00 sharp in. The penalty was that had to go straight to the principal's office and then your family received a call from them saying that you were late to Need to point out there were queues to the office longer than those for the next iPhone
I've been to three schools that had the paper outside the stalls (the last two also hadn't any paper at all most of the time, so you'd have to bring tissues or toilet paper from home). Now at college I don't have that problem anymore
my elementary also had the paper outside the stolls for some time. like you said, there was almost never any paper there. i'm glad it changed when i was in like 3rd year, cause it was really annoying. but after that renovation they removed all the mirrors for a few years for some reason

What on earth. That's so dumb
Mine isn't a private school, it's public. But I wore my sweater stockings and a skirt.
I got dress coded. For my skirt? Oh no no no. Apparently my stockings were to high. I wore the stockings to cover my legs so I wouldn't get dress coded for my skirt. It's a public school to. Why does it matter how high my stockings are? Ajflaskkbhsoabanja ;-;
im starting to worry bout yall
In middle school they banned backpacks so we had to carry around Trapper Keepers. Now every time I see one I cringe
back when i was in middle school, we had a system called the "leave" systems.

Stupidest rule ever went like this:
When I was in 7th grade, we had a health teacher named Mr.

Thats not even supposed to happen tho
Why do they think the students would tell their correct password or what if they dont even have Facebook.

Luckily for me I never really had to go to the bathroom ever but when I did it fucking sucked so whenever I did go to the bathroom I had to wait until someone would come in and then I could do it but I had to do a limited amount of time before they did it.

once there was this girl in my class that had no shame saying she was on her period. we were in class and she asked to go to the bathroom of course, the teacher said no. so she said, "miss im on my period i need to go"
I see nothing wrong with what she said. We shouldn't be ashamed 'cause it's normal.
The only thing that I think is wrong is when teachers still don't allow children to go in the bathroom when they're on period.
Like what?
Wait how can the university professor lock the door when you literally pay to be there.
My school doesnt allow pants with rips in them because it "shows to much skin" so you have to wear leggings or tights under them
Did they ban shorts too?
Same.
Not really rare now a days but no backpacks in school, no phones in school, no other personal electronics, no tank tops, etc.
It's not even a uniform school what-
No, not my skirt, MY STOCKINGS.

My old middle school banded backpacks. They handed water bottles because of the trend back then. They handed all electronics. You can’t wear culture like head peace and more.
mine is : students are not allowed to drink other juices except water, in the classroom
My school has that rule too!
Except the teachers always drink coffee 🙄
my school didn't generally have this rule, but one of my teachers only allowed you to drink mineral water (God forbid, if it was spring water) only in summer during her class.
but i ques this only water rule somewhat makes sence. my friend once completely destroyed her book by spilling apple juice on it. it would propably be fine if it was just water.
The last one is true for lots of kids right now. Especially in this last school year.
