I'm glad you interviewed my friend, Bria/Bach! Zhe always articulates the truth of things pretty well and is a pretty open person. And I'm so glad you got a shot of my fur neice, Tempeh! That dog has gotten SO big!! I spent a month or so in that first white camper with the yellow stripe last Winter. I didn't really leave camp much due to the drugs and drama as well.. But you'll find the same issues anywhere else in the states, The only difference is people's lives are more exposed there. Also, I love that Van is continueing his homestead projects.. He was talking about getting chickens when I left, so it's cool to see that come into fruition! BAKAWK! 🐔

I also came from oakland to sf to get help and I learned I have been homeless for 8 years . Sure, it’s cool seeing and experiencing how the very wealthy live life, but the majority of us don’t live that way and it can become very scripted and boring. So many wealthy people lose their sense of True self and so many times it has to be something material to make them happy, of course, not everyone, but for so many it’s that way. I truly Enjoy All kinds of People, not Things…..🙏🏼❤️

What an amazing survivor who somehow stayed away from drugs and created healthy mental maps for dealing with everything the world has become! This kind of wisdom is so rare in the uber-harsh reality of what drug addiction, homelessness, and exposure to constant death does to our thinking. I was born in the 70s, so the blueprint that my brain created circuitry for is def pretty standard for the majority of ppl who are lucky enough to have known the world before the internet. However, as the years became decades, one usually realizes that they're now a conservative. Labels never meant anything to me, though. Stay strong, and great content .

Thanks for this Matt. I live in the uk but the idea of living somewhere like slab city has always appealed to me. I have often wondered what the climate there is like for LGBTQ folk who want to live off grid.
I’m replying to your comment so late I doubt you’ll read it. Just think of every heatwave you’ve ever experienced and realise that doesn’t even cut it re the heat. Somebody translated however hot it was in this video to 46 degrees. I’ve experienced that before but couldn’t do more than a few days. HOWEVER….if you know anything or can learn about rammed earth and underground housing you’ll be so much cooler. Being a fix-it type of person usually helps in what they call “intentional communities” nowadays. That would make you a person who’s needed and valued. Maybe you could set up a nursery of hardy desert trees and plants (even edible). Protect the saplings under removable shade cloth or mesh so they’re protected from the sun when they need to be. I don’t know the quality of the soil there (i.e whether trees are feasible) but enough tree can create a cooler microclimate. And if it ever rains, everyone needs tank water, like a 3,000 gallon tank. It’s not drinkable water but you can shower in it, wash the dust off everything and cook with it (boil and cool first). And of course communities have a lot of freethinkers and eccentrics, which is tailor made for LGBTs I’m talkin half of some of these communities. But research other communities before you pick one. Do some visits first, don’t say yes at the first place. See all available options before you decide the first place was best. Oops. Have a great life lots of adventures.

There's a canal, a hot spring,, a cold shower, and some of the bigger, more well kept camps have solar and solar showers. Pretty much everyone knows how to build and if not someone else does. It is a community, we flow together. You can brush your teeth with bottles of water or with baking soda if you have no water. Hell, even use baking soda if you have water. We dig shitters (outhouses) there is a laundromat in town, you can walk to town its only a couple miles. And also cars still exist so you can literally drive to go do any of these things.

I feel like ze sees being a lesbian as close mindedness . When being a lesbian is just a fact and attraction to female body’s/ female looking body’s. You don’t need to be fluid if your not . You don’t need to change or pretend your attracted to someone if your not fully attracted to a person . I feel as long your being honest to yourself that’s what matters .Your attractions are your own and you don’t need to preserve everyone’s feelings in that . Wow I didn't realize there was different types if depression. I live threw the same type. No matter how hard I work on myself or my life I'm always in depression. And I can't feel happy in the form of feelings. But I can look back on events an know for a fact that was a happy "time". I hate nor being able to feel what happiness feels inside tho.

I feel like ze sees being a lesbian as close mindedness . When being a lesbian is just a fact and attraction to female body’s/ female looking body’s. You don’t need to be fluid if your not . You don’t need to change or pretend your attracted to someone if your not fully attracted to a person . I feel as long your being honest to yourself that’s what matters .Your attractions are your own and you don’t need to preserve everyone’s feelings in that . Sure maybe don’t tell a person outright but to change yourself to make someone feel better? You don’t have to listen to me but I hope you are true to yourself in whatever that is .

Trans women need to chill when it comes to not being people's preference. Every straight man or lesbian has to be attracted to or interested in dating or being with a trans woman, that doesn't mean that they aren't women, that just means they're not everyone's tyoe.
