I loved this era of gaming because it was a time when no one had a winning formula and everyone was trying new and innovative mechanics and styles to stand out.
Many are just too clunky for me to enjoy today. I still appreciate them along with n64 era
I feel like they figured it out at the end of ps1 with Tekken 3 and Metal Gear Solid. They figured out what worked and then transitioned which some is still felt to this day. Parappa the Rappa ultimately became guitar hero. Every Espionage game now is pretty much from Metal Gear solid. Resident evil lead to every other survival horror game which lead to PS making stuff like Onimusha. I'm honestly not sure whats out there now as I stopped gaming past ps2 but I found really great games to be few and far between on ps1 but when they were good...man they were good. I still don't think anything can top the first Metal Gear Solid.
God, yeah. I mean sure, some games stuck to familiar things. But there were so many games trying to do their own thing at the time. Pretty much early 360 days and before, people still tried to be unique with their games (not everyone, but still). Nowadays, most game releases are the exact opposite. With most companies just doing the "popular thing" to try and get fast money, while every so often a fun and unique game pops up.
Can we talk about Def Jam: Fight for NY, my god I loved that game!
OMG I was waiting for it the whole Video. Really didnt think to read it in the comments immediatly
Def jam games are famous....i wouldn't say the game was ignored i would say underrated
People love the Def Jam games definitely not ignored
Yes we Can !!!
It was great. I probably beat it atleast 7 times. Then came icon and was a bit of a let down
Marc Eckō’s Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure is always one of my most favorite forgotten PS2 era games.
If only the knew. That’s one of the GOATS!
Respect for Marc Ecko i loved so much soundtrack of the game
@@maniaac5905 - That game had an INCREDIBLE song list!
Man that game is just wow
Cool fighting system, cool mechanics, soundtrack of another level
I still listen to some of its OST
This game is unique, this will be always in my collection.
I played Rise to Honor on my PS2 when I was a kid and I've never forgotten that game!
Anyone remember “Mercenaries”?
yes. only Just Cause games come close to this gameplay
And World in Flames
Yup one of my favorites. Too bad the 2nd one was ass.
Mercernaries was so good
OH NO YOU DIDN'T!
I've always felt that rockstar's "the warriors" game was an under appreciated brawler, the combat felt very arcade-y but really heavy hitting as enemy's would become all bloodied and bruised the longer you fought them. I particularly enjoyed the mechanic were if you commanded your gang members to attack while you had an enemy grappled or if you attacked while your gang had someone grappled you'd perform these really brutal double takedowns with varying animations depending on which weapon was being used.
Was a great game, basic and fun loved it tbh
That is kinda a cult game now tho
Yes, I can't believe it wasn't on this list. My favorite was building your own personalized gang and then just having big gang fights in random areas. Best was the bar with the band playing because you could drag the band into the brawl lol.
Man, The Warriors was great. A little bit stiff on the movement side of things but everything else is great.
And the bruises that appear when you take damage really does wonders to me. It made me feel like grounded to the earth, feels like I actually took damage, not coming out of a brawl unscathed like a god.
And also can we talk about how all the characters voicelines when attacking is the same :') It was really surprising for the first time to hear someone like Rembrandt put out a voice like that
Great game
I remember playing Rise to Honor on the Jampack disc that game with my PS2. It was hard to find the full game in my town, but my parents eventually found it and that was one of the best Christmases of my youth.
Why is no one talking about "Spartan: Total Warrior"
I loved that game
Great game I have that for the GameCube 1played 1 sealed
That game never gets enough love. I remember beating God of war and being bummed that I had beaten it. Then Spartan Total Warrior came around a few months later and scratched that itch again!
Dude that's what I'm saying
That was one of my favorite ps2 games
True Crimes: Streets of LA. Extremely underrated 😤 it never gets talked about same with the sequel 🤦♂️
Didn’t True Crime NY come out after LA and was a better game? I remember trying out True Crime LA after I had way too many hours in NY and I remember being disappointed.
Sleeping Dogs was made by the same people and was similar, but yeah man I loved True Crime. Its slept on for sure.
@@prototypeAleks It was technically better but I preferred the main character from LA.
Had good memories with that game
Great game, it’s Sad that I see plenty of ppl just say it was a gta clone smh
"Black" is still one of my favorite fps games of all time.
One of the best games for PS2
ces são brasileiro só pode, brasileiro é o único que vi falando desse jogo
I was waiting for it to be no.1
Black deserves a remake for sure
Battlefield bad company
“Black” and “Matrix: Path Of Neo” was the best
Path of Neo is the most underrated game ever!!!! Black is a classic that deserves a remaster.
Black was my childhood, damn i miss that game
Man Hunt
The Thing
Black
Area 51
Jet Li Rise To Honor
State Of Emergency
Downhill Domination
And this other game where u drive a motorcycle to missions and ur a guy who has Black glasses. I forgot the name
@@guxxi9746 Headhunter? I loved that game, so underrated too!
@@ChloeDust yes I remember watching my father play. I was just a kid. I never made it passed the 3rd mission lmfaoo
-For Horror I got Area 51, Darkwatch, Cold Fear, The suffering games, Extermination, Siren, Run Like Hell
-Fighting I got the Bloody Roar games, Urban Reign
-Shooting games and adventures, Bloodrayne, Killer 7, Gun, Cold Winter, Second Sight,
-Also all the NBA NFL and FIFA street games
Cold fear was criminally underrated
I ve played cold fear, Run like Hell and Siren 👌👌
@@tomalphonso that game so creepy for me lol
@@luishernandes8977 do you play Okami?
@@playstationtwo877
No but i ll def play it soon
My gf has played it
I play Asura s wrath and conker live & Reloaded (xbox360)
right now
The matrix: path of neo. One of my all time favourites on ps2.
Yeah it was so good, I hope we get another matrix game at some point, a matrix game with today's graphics would be amazing
Path of Neo was great, except the ending.
Same
Hercs adventures that was, original and so fun to play over and over but everyone I talk too is like no don't remember that?
I was literally just typing this game into the comments and saw yours :’) this was my childhood played 100’s of hrs
Urban reign was one of the most underrated ps2 games for me, it deserves a sequel
Looove that game such good combat! Almost forgot it existed
Amen dude
Facts
Actually
Probably one of the best games I've ever played on a PS2.
I think the Syphon Filter games were great and sadly forgotten. I would love to try a remaster with updated controls and team missions online like Omega Strain had.
Anything past syphon filter 1&2 was terrible 🤦♂️🤡
@@smokey6292 1 and 2 were great, but the online play was very fun. But to each their own.
God Hand was so underrated. Sad it didn't get much love as it deserved. It was extreme fun to play even now. The best beat'em up game ever made
true mann
Dude I just watched the whole video waiting for God hand, it's combat was extremely satisfying and definitely deserves much love
@@parthprashant3303 dont wait for God Hand. It's not gonna get a remake or a sequel. Clover studios has been disbanded I guess. Better emulate in PCSX2 and get a controller to get it going! Kudos mate!
Its not underrated, i'l always seeing people playing god hands everywhere
Rise To Honor was my favorite game on the ps2 so many memories with that gem ❤️
Wow
You
Care
Enough
Bro
I remember playing Conflict: Desert Storm 1&2. Those were some great forgotten games
Was trying to remember this - thank you!
They were wicked. Always used to send david Jones to blow up tanks. He'd usually need a revive haha
those were my most played games with friends back in the day, they were so fun
Absolutely superb games. As was Conflict: Vietnam.
Bradley, Connors, Jones and Foley.
played rise to honor like 2000 times, never got bored and was excited everytime the action began
You know what I loved about all these games? No dlc’s. We bought the game and got 100% either bad or good but no in between.
"Tenchu". You got to be a stealthy ninja, with commands ahead of the controls of that era. Was pretty hard and fun!
I think Tenchu is more of a PS1 game,But i do remember it
Tenchu 2 or Z (whatever). So damn good. I would settle for backwards compatibility.
Wrath of Heaven on PS2 was the sh*t!!!!
Tenchu Wrath of Heaven is still one of the best games I've played to date
Fun fact: todays Sekiro : Shadows Die Twice was going to be a Tenchu game but it was changed because devs afraid it wouldn't sell good.
Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2
Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction
The Warriors
True Crime: Streets of LA
Michael Strandberg LA sucked NY was better
Legacy of kain yessss defiance was god tier
I lived LA way more
Grew up kung fu cinema. It was perfect
The warriors ruled
Shoutout to everyone who played Metal Arms: Glitch in the System and Goblin Commander
No mention of “The Bouncer” by Squaresoft now known as Square Enix? Such an underrated rpg beat ‘em up.
Great game.
One of the earles games of the mighty PS2
The punisher video game, that’s my entire childhood. Still waiting for a new punisher game. It made you feel like a badass
The punisher on ps2 was my hands down favorite on the system
That was the BEST superhero videogame like for real see how some superhero games change some story stuff to make this story look a bit more different THQ was loyal to the source material and it became BEST superhero game of all time
Makes no sense. It was soooo good!
Abolfazl nozari I loved it. The way you progressed, you do a couple missions and then end up meeting a main villain and then brutally killing them punisher style
ShotgunVic Hell yeah! I loved repeating the Pop out of a Coffin mission
The Simpsons: Hit & Run will always be one of my favorite games on the PS2.
Too right
They need to remaster that shittt
I think that's kinda still on everyone's mind though, at least more so than the other games in this list.
Dont forget the other simpsons game simpsons riad rage that was the shit too
Why
Rockstar’s Manhunt is an eerie gem as well!
Not many people played it but it was a hell of an experience.
Love that The Thing was included. Been thinking about that game a lot lately, and wish I still had it for xbox.
Never even heard of Shadow of Rome until now. Looks pretty good.
Rez was great.
Socom was one of, if not the first multiplayer game I played on console, and remember spending a lot of time on it with friends
Remake Developer: Write that down! *WRITE THAT DOWN!*
@The Zoom shut
@The Zoom the
@The Zoom up
😂
This
Def Jam: Fight for New York gave me some good memories
That was the game is spent most time playing back in the days
The best Hip hop game ever made.
One of the best arena fighters as well. This needs a remix.
I got Henry Rollins to sign my copy in the middle of nowhere (Ghazni) Afghanistan when he showed up on a USO tour.
I liked playing as Pockets because he did flips and shit lol
Shit actually broke a lot of friendships for me lmao
Obscure, The Suffering and True Crime are forgotten gems
The Suffering is under Midway games and eventually WB because back in 2008 or 09 MidwY filed for bankruptcy then WB bought all midway's assets inckude MK.
I played the suffering and obscure 2 a few months ago, such pieces of art
The Suffering: Ties That Bind. Amazing game. Was hardcore.
True Crime was horrible.
I feel like Obscure was meant to be obscure.
I played Freedom Fighter when I was 7-8 Its really great to hear about it after all that time great video bro
I need a remaster/remake of Scarface: The World Is Yours PS2
fock yeah!!!
Yeess i have this game still..good memories
Awesome game.
Yess
I played that game 4 times !
The Onimusha franchise needs the same treatment as Resident Evil.
Loved that game as a kid.
PseyechoSamurai I only remember playing the one with that dragon at the end. Like it was a silver snake dragon thing. Lol
@@AiGeneratedGamer both 1 and dawn of dreams has you fight a snake like demon at the end dawn of dreams had the most repeatability and content imo i did a lets play on it if you want to check it out
Specially the second game
You know why I preferred Onimusha to Resident Evil (and still do when it comes to the classics)? The same basic control scheme that felt twitchy and terrible in Resident Evil actually felt intuitive in Onimusha. Plus those backgrounds!
AIRFORCE DELTA STRIKE was one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen especially as far as aircraft combat simulations are concerned! I love the variety of planes you got to choose no matter which pilot you were and, in addition to the great art, we got a killer storyline as well! One of my top 3 for the PS2!!
Anyone here remembers Metal Arms: Glitch in the System?
I was searching for this comment
The Suffering is a game that should defiantly be on this list
@D. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Big facts
Oooooooo I agree
It's now sold on Gog.
Criminally ignored and forgotten
I played the shit out of True Crime: Streets of LA and the first Mercenaries game. Also gotta add FFX in there as well.
Same here lol. mercenaries was definitely one of my favorite ps2 games as a kid. Also loved true crime streets of la and new york.
FFX was not forgotten it has been rereleased on PS Vita, PS3, PS4
rontavius snipes I never said it was, I just said I played the shit out of it.
Sleeping Dogs is the closest ive played to TC:LA.
I knew this video was going to be great when you started with Rise to Honor. I picked it up when it was like $10 or $20 back in the day and absolutelty loved it!
No way I've only just found out a childhood favourite 'Cel Damage' is on everything now.
Wow. Thanks for the throwback video guys
Rise to honour was literally my childhood...
Mine was metal arms
Came to post this exact comment
Bruh, same
Me too
I remember doing jet li's moves in our yard😂😂 and at my friends too😂❤
Everything went so fast....
For real, I'd buy it again if it was remastered
Shadow Of Rome was a worthy mention. Loved it . Cool gore effects and ' 'gripping ' gameplay 9/10
One of my favorite games ever. Still regularly go back to it.
I fucking loved shadow of Rome as a kid.
It's a perfect fusion of brutality and overthinking situations to pass through kinda game
Anyone else love the grimy nior setting of The Darkness game - also loved the feeling of utter power when you unleashed the darkness! Short game but sweet
1st one was amazing the second one was great but I hated how they got rid of grittiness
Man this list is right on the spot. Thanks for keeping it action oriented.
"God hand" one of the coolest game i ever played !!
Totally agree with you
Its my childhood favourite game
Lol nobody can buy it though
@@jesuschavez9110 why not?
One of the toughest games I ever completed
Imurged ClapZ check the price lol
I remember that Jet-Li game. I loved it so much. I always struggled with that guy at the fountain who kept drowning you. It took me so long to figure out that you needed to grapple him and drown him!
It took me also a really long time myself to figure it out...
sadly my game crash on the chase scene... and then the cd was just keep on damaging itself everytime i try to play...
You played Sleeping Dogs? I highly recommend it. Also it got a remaster and is super cheap last time I seen it in the store.
Oh yea shit was fun
same hr
Oni (2001) was a game I would always play when I crashed at my friend place as a kid. Always.
There are probably more PS2 "Hidden Gems" videos than there are actual hidden gems on the PS2, but this one manages to stand out with some legit obscure, but great looking titles. Thanks!
glad to see that people havent forgotten about SOCOM.
That’s another flagship franchise that I feel like Sony just gave up on. They made that weird PS3 one that didn’t do well, and just cut the chord and gave up.
Anton Girdeux leaks were going around a while back about a SOCOM reboot for Ps5 made by a small branch of devs from Guerrilla Games. Let’s hope it’s true.
@xxx CHOPPER exactly! I remember buying the online adapter at GameStop just to play socom online.
Online Socom was legitimately the funnest thing on ps2. We had campers then too.
What?
Three games came straight to my mind: Rocky Legends, James Bond: Everything Or Nothing and The Warriors. All of them really immersive games with lots of love put into them.
James bond fo real my brudda
James Bond Everything or Nothing was my ish!!
The Warriors best Game ever
I remember i saw the warriors game a lot of times at stores but i neva bought it cuz i thought it was garbage bc of the cover. I didnt buy it until like 2012 and i was like i cannot believe i didnt buy this one before 😐
I swear i finished the warriors game like 7 times
Rise to Honor and Socom were my top two on Ps2! Socom at the end was a nice surprise because I absolutely loved the Socom series, and yes I used the headset during the Campaign as well. Vocally issuing commands to your AI team was very cool! Good memories!
This is freaky; I was thinking about the game " Rise to Honor" 2 minutes before I started to watch this video and he mentions this game first
I saw Jet Li: Rise to Honour. Thank you. One of my favorite games of all time. Great levels and fight mechanics. Absolutely beautiful.
Who remembers "Def Jam: Vendetta"?
the 2nd one, DJ:FFNY is better
But it wasn't that game from gamecube exclusive?( vendetta, not FFNY)
Me
If any series deserves a reboot, its this one. It was the saints row of fighting games
Preferred new york edition, loved snoop's and sean paul's moves
I remember playing Rise to Honor on a PS2 demo disc. Eventually got the game and it was such a badass game for its time. About to replay it for old times sake, definitely deserves a remake.
I still have The Thing, and i played it at least 5 times, it's a lot of fun, and i love the sanity mechanic and how your teammates react to the events
"Black" was so awesome!
Yep, but I feel like that one is still mentioned more than these games
@xxx CHOPPER killzone? I loved those games too
@@pakmandan there was a game called killswitch too way better than Killzone IMO. Very fast paced action packed. You always felt bad ass!
@@kevinelliott7244 I love Killswitch, I still have that game and it is still awesome, graphics mean nathan to me.
Black is my jam!!! I replayed that game so many times!!!
It always makes me sad when no one mentions Drakengard in any lists because it was a really good game that lead to a great spinoff in the Nier series.
I saw my Uncle play is so much, he really loved the game and the challenge it has. :D
Yep. Honestly of every game I’ve ever played that was has stuck with me more than any. Played it when I was young when it came out and never again but the wacck as fuck story has always been stuck in my mind. Need to hurry up and buy it and a PS2 on eBay or something.
IMO the old red factions and timesplitters are the best FPS of all time, both for very different reasons. I liked the cartoony over the top characters and personalities in timesplitters and some of the funky guns like the injector etc aswell as game modes. And I LOVED the red faction mechanics of being able to manipulate ur environment by blow holes in walls, creating hiding places, shortcuts and finding hidden parts of the MP maps, they were by far my 2 favourite FPS
I remember all the Onimusha games. I loved them so much watching my mom play it. I even remember that Onimusha brawler in the style of smash bros. Can't wait till the day we get Onimusha 4/5
Cool, mom.
The Punisher for me is a really underrated ps2 game.
Indeed, full ost is on my channel feel free to check out
love that game !
I remember renting that game at blockbuster as a kid. Throwing bad guys in coffins with frag grenades.. good times.
Dude U read my mind
Well it's on other consoles too
I remember playing Scarface on ps2 and being pleasantly surprised at how good it was.
That's one game they'll have to mention on the part 2 of this video.......I am going to order it online for my PS2 slim.
I spent so much time on Socom II online. That was my first ever online gaming experience and it was life changing!
007 James Bond: Everything or Nothing ❤
Dark Cloud 1 and 2... hands-down some of the best things I've ever played on the Ps2.
Dark Cloud 2 is one of the greatest of all times.
@@Ze4us and Mark Hamill literally voices the main villain of the game
They're both on the PlayStation 4...
@@Pranksta1985 and still no one remembers them.
I really loved State of Emergency from Rockstar games. I often wonder if I’m the only one who misses it. That and Socom, Onimusha, and Psyops are games I would love to see again or sequels at least. Jet Li Rise of Honor was awesome too. I pray Socom comes back for PS5, a campaign and online multiplayer would be awesome for it too.
Your not the only one mate. I remember running through the mall as that fat mexican guy with a minigun. That kind of game needs to come back, even maybe just as an arcadey kind of deal. The game was pure mayhem and thats what it was. 10/10
I remember. Though not as fondly as you. For me it was the game that showed me just how bad the dreaded "escort mission" could be. The chaos and gunplay were fun though.
I was thinking Psi-Ops would be too well known when I opened the video, but they put XIII and Onimusha on here that were far from ignored at the time 'or' more recently. So I'm not sure what they atually mean with 'ignored'.
An actual ignored game I can think of is Riding Spirits. A Gran Turismo-like game but with motorbikes.
Great list guys... For me Shadow of Destiny and FantaVision were two really big ones. Though Fantavision did see a PSN release not to long ago.
I agree with this whole list every game you said brought back some nostalgia to me
Red Faction was my first love, I remember blowing holes in the wall just to see how deep they'll go.
I got the collection for ps3, has the 2 ps2 games and the 3 ps3 games
@I love MLB the show 2020 I'm up to collect all the ps2 to ps3 HD collections
True crime: New York City
I still can’t imagine how a ps2 game can have a scale map as big as this game at the time, also to mention every single building had a interior. In my opinion this has to be one of the best ps2 games of all time
So underrated
Played truecrime nyc on pc and didnt like it at all. But here are some kinda simular games for you. "john woo stranglehold" jumpforce1&2 on psp didnt like them eighter
LA was my ride or die. NY was real good too
Sadly the True Crime games got overshadowed by GTA San Andreas.
I bought LA years later and I wasn't blown away tbh. It may have just aged badly but I hated the controls on PS2. The PC version had an awful DRM so I didn't bother with that one either.
Prisoner Of War! This was one of the most unique games I remember playing as a kid, the constant trying to escape was so interesting. It was amazing
The Getaway should get a remake, it was the first game I ever played on ps2 when I got it and it still holds a place in my heart
Psy Ops was such a great game. I spent most of my time in the training room, flinging soldiers around the room and throwing the wrecking ball at them. Good times
I literally did the same thing and never heard anyone else talk about this game!!
I thought I was the only one who knew about that game. I'm glad to hear there are more of us.
Shadow of Rome is one of my favorite game actually. It has a great storyline, satisfying combat & gore, and you can learn history by playing the game. Wish it gets a remake soon.
I was looking through the comments to see if any mentioned shadow of rome hahaha respect dude such a great game so well made !
@@grantorourke6796 respect from me too! 👍👍👍
I used to love using the halberd and chop them in half.
@@matrixdeprogrammed1271 the salvo is called red volcano
And horrible stealth sections, that made me stop playing it.
Anyone remember the frickin' Shadow Hearts Covenant? That was a delight surprise for me
You put together a really good list here.
SOCOM is a series that I miss so dearly ):
Ghost Recon Wildlands can give you a LITTLE bit of that SOCOM feeling, but it doesn't have the depth when it comes to squad stuff. Those old tactical games like SOCOM and the original Rainbow Six were awesome.
James Bond 007: Agent Under Fire
I had tons of fun in this one! Campaign was great, you could drive 007 vehicles and even tanks!
Splitscreen multiplayer was awesome, you could play up to 4 players couch co-op
I still have this game lol it really is good ....its aged very well
State of Emergency is highly underrated
Holy shit!! Thank you!! I been searching for this game for years but forgot what it was called
Dude oh my goodness this whole video was a trip down memory lane most of these games were in the top drawer closest to me on my desk growing up
I miss playing split screen games 😞
Put 2 PCs/consoles with the monitors/TVs touching and pretend that its one screen. XD
Play split screen?? You are acting like its obsolete?
@@g_dakid7767 kinda is. They dont make them much anymore. Everything is online
Remember Spartan: Total Warrior? Man what an awesome game that was!
I have a ps2 with about 80+ games and that's one of them also shadow of Rome is another
Holy shit dude I was thinking about this game in bed last night but couldn’t remember the name! What a game that was!!
Holy shit, the legendary demigod massacre of the spartan. This game is truly underrated
Amazing
I remember everything
Not too many people I'm sure remembers but extermination was one of my favorites. Great story with a great scary vibe to it.
Bro no way man I remember extermination man that game was super hard I played it so much I lost always cuz I just didn’t know when to use the mes the right time and than I would that beast in the water in the boat and lose anyways it was a great and hard game awesome to see someone remembers this game👍🏽
Aw man. I remember when socom was great and they were gonna make them forever! It felt like that for a while anyway cuz there were so many. It’d be nice to see that have a come back.
Miss the days when you got like 20 games a year that were the best of the best, now we get 2-5 games that are really good per year.
It feels like all of the focus is on the graphics and realism now and less about actual game content and story length. imo ofc
Facts
Aaron Wells Ubisoft and EA and Activision show your logic to be faulty. Most of their games cost a lot to make, weren’t even close good let alone perfect, yet they keep selling and making them.
Innovation of the PS2 games is gone now...
Nothing changed, people are just blinded by nostalgia. If many of the games today were released 20 years ago, people would remember them fondly, and if the games from 20 years ago were released today, people would long for the " good old days"
Onimusha was such a great series.
Also Syphon Filter: Omega Strain.
Omega Strain was my favorite Syphon Filter game. This is the game that severely needs a reboot. Let alone a whole reboot of the series in general.
Omega was cool, but thought the earlier games on PS1 were stronger. Loved using the taser on people :P
A few of my favourites from back in the day include, the godfather (1st one only) scarface the game, the whole timesplitters series (god I wish they’d make more of those games), avp and manhunt
Man, your list was like my childhood. To expand on your list, I'd put in Black, the warriors, Vice City stories when they ported it to ps2, (I still can't believe how good it was, it's tied for second of my favourite GTAs) sly racoon, and, a dog's life.
The blockbuster in my town had a Monday special where you could pick up a game for $1 a week, so I got a new game every week or if I was still playing it, i just drop the guy $1.
Can't believe you gave a shout out to Shadow of Rome!! One of my top 5 ever. Played it right as i was getting obsessed with ancient Rome, so it was the perfect storm for me. Also great soundtrack, and lovely ancient city ambiance (despite its linear and non open world set up)
Freedom fighters was literally my childhood.
Same bro, same.
Seems like The Division: Good version
It was so good
Were is total overdose it was literally the best ps2 game
This game was so awesome
The Prince of Persia series! Sands of Time was my favorite out of them.
One of the best trilogies ever.
I loved that game until the last 2% after you lose the knife and have to reclimb up to the final boss fight, I couldn’t get through the hidden climbing section in the tower.
How is this always ignored? It was one of the biggest franchises back then.
@@drwarcloud666 Assassins creed was meant to be Prince of Persia, but they decided to rebrand it. Forgot why
@@drwarcloud666 I know right? Would be a perfect trilogy to remaster. I know I would pick it up.
"Killswitch" was a big one too
Really flipping cool to see people bring up so many lesser known titles in these comments like The Bouncer for example. Even if they're not great games they at least have interesting stuff going for them.
That being said, i find it a pity that Kya: Dark Lineage doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere.
So glad someone acknowledges Shadow of Rome because it is amazing.
It was beating my ass so hard tho
Literally thought of Shadow of Rome when i saw the title and there it is mentioned in the video!
It was mid at best
*True Crime:New York City*
one of my favourite PS2 games
I love true crime but the first one was my fav! ❤️
@@hayp7295 Yeah the first one was gold I still have the original CD for it. I just hope they do a remake it would probably be better than GTA 5.
Same here,I've finished 4 times to this date, and I never get tired of unlocking new weapons at the gun shops😂
Underrated game
I remember when I first discovered monster Hunter on ps2. it wasn't very popular here in the states and I never knew why. Monster Hunter, even back then was freaking amazing
Is that game have story Mode?
I loved Freedom Fighters and XIII!!! Sooo many great memories with childhood friends playing those games!
SOCOM was one of the older tactical shooters that I remember, that game was cool as can be, just fun all the way around.
Nakuto12 the best!
Totally!
The online matches in Combined assault was the best of the best
I remember those matches 16 vs 16. WAS INSANE in that time! :')
I think I still have that game lying around in the attic with the ps2
Agreed
You know Rez Got a VR remaster a year or two ago?
Also what about G police?
Spawn: Armageddon and Hunter: The Reckoning are some of my favorites
We got Spawn in MK11 and Bloodlines 2 also a werewolf game so they may be some hope for a new White Wolf hunter game and maybe a new Spawn game at same point for next gen.
Man Spawn Armageddon was terrible I freaking hated that game and I wanted it so damn bad before it came out and was sooo disappointed that it was a cheap ass Devil May Cry rip-off that wasn't even good. I'll never forget Spawn Armageddon being one of the biggest disappointments of my gaming life.
@@marky3609 Devil May Cry ripoff? I'm not too sure you're thinking of Armageddon, the only thing even remotely resembling DMC was Agony's controls and handling, being a weapon with it's own dedicated button, but that was really the only similarity.

Nah it's the same game I remember it vividly it tried so hard to be an over the top action game like Devil May Cry but was sooo damn terrible I was sooo guted because all I ever wanted was a Good Spawn game. I still think they should try again tho I'm sure somebody could make a decent Spawn game.
the spawn game was utter shit lmao, it was kind of fun as a fan tho
Black and Syphon Filter The Omega Strain, These 2 games made up my love for shooters. And Black had a soundtrack that is very memorable as well with it's level design. Syphon Filter did end with Logan's Shadow sadly i wanted to know or see a contuination of the series with Lian as the leader or see if Gabe Survived, either way The Omega Strain did a solid job with it's missions, unlockables, customization and even had team objectives because of online, even though you can complete team objectives on solo through the roll/jump glitch and yeah it did have at least some bugs but overrall i had a blast despite the glitches or bugs.
Hot Shots golf FORE! Is still the best golf game out, but is never recognized.
