- Hey guys I just wanted to share my green seasoning recipe with You guys. As always the steps are very easy to follow and you really don’t need any kitchen experience to be able to pull this off. 60g coriander
8 Garlic cloves
6 spring onions
60g basil
5 pimento seeds
30g celery
3 pimento peppers (or 1 green bell pepper)
2-3 tbs oil to blend it up

I made this and OH MY WORD my kitchen smelled divine!!! I followed your measurements and filled a nice sized jar to use for the next 2 weeks. The rest of it I lined some ice cube tray with cling wrap and filled them up with the herb mixture then covered with more cling wrap just so it doesn't smelled up my whole fridge with green goodness and wow I'm impressed now that they frozen I pop one out and threw it in my gravy! Delicious! With lots of love from South Africa 😍😍😍😍

I make this as well using rosemary, parsley, cilantro, mint, basil, garlic, yellow onion, thyme, scotch bonnet pepper and extra virgin olive oil. I use it on everything chicken, seafood, red meats, turkey like I said everything. Love your videos. 💕 🇺🇸 🇯🇲

This is something we make as well. We call it *Sauce Verte*
Only difference is we put more black pepper,more garlic and sometimes we add fresh ginger to it for an amazing aroma.
isnt sauce verte made with green tomatoes and the veggies are broiled/grilled first?
Kuddy Jones You’re speaking of Salsa Verde & yes the main ingredient there is tomatillo (which looks like a green tomato) it’s not the same as Sauce Verte which is mainly herbs. 😊

In Trinidad and Tobago we do the same. Also add Spanish thyme (Portuguese thyme) and shaow beni ( Thai parsley).
I think I’ve tried at least 4-5 of Terri-Ann‘s recipes so far during quarantine and I tried the green seasoning this week and it’s something else. As a Nigeria, I’ve never heard of green seasoning but it has become a staple! I’ve used it to base my falafel wraps, used in my prawn and spring onion pancakes, in marinades- I love it 💚

@@vee3133 I fry spring onions/green scallions, chillies and prawns in a pan with some of Terri-Ann’s green seasoning and then add the batter. Similar to a pancake batter but I use rice flour, baking powder and I add some oat milk and added seasoning to it then pour over the fried ingredients.

Here in South Mississippi, USA, we use celery, onions, and bell peppers/hot peppers or garlic, onions, bell peppers....many call it the "trinity" and any variation is used minced, chopped, or whole depending on the recipe that you are cooking. Love reading the comments with different variations from around the world!
I'm Louisiana-creole and we use the trinity for everything too! It's the perfect base for everything

I guess the name got lost but we definitely Cook with celery onions green pepper and garlic .. that is the base for all our soul food dishes except Mac and cheese
Kristi Lewis I’m here in Florida and I don’t cook any type of stewed, baked or boiled food without onions, peppers, celery and herbs. Whenever I’ve ever heard of anyone mentioning only using a little salt and black pepper as seasoning I faint instantly on sight, 😂 jk but I know for a fact it ain’t making anyone smile once prepared and eaten.

On one of my work trips “up north”, everyone from the south was carrying some sort of seasoning or spice....I had lemon salt and pepper, someone had a sample of creole seasoning, another had a little bottle of hot sauce!
Oh my! It's really nice to see that someone besides me blend their seasoning with oil,I thought I was weird. I also put salt,the salt makes it last a bit longer. I'm from Trinidad by the way.

Since I learned how to make the green seasoning from you so long ago, every time I do it I do something different. I've added a bouillon cube or two, I've added apple cider vinegar as a preservative when I made too much, I've switched from vegetable to olive oil, I've added bell peppers, I've added water. I just use your way as a base and improvise from there.

I made this & the vibrancy & aroma is to die for! To make it last longer in your fridge, drizzle a bit of oil on top once it’s in the jar. As you use it, keep adding a thin film of oil on the top of the green seasoning to keep it fresh so it won’t spoil as fast.

In the US, coriander is actually the seeds from the cilantro plant. The leaves and stems are referred to as cilantro but the seeds are called coriander.

Finally made my green seasoning! I made a double batch and put 3/4 of it in the freezer. I added more garlic, less celery, and a bit of fresh oregano and fresh rosemary. Absolutely delicious, thank you so much!
Fresh homemade Green herb sauce is epic! Can use on brushetta or antipasto platters with your favourite veges & grilled barbeque meats. Or simply a side condiment with your meals much more healthier than store bought sauces. A staple in anyone's fridge to enhance our tastebuds ❤superb recipe. Thank you.

Wonderful, I had asked you recently what green seasoning is and for a minute, being that my mom is from Puerto Rico, I thought of Sofrito, which is a blend of peppers, onion, garlic and cilantro. Similar to your green seasoning. By the way, the same night I saw your video of pasta and shrimp, I made it, of course without the green seasoning but with sofrito and it was out of this world! I took some to work and my coworkers were praising me but honestly I gave the credit to your delicious recipe and passed on the info of your channel. Thank you so much!

Don’t throw the stalk of thyme or fresh rosemary away. Break the stalk and different points and throw it in hot oil if you making a base it infused it. Use it as an infuser. Works for me all the thyme. 😝

In Trinidad we use shadow benny its something like celerntro and hot scotch bonnet pepper and Spanish flat leaf thyme
Annoyingly its hard to find in the UK coriander is the closest alternative

I’ve watched a couple videos for making green sauce. There many variations. I love this one for the rich green color and the texture looks great. Gotta try it.
I'm for real not a fan of onions but I still use them and this is Jamaica where there are all sorts of secret ingredients especially when you grow with grandparents 😂😂😂

In trinidad we use Shadow beni. It's the staple for dishes and seasonings of protein.

When I used to live in Saint Martin one of my neighbor from the Dominican Republic she used to make these and bottle it up and sell it to the people in the neighborhood

Lemon juice and lemon peel. Remove peel with a microplane. Careful not to take off the rind
Yes - adding lemon would help it not to turn brown like she said. It looks kind of like pesto. I'm not sure what you use it on.
Yes that would add a nice kick to it. When I season pork I add fresh lime juice.

I see a lot of ppl asking for uses and I think a dedicated compilation video of the different ways you use it for them to refer to would be nice - even if it's old clips put together. My aunt buys up all the produce at Castries market to make hers so I can't even say what's all in it lol. I talk to her about your recipes almost every time you upload and even she learns something new. Wishing your channel much success! I have to comment more😂 My personal request is a garlic sauce recipe (like Ginette's🤣)!❤️
Love your videos another option is putting it in an ice tray and freeze it whenever you need it just take one out that’s what I do I do the same thing with garlic and ginger
Last week I made a giant bowl. I did it the Bajan way. Shared it with my daughters who absolutely love it. We do it a bit different in Barbados, but it's equally good. I use a lot more dry spices in addition to the leafy ingredients. The dry spices act as a preservative, and the batch lasts a very long time. I find that like fine wine, the older it gets, the more flavorful it is. There are no hard and fast rules for making green seasoning. If you like it, add as much as you want.
