Evolve was one of the very first game that I’ve ever took an interest in and the first time I actually played online, it holds a special place in my heart and I’m so damn lucky to still have the disc!
Same. I still have my hard copy to this day. I boot it up from time to time just to enjoy it. I even have the Goliath figure they made when the game was still kicking.
A game that suffered from a problem that other games, such as Overwatch, suffered from. An incredible game with gigantic potential that won a strong fan base, but was killed by bad management and an extremely greedy company. However, somehow Evolve is still alive (surviving through devices, but alive) thanks to its fans who, despite playing a practically abandoned game, unchanged since the server shutdown in 2018 and with its own company saying that "because More than we recognize the loyalty of the fans towards Evolve, we will disconnect the servers and we will consent to new projects" this was on July 6, 2023 and yet Evolve fans somehow continue to play the game, it is admirable to say the least.
It truly was, Mechanically , graphically and stuff like AI and even just the concept was all ahead of it’s time it’s crazy it looks and plays better than most triple A games comming out these days 💀💀💀

I still remember that behemoth wasn't even included in the game's season pass, despite it saying it included all future payed content updates, you had to purchase it separately for like 20 dollars.

One time when playing as Gorgon I had a hank player that was on my arse 24-7 until I decided to hang on a wall and he arrived and stood where my tracks ended looking everywhere but above and then I quietly pounced and scared the 💩 out of him. Good Times
I've really been missing this gem of a game recently. I found lore stuff that was planned for the game with apocalyptic futures, a reveal that the monsters are from another dimension who hate human technology because it poisons their dimension, a plan to make a playable monster-human hybrid that's a mix of different monsters, and lots of different variants of characters from the apocalyptic future like mutant hunters or the two robot characters fusing into a war machine. Also I remember hearing that evolving is the most painful experience that a creature can experience so I have to respect the monster's dedication. I wish they had a chance to put any of this in the game cause it sounds fantastic.
you can mod the files to have mulityplayer between friends who have the game aswell as unlock every monster traper medic assualt and support and the game saves your progeress with the mod so leveling up you can do i have played Evolve myshelf with the mod with a friend its fun but you need like 4 friends and your shelf to have a good time
Honestly this game was the first asym game for me and others. If I ever won the lottery I'd make sure to hire Turtle Rock Studios to remake this game and bring it back. I know that people are craving a game like this during these times.

The opposite would have been great too. I know it’s an old game now, but i wish there was more ways to hide or ambush the hunters. It lacked things like bushes, trees or even deep water and most of the environment felt empty as a monster.

Since everyone is telling their stories I would also like to say that I played this game at launch, the start of it all. I was a sophomore in high school and my entire family was 6 hours away at a sports tournament. This left 15 year old me alone in a house, with my 2 dogs, for 5 days with nothing to do. First night it snows heavily, so obviously I can't go outside and do anything. My buddy and I decided to try out Evolve and oh man god damn. 5 straight days of doing nothing but playing the game, and man I would give anything just to relive that weekend. I'm at almost 2 decades of playing video games and for whatever reason that long weekend of playing Evolve is one of my most prominent gaming memories. I think about it all the time. Stumbled across this video and was truly saddened to hear that the servers for this game no longer exist. If this game ever got remastered I would absolutely pick it up again. I remember following this game since the first few articles in game magazines, being part of the beta, nd playing it until dying day. A reminder to everyone that the pc community have released a mod to keep it working.
I have always enjoyed seeing this game watching this game and even playing this game myself. It was so fun. I loved it so much. I wish this game would come back to life.
I remember first reading about it in a game informer a decade ago and was super excited for it. But with all the transactions and shit that it threw together, combined with the fact that it already wasnt super in the limelight(despite it being literally on the cover of game informer ironically) caused it to basically be 80 percent dead within the first few months. Evolve stage 2 kind of dragged it back out into the light making it so you could bypasse all the microtransaction bs but it still never quite got up to the hype of what it was supposed to be. Which is really sad because I really like the uneven teams(number wise) dynamic of games and I think they have a great deal of success opportunity as well. If theres one thing that games like Among Us proved, its that people love to be against uneven odds and go up against the crowd and theres so many ways that this could be expanded upon too whether that be with deception(in regards to stuff like among us) or just the flat out fighting nature(Evolve stage 2). I was actually teetering around with a concept like this in the Unity game engine, trying to make a sort of 5 v 1 type game where the 1 can either use deception and traps or just outright fight it out with the 5 hunting them and I must say even working on something like that(purely conceptual at the moment), I can still very much see the appeal of the gameplay loop and I hope to see more games like Evolve in the future.
I'm so glad I got this on disk when it released and I can still play it as much as I want with saved progress. I never got to play with other people cause I didn't have internet, and when I got it the servers were down so I never got to experience online play. This game is an absolute classic I wish 2K would revive this franchise with a sequel or bringing back the first one with an update
Me and some friends were just talking about this game the other day, honestly I believe capcom should buy the license from 2K, keep it as it is but just keep adding more monsters, maps, and hunters. Keep the vibe of the original as close as possible by simply mixing traits from monster hunter, resident evil, and exo primal, it would do phenomenal, the game only died because it was a style of game that was very uncommon at the time being a 4v1 style that was constantly going even when your not playing, but that style is so common and well received now that it would sky rocket, and even though capcom will try to add something to churn out money from the game, I would just simply suggest a battle pass that allows you to quickly unlock cosmetic items that you could still get if you grind enough, stuff like monster and hunter colors and skins, spray paint stickers for hunters, deployment affects and stuff like that, something that will be cool to unlock without being pay to win

How about game of SONNIE's edge from love, death, and robots to be made. Make your own gladiator creature work all the way up from the pits also make a legit series of it. I like playing as Goliath from evolve

I could play any role well enough but the Gorgon will always be my most favorite Monster to play as. Like a massive spider hunting down my prey. Toying with it before i pounce! I miss playing this so much, i still own it on Steam.
Still think about this game daily and remember it as the prime time of my gaming history. I pray someday we'll see a true spiritual successor, sequel, or revival.
This was the first game I played on Xbox One. I enjoyed the game so much and loved playing the monster. I hate that the game was shut down, but it was a little ahead of its time. Now there're so many asymmetrical horror games, or Dead By Daylight clones, it would be nice if they at least made a sequel to Evolve. It would make money nowadays, since everyone is obsessed with making multiplayer games lately. But it was the small campaign I enjoyed more than the multiplayer, especially since it did have a chance to have random outcomes that changed how the next mission played out.
Nothing quite like the thrill of when this game first dropped. Was the number 1 assault in the world for the first year. Then it all went down hill. Miss this game so much.

When I played in 2022, I had all the other monsters still, but playing again it locked Kraken, but not Wraith. I’m going to see if I can somehow get Behemoth and Gorgon.
Bro I wanted to buy this and it’s unavailable it’s so sad that the developers gave up on this one. Could have been improved here and there. As of now there is still a fan base for it it would have been glorious
