Hold up! Before anyone quits their jobs to do this, make sure this can actually sustain you for a long term before you quit your job otherwise you'll struggle a lot
wrong attitude though. you will never get assurance that it will sustain you. what you must do before you leave your job is be clear on you focus, develop consistency and content and provide value. Once this is done then you will make money. In the creative field you can't chase money that is a sure formula for failure. After all clarity comes when you start the journey

I recently left my 8-5 job as an administrative assistant in June. It was good experience but I realised I didn't have a chance to grow. Like you said in the other video, you might have to experience something to know it's not for you. That inspires me. Money isn't always the main motivation. Mental and physical health really matters

True, there are some very high paying jobs, but the cost is your mental and physical health.

Every aspect of you is just beautiful. I love making UA-cam videos and I know eventually the money will come..I'm not worried about it. But I quit the job I was doing last month because I was so unhappy in that environment. Now I have no official income but I'm sooo much happier!! I know my success on UA-cam will take off soon, my channel has grown so fast this past month. But my goal on UA-cam is to give back a lot. God gave me an abundant life so now I want to share it ❤️🙌🏾. I'm walking by faith not by sight

I try explaining this to people. Am not a youtuber but I do work online full-time since I graduated uni in 2015. I love it. Am a mum and am happy to care for my kids myself and work. People always comment. Hujapata kazi? It's annoying coz am not looking for work. I did B. Com HR but people don't get that I don't want to wake up and do 8-5 job. I can't handle that. I like the worklife balance I have working online in my own home.

Resigning from my 8 -5 job happened 7 months ago, and I definitely did my research prior to leaving my job about content creating /influencing, creating a media kit {rate card} and approaching brands. I agree with you on having your goals at your fingertips. I remember, sending out my first 8 proposals everyday to brands that I wanted to work with and only 1 big brand responded and now we are creating content.

I will not mention their names, but I have asked quite a number of top Kenyan content creators for some tips especially in rate cards - since that was my main interest, and non of them even responded. If you {Joanna} plan on tackling this topic, am all ears in polishing my media kit {rate card}. I'd love a video on this topic.
*MY IMPORTANT TIPS:
1. Its' definitely hard approaching brands. The worst thing that could happen is they tell 'NO", but the day you get that YES" and they pay you for your services - Best feeling ever. Don't stop approaching them.
2.Always create great content and tag that brand and TRUST ME - they will come to you. This works in my favor all the time. Try it.

Loved this video. Thank you. I have been wanting to get back into filming because time and time again I crave it. Even though me and my husband started a successful business a year and a half ago, since I started UA-cam I have just always thought about it and going back. I hate going in and out of it so it has been hard for me to get back into it and you have motivated me beyond. So thank you. I have also been working online since I graduated last year, one year down the line, it was also not easy at first, but now, I have my own place, my parents are not worried and I told them I don't need a job, I can't stand that routine. I prefer working my own hours, getting my own money, and I'm also looking to buy my own car next year God willing through my online business. I quit my job as a Medical Practitioner after working for a year because I feel it's not challenging enough
My dreams be too big they literally make me jump out of my bed am into online business now and it's so exciting however much it's a little difficult in the first month as a full timer, since I was doing it part time, I wake up everyday to a new challenge; to reading deep and listening to success stories such a Joanna's and am very inspired
Many people are against online business and online creation of opportunities since they haven't opened their minds up to embrace the change from what we are used to, to internet/online business and jobs
Some people just invest on sth online and expect the money is going to grow
It's good if we came out of the cocoon and realised online businesses are real and need your time and hard work to earn and be a success

While I congratulate Joanna on her initiative to create her own UA-cam channel, I find the 27 minute video too long for her message and quite disjointed. It could effectively have been passed in 15 minutes or less. She touches on this or that topic without showing how they are associated. In the end there was really not much linked to the title of the video. I think a script of the story before presentation could help communicate the message better. Besides the usual stuff one gets from motivational books and videos, like focus, passion, self drive, determination etc, I found nothing specific about how to create content that sells, how to market it and what challenges awaits the new comer. Folks, unless you live with your parents and have no financial responsibilities, don't even think of quitting your job because of this video or that you feel what you are doing makes no impact. That's living in a dream world! But, hats off to Joanna for her brave initiative which may or may not work for majority of her audience.
