- Visitors to the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum in Yorba Linda, California, are looking back with new perspective this weekend. John Blackstone reports on the library's re-opening, with some familiar faces.
I am British. I hope one day to visit every Presidential Library. We don't really have an equivalent in the UK for Premiers, even great Premiers like Gladstone and Lloyd George. Only the Churchill Cabinet War Rooms (highly renowned) and maybe a blue plaque here and there. I really like the concept of Presidential Libraries.
Richard Nixon was horrible. In 1968, President Lyndon Johnson tried to have peace talks with North Vietnam in Paris. Nixon prevented it by telling the North Vietnamese not to agree to peace and they would get better terms with himself as president. The Vietnamese War continued to 1975 - the year after Nixon resigned.
When Gerald Ford died, he had a statement read at his funeral. "I did have an agreement with Richard Nixon where he had me agree to pardon him as a condition of my becoming vice-president. (paraphrased)"

we honor or past presidents, even those that had flaws. everyone needs to remember hillary Clinton is a pay first lady. this needs to remain in the back of our heads. she deserves respect no matter what.
