  • Join along as we get 7520 back fueled up and we wrap up the last of the disking and head home to get the planter ready to roll. Trip to Tri Valley Ceop Center to pick up the fertilizer. With parts arriving it's all go time some thinking outside of the box and some extra parts run but the fertilizer is wrapped up and ready for test run. Some leaks but farm fixes make it close to 100% Thanks for watching along.

    It’s a really big accomplishment to put a crop in without borrowing money in your 2nd year of farming. My hat is off to you. Make it through this year and it’ll keep getting better.

    Chris - you have nothing to apologize for or justify to your viewers. You basically are running 3-4 business operations on your own, each very successfully. Don't listen to the haters and trolls. You continue to inspire others with your experiences, and willingness to share in a very open manner.

    Never underestimate the value of spare implement wheels/tires. My dad tried to keep some spares around. If I got a flat on an implement tire I could have it changed and get back in the field while dad ran to get the tire repaired.

    • @pizzamangametime9773
      @pizzamangametime9773 3 місяці тому

      Yeah always having spares and trying to keep as few different styles/sizes helps too because then you don't have to try to keep up with as many. Any trailers that I build to use for my truck(got a camper trailer planned) I want to use the same Chevy 6 lug and all my other trailers use the same 5 lug makes it nice being able to steal from one to use on the other in the pinch.

    Chris, I heard you say (yesterday's vid) someone in the comments called you lazy. To whom ever that person is, there ain't no such thing as a lazy farmer. Chris is a one man operation and likely works 4x harder than the hardest working average people out there. I put in 15 to 18hour days when I worked for a major Wall Street firm for 30 years. My job was cushy compared to what Chris does, but make no mistake....Chris and lazy don't belong on the same planet together. He's a workaholic and no one out here hopes he makes it BIG more than I do.

    Take no notice of couch potato farm experts.... you'll find they this because they have failed in some aspect of their own lives. You have made great strides in your first year as a first generation farm owner, the fact that you've done most of it with little helps a testament to your will to succeed. You're being level-headed about investing in equipment.... no big repayments or loans, the gear you have is perfectly adequate to do the work because you have the ability to keep it operational which is a major plus with cost of skilled labour these days. Don't listen to these clowns telling you it's late to be sowing corn... we all across Europe are late getting crops because of the weather but we're getting there and you will too. The fact that you are getting your crops in from your own resources is also a major plus... come harvest you'll have more off farm income earned and your crop payments to put you in a great position for next year. If the tax structure is the same as ours here in Ireland all the parts and spares you buy during the year are fully tax deductible so it pays you to keep older gear when you have the skills to maintain it. You'll be in a very good position in a few years time if you keep a steady hand on things. Well done !
