It's interesting that this was pointed out. When I watch Xu Kai & Esther drama. I could not get through the drama because the chemistry was not sincere ( on or off screen ). I felt that Xu Kai clashed with Esther a lot. But seeing Esther work with Xiao Ding was so natural and so much fun ❤
Xu Kai is the only actor that, I think, lacked chemistry with Esther, every other show that she came in she had great chemistry with the male co-stars, Zhang Bin Bin, Dylan Wang, Ding Yu xi, Zhang Linge, Zhang Yu Jin etc.
It's like when you meet your people who can share your sense of humor and your everything . I don't know Xin Xin and Xiao Ding are more than friends or not . Nevertheless ,I am still glad Xin Xin worked with the right people❤ (Hope XD is the one though 😂)
even if you don’t like your co-star, at least pretend to be nice. He can’t even put his into smile, clearly seen annoyed, bothered, and disappointed. Not a gentleman gesture. Yuxi always treats his female co-stars with respect, indulge them, listen to them, put them priority. I seen lot of variety shows. They also have perfect chemistry on and off screen.

I watch sword and fairies, I like the chemistry between Xu Kai and XinXin. I think Xu Kai is the type of person who is straightforward. For Yu Xi, they have met in one project, LGIWF is their second project. to me that explains their closeness. but yeah, I like Yu Xi more.
I once like Xukai but unfortunately after watching his appearance in Hi6 with Xinxin, i saw his rudeness towards her is red flag for me, so yes Ding Yuxi is much much more better than him when it comes to acting and character.
Xukai could have pretended to be a nice and gentleman Co- actor for the sake of promoting their movie. He was too stiff and hot- tempered during the variety show. I used to like him since I watched some of his movies, but the real him is sharp- tongued with low emotional quotient. He could not keep up with Yu Shuxin's positivity and energy. Maybe its tough working with such a man. 😢😢
i agree that xukai is stiff w xinxin but back then when he was w tan song yuan he is quite sweet and charming w her so i think xukai isnt so compatible w xinxin
yeah, this is the matter of being professional, if your co-star was trying their best to make chemistry we should respect their effort even when you have cold blood with them.

Regretfully, he wasn't able to maintain his composure and showed everyone his discomfort and disgust while the other contestants who did the same were also in pain but never reacted the same way Xukai did.😢
will i really don't know xukai so can't judge him.. while ding yuxi is caring towards his partners like intense love, love you seven times, melody of golden age.his partner in the romance of the Tiger and rose, i think he's a little intimidated by her so he is a little shy boy at that time... but they made a great chemistry so still waiting for season 2 😂😂😂😊❤❤
It's hard for males to do 2nd drama with Lusi because she does purification afterwards (means turning drama fans into her own fans only) instead of sharing the limelight :(
I think Xukai has a tough temperament because he doesn't want to be influenced by Esther. However, Esther did a drama with him and was sadly left alone.
