Omg, Billy, thank you for actually having a good time with this classic. It could be cause you grew up with this film, but thank you for not complaining about anything. Other commentators were so negative - calling out every little thing "wrong" with the movie, and I hate that so much lmao.
Yeah I definitely had a bias from my childrenhood 😂 I understand now when I’m complaining about movies others grew up on. I get it now! Probably will still do it. But I do get it 😂

I get some of the CGI being outdated, but at least everything was mot spelled out for us like future movies do now. The writing wasn’t bad. Everything that was set up had a conclusion.
I always like the conclusion of the robots programmed to be good. I wish more writers explored that dichotomy.
The family dynamics are fun to watch.
I am not that crazy about the second film, but never get tired of this and the third one. They are funny and entertaining to watch.

Machete is a weird character. He has his own movies, made by the same director, played by the same actor (Danny Trejo), but he's not the same character as he is in Spy Kids.

I think its nice how spy kids was in a alternate world where essentially latinos or and Hispanics were the majority in the United States so you saw more influence in some of the shots. Which makes sense due to the fact this movie was made for more representation when it comes to latinos in family films. Also the fact that so many cameos from celebrities like Steve Buscemi, Salma Hayek, George Clooney, the dad literally being Antonio Banderas...just...wow. The films may have not been perfect but you cant say care wasnt put into them

Funny thing is, my mama was 7 months pregnant with me when this movie came out. It was still a classic in my household and one of my favorites.

I loved Spy Kids as a little children. The 2nd one is probably my favorite but it also scared me the most.
I watched this movie religiously as a kid, and idk if it’s just me, but the scene where they swim by the sharks was NOT in the movie when I watched it. I distinctly remember them just swimming through and Carmen saying something about the water being warmer in a spot and Juny goes “sorry…”

"David Clownie" is crazy.
I like spy kids 1 and 2 but 2 the most. Couple reasons. 1. I quote Gary and Gerdy all the time. They’re so funny. Especially the “knew technology” line. 2. I like the scene where they fight skeletons. 3. When I was young I like the presidents daughters outfits. 4. The scene where they go to like a dinner and the adults fall asleep and the kids fight, I always thought was cool. And the part where gerdy presses her bracelets and her hair become propellers and she can fly. 5. The wife’s parents come and see them and she tells Gregorio he has something on his lip (which is his fake mustache) and she rips it off. I stay dying laughing at that part. 6. The scientist guy on the island, he is just my childhood. He raised me.
I like 2 the most because while the first one is about two kids thrown into a survive and rescue mission that they weren’t ready for, the 2nd is them actually actually being spy kids. And as a kid, it was so cool seeing them fight bad guys and use their gadgets and training.

Nothing wrong with bald heads billy! my uncle had a majorly receding hairline, and one christmas my cousins gifted him some powder and a powder brush, reading off of a 'news article' (which they wrote) that claimed there'd been a number of car accidents where the victims cited 'being blinded by the light reflecting off a black man's forehead'. all in good fun of course! but yeah my uncle shaved his head after that 😂bald was the safer choice in this family

Classic movie of 2001. Haven't seen this in a long time. #childhood. I was 9 when this movie came out. I watched this a year later. I heard this year they did a remake & I was like "this is a joke, right? This didn't need a remake!"

Your comment about getting old killed me because I relate. I used to ride rollercoasters back to back until the amusement park workers would kick me out and I even went skydiving once in college over 10 years ago. I went to Six Flags in 2016 and my dumb4ss decided to "warm up" with a wooden rollercoaster as i forgot just how bad wooden ones whip you around. I got off that thing slow as h3ll, let all the actual kids run past me, and hobbled straight over to get a $12 margarita before I sat down for a half hour. That was a good 2 years before I had my daughter so I genuinely don't know if i could go on a rollercoaster now when i can't even read on a train or in the car half the time 😭💀 how were my parents and other older family members doing this back in the day?!
This is a certified kid classic. I was 8 when this came out And also had the McDonald's toy that came with it which was like a spy watch made out of cardboard

As a little children this came out on Disney channel often and I saw the 3rd one way too many times, so I can't wait for you to react to the others and I highly don't recommend for you to watch the 4th one. For the reboot, that's all on you. I enjoyed it and I hope there'll be more when it comes to that. Anyway I was a year old when the 1st one came out, 2 years old in the second one and 3 on the 3rd one. The 4th I was 11. I tell you it's been hell of a long time, them kids are grown and married with beautiful kids. Juni'(Daryl) all about that bass and Carmen(Alexa) is with Big time rush helmet dude. The 2nd one is my favorite.#bingers

I was about 9 when this movie came out. My parents took me and I was obsessed! I even dressed as Carmen for Halloween, down to the green gumball, and I knew her whole name by heart. I think I also liked that it reminded me of my family at the time, because it was me, my parents, and a kid brother. These movies are still so awesome. I can’t believe Robert Rodriguez predicted The Volume!
Speaking of emergency alarms, one went off on my college campus when I was about to take a shower. Luckily, I opened the door when someone knocked, instead of getting in, because there was an actual gas leak on campus and they were having us evacuate to different spots on campus.

One time I was in the shower and there was a tornado watch; I got shampoo in my hair and then had to get out. Messed up my whole routine for a tornado that didn't even touch the ground.
Pig intestine: yes, it's delicious. In PR, there's morcilla: fill it with rice, meat, spices, and pig's blood (which doesn't taste like anything tbh) and boil them. Some people fry them (even better) (chitterlings).
