i thought this was going to be about the design philosophy of the old gear in general, not "why did the launch version of tier 2 look weird? it used level 45 gear as placeholders" I mean, I guess I learned that tier 2 didn't always look like tier 2
For sure the first sets that came out in Wotlk sucked ass. But the last few sets that came out before the xpack ended. I have to admit we're really good
@@abrahammendiola4446 First Set in wotlk was recolor of t3, so basically you're saying that wotlk Sets looked better than Classic Sets. My Point would be that Classic/TBC and to an extend wotlk Sets were more unique. After that they just threw the raid Design at the Charakters, wich is fine, but you don't get those destinct looks anymore. That peaked of course in raids where every Armor Type got the same Set, so every DK/Pala/Warrior or priest/lock/mage looked the same.
Objectively many more sets looked much better in later wow. What is good in vanilla is the down to earth dnd kind of feel. But other than that most older sets are straight up ugly
Your channel is good the only piece youre missing is giving yourself a longer topic for a longer video. Videos like this do really well if they're 20+ mins long. I'd say take the advice of covering the design philosophy or whatever you want just make it longer. Worth my three minutes though lol.
I disagree with the initial claim that those sets are ugly idk i think theyre more interesting than a lot of sets in guild wars or ff14 i think it may be the saturated colors and the detailed but not over the top look BUT i also like the updated stuff too

I thought the video was gonna have more... information... than it did.
welcome to a vaulty video
This video is just a...placeholder for actual information.
Honestly some of the placeholder sets have their own charm
Tier sets started going downhill in Wotlk. TBC still had that good designs.

Nicely done. They loved major league shoulder padding!
Many of the original armour sets where very good. Quite detailed but not over the top.
A lot of the vanilla sets looked much better than anything that came after.
