I like the possible worlds that drawings open up in his methods of working. It tells us that drawings can do much more operations than mere "aesthetics" (its narrowed meaning of "looking cool/affective") or CDs.
In the end the success of explorations such as these is not the ability to generate imagery but actually how effectively an idea has been communicated by a disciplined approach that presents meaningful assemblies of subcomponents. Generative exercises are fine but ultimately some type of intentional order must be the organizer.
