Gert, you remembered me how excited I was in further time on a piano and my keyboard, later on at the organ in my church. Every time working with an instrument was a lucky time. After seeing lots of videos from you I re-started to practice at my old keyboard, and I hope in some time I will have the second chance to play at my favorite organ again. Thank you very much for your motivation - for bringing back the motivation to me. All good wishes for you and your family.

Gert the first time I listened to one of your videos, as I watched you play I told me wife, "This man has been touched by God. The emotion you put into your music is so deep and profound and I think how God is using you to bring joy to millions of viewers. Your little boy is angelic and looks so much like you at that age. He is absolutely precious. God be with you always and continue playing your music for in doing so you are blessing those of us who can't play but who receive blessing when we listen to you.

Thank you for introducing yourself, Gerd. I have your CDs, and have watched you from the time you won that extraordinary Dutch organ competition. And I loved what you did on the organ of Liverpool's vast Anglican Cathedral Church of Christ.
Before I retreat to bed with COVID-19 (both I and my husband have it) I - the 'junior' organist at my village church - wanted to send the UA-cam video of your live-registratie van Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, Sinfonia uit oratorium Solomon van Georg' Friedrich Händel (1685-1759) tijdens de opname van je CD 'Reprise' in de Sint-Martinuskerk, Dudelange to my principal organist to give him something wonderful and cheering to listen to and watch you play. He is, along with all other old people in the UK, in self-quarantine against this dreadful virus and I can think of no more optimistic, uplifting gift while he is isolated. And so, via this route, I came to see this lovely video which you have just posted. Thank you for it; it is a warm and enthusiastic glimpse into your world. And thank you above all for the recitals and recordings which you take the time to put on UA-cam, which are such a joy to listen to and, incredible inspiration as we practise alone in our freezing country churches around Europe and think of your incredible footwork and mastery of our instrument! Hoi meneer van Hoef, ik ga op orgelles, maar ik heb geen orgel thuis, denkt u dat dat uitmaakt?
Dat is wel een beetje lastig. Heb je iets anders waar je op kunt oefenen?
Ja, een piano. Ik speel al bijna 5 jaar piano, maar noten lezen moet ik nog onder de knie krijgen. Ik doe het op muzikaal gehoor. Ik woon in Hoorn en zal les krijgen in de Koepelkerk. Ook voor korte tijd in de Rooms-Katholieke kerk in Zwaag, maar het orgel van de Koepelkerk is erg mooi. Heb uw Marche’ d Athalie gezien op dat orgel en ik vond het prachtig. Bedankt voor het antwoord. Hoor graag meer 👍🏻
