  • Nurse salary: What kind of nurses get paid the most money? How much money does a nurse make per hour or per year in the United States on average?
In this video, we reveal the latest nurse salary figures published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This includes the different types of nurses. The video includes the average salary and hourly wage for the following:
    -Nursing assistant salary (CNA)
    -LPN salary (LVN Salary)
    -RN salary
    -Nurse practitioner salary
    -Nurse midwife salary
    -Nurse anesthetist salary (CRNA salary)
Keep in mind that these figures are the average only (not your salary or the starting salary). The average is a numerical calculation that roughly represents the middle number out of a data set. Therefore, you may make more or less than these amounts.
Factors that can affect nursing salaries include location, experience, work status (part time, full time, as needed), industry, and more.

I've been an LPN for about a year and a half now(currently going through the RN bridge program) . I'm in a pretty unique role on a Med surg floor for an LPN. My starting offer was equal to or just higher than your average new grad RN. To all new nurses out there, don't ever underestimate your value and never under sell yourself!

I worked as a CNA for 5 years and my average salary was about 20~23 dollars per hour. There are many jobs out there that give you much more money than the average.

DFW area is $28-30 per hour for new grads across the board (BSW, Texas Health, Med City, Parkland, UT Southwestern, etc). They all say non-negotiable.

So, if I work as an LPN in CA (just finished school), 12/7 which implies I'll might end up making around $8,300 pre month or about $5,500 if I work 8/7. Sound goods. Thank you for this resource.

I make $25.15/hr as a new grad in NC on a med surg floor with a 6:1 ration and 1 CNA/18 patients. Often I'm asked to work relief charge in staffing with no extra pay. It's up to you to decide I'd you wanna work here, I can't persuade you wither way.

    • @abigailbates7852
      @abigailbates7852 2 роки тому

Totally depends on where you work. I’m a new grad in the piedmont region of NC. Average new grad pay in these hospitals is $29-31/hr. Med surg ratio is 5-7:1. Depends on your unit. Most hospitals here offer incentive pay as well for extra shifts. Before that I was a CNA for three years. Starting pay is $15/hr for a NA1 and $16 for an NA 2. I was making more than that when I transitioned and the incentive rate was $15/hr for extra days. Ratios usually were anywhere from 8-13:1. Totally depended on the unit you worked.

Starting salary at my local hospital, for an ADN (not Even BSN), with no experience is…. $47. This is even before the WHOLE like 3% increase you get for night shift lol cuz there are definitely only night shifts open (seniority takes day shifts). I know there is at least one other LTC that pays better but I can’t remember which one, which is surprising for a LTC. Also all OT is double time, not time and a half.

There are eight key steps foreign-educated nurses will need to take in order to obtain a position as an RN in a U.S. hospital.
      Meet the educational requirements
Complete a foreign-educated nurses (FEN) course
Take and pass an English language proficiency test, if mandated
Pass your National Council Licensing Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX - RN)
      Obtain credential evaluation
Find a nursing recruiting agency or US-based employer
Apply and obtain an RN immigrant visa/green card
      Accept an RN position

Let people move independently and freely amongst the world if they have the ability... it's a fundamental human right whether or not it's written. Countries that are in poor circumstances are not going to magically change because some people in vital positions emigrate out.

You obviously aren’t educated on this 🙄. Our healthcare system would collapse here without foreign nurses and doctors . We have had a critical shortage for decades even with mass influx of nurses from Canada and the Philippines . FYI the nursing education and requirements are much higher and in depth than we USA nurses . Go take a look at specialists in major hospitals you’ll see most aren’t from here ! Sorry racist we need them and they’re education surpasses us.
