  • Robert Greene is an author known for his books on strategy, power, mastery, and seduction. The 48 Laws of Power, perhaps Greene's most famous book, found a particularly passionate audience among rappers and musicians, as the book resonates with the challenges and dynamics of the music industry. After 50 Cent read it, he approached Greene and the two collaborated on The 50th Law. It’s been mentioned in songs by Jay Z, Kanye West, UGK, Central Cee, MF DOOM, and Drake.

Hearing Robert talk about how his stroke has impacted him really moved me. There are so many little thinks we take for granted everyday. Rick, the way you reframed counting the cyclists was beautiful (53:50). Everything is a construct within our heads and sometimes changing/reframing the story is what makes the difference.

I usually write by hand because of the anxiety issue. A blank journal page doesn't trouble me, but a blank Google Doc page with wordcount just a click away does. Writing into a journal is more organic, the composition emerges whole, and then can be transferred to other formats.

I think his minimalism here probably reflects how he's learned to let artist express themselves, so, I think that is more instructive of his methods than if he explained himself, or talked more.

Your speed, is your speed, there speed is there speed!
In the end, its between you and your source, it was never between you and them.
The journey is never about the speed, but the experience, you construct in your mind, the choice is ours!!!
    What's that gonna be?

@@jimjamjerry I believe it is a false emotion to control people. Its a form of forced masking. Humans are animals with emotions and they should just as in touch with their stomach and gut desires and sex ones as their intellectual ones. This over emphasis on this proves to me that it really is nihilism, it is a charade being created for people to not deal with grief healthy or learn to communicate better. They want little emotionless robots who act like they are full of honor and dignity but they aren't at all. This war face/ethic and mentality will not win anything.

The best example of how much they have ruined this word and concept is just listening to Ryan Hamilton the protege slash research assistant for this person....poor guy. He is so brainwashed he just sits around quoting the dozen different versions of Marcus Aurelius' meditations over and over like its a bible and secret code to worship and unlock... this perfect leader a philosopher king warrior, CORNY!!!!!

Best part was Rick suggesting Robert try to get to 100 people passing him because it's all just a mental construct and a story we tell ourselves. Why not just make a different story? I thought that was very clever and interesting. Worst part was Robert talking about how Israel shouldn't overreact because it will destroy a chance of a peace deal. I thought that was a clueless, naive viewpoint.
