The speech given at the beginning of this is that perfect explanation for why people can feel so strongly for a celebrity in the modern world. The meaning someone has is something that you decide when you discover them, and for some people, the motivation of following someone elses steps makes them feel like they are more capable of achieving their goals. Thank god for casey neistat, because i wouldnt have as great of an appreciation for Bert without the inspiration he gave him.

I'm really happy for you, Casey. You worked like a maniac, every day for 20+ years. Another rant here (I am long winded) Topic: I love what Casey says about NYC compared to LA (at, around 1:13:00 and after). He is spot on. Places like the New York, Texas, the Mid West..the South.. as well as the high mountain and desert states of the West. Those all feel like places of American identities to me.. real Americans acting in real American traditions: loving their country, friendly and functioning together, proud of their regional differences, but still taking pride in that feeling of being a part of this one big beautiful nation with a big heart, still close knit and definitely a sense of having each other's backs. Places like LA and SF and even Portland and Seattle (why it's a West coast thing I will never know)... but (the core of those cities, not their suburbs) feel like communities (if you want to call them that -as unfriendly and crime and drug ridden as they are, which is the opposite of "community") haven't a clue of how to live, as they all have something in common: they outspokenly love to hate anything American. Red, White and Blue to them is not freedom and liberty and 4th of July parades. To them it is some evil beast as they live in their hell holes they create for themselves that they call cities and spew their hate outward toward the country that quite literally feeds them (i.e. Midwest farmers for example). The culture in places like LA and SF is to behave proudly in shitting on American traditions (again, the outer suburbs of those cities not included (I give them a break) as they (mostly) can't stand their inner core of their cities either) but the core of these cities are an illness of some movement that can't be explained, but one can only look upon in shock. They are hardly what I would identify as anything traditionally American and based in the traditions and values of what created this nation, as they actually GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO belittle the rest of America and American traditions and heritage as evil. Imperfect as everything is.. sure.. but evil? That's just sabotage is what they are out to do. I know.. I've lived in those cities. It's grotesque how they view the rest of the nation as lessor people, ignorant at the voting booths, etc. as if they have some higher moral authority as they act in the most unfriendly and superficial of ways (as Casey points out so well). I've personally encountered so many of them living in the core of these cities. The west coast is where the term "fly-over country" was coined. It's the term people in LA and SF use to describe all of middle America, as if the rest of America doesn't matter, including their votes don't matter, and certainly their love of country doesn't matter.. heck, that's a fool's mentality to love the USA ---if you ask a hardcore LA or SF or Portland/Seattle resident. Riots, homelessness... that's what their mentalities produce. They are such a shining example of what American should be, right? Sure.. be like them. Keep voting their way and we WILL be them. That's what they want and all the giant media forces are pushing. New Yorkers -- most of them still today-- remind me of the older style Democrats, who were much more conservative and patriotic at heart. Remember "conservative "is not a political party, its a state of mind. Just like being "liberal" minded is. A community needs both types of minds or mindsets. It's human to be either! Take your choice. But it's the political parties that have hijacked these two terms and pitted them (we, us) against each other. But yes, a Kennedy type Democrat is what New Yorkers still feel like to me, to this day - much more conservative and a hell of a lot more patriotic compared to their LA, SF and the west coast self-described Democrats. The Leftist (born from the West) have hijacked the Democrat party and taken it to places I can't even imagine how one gets to that point and thinks the way they do. Defund the police? Let criminals off for low-violent burglaries? Let illegal immigration run uncontrolled so as to stagnate wages for everyone? Forgive all organized rioting as rightful protesting, unless of course they protest carrying an American flag.. then they ARE rioters! WTF!?? It's literally the poster image of what derangement looks like at the top is what the Leftist' hijacking of the long-standing Democrat party looks like today. I don't know what a Leftist is.. but it's not the same as a Democrat of decades ago that helped (alongside Republicans) build this nation strong, and it's MOST DEFINITELY NOT AMERICAN.. What a Leftist is, is what has hijacked the Democrat party and is destroying it,--- and it is SCARY who they have as leaders today. Think about it.. of the 3 most powerful people in D.C. today.. 2 of them are from SF and one is quite literally out of his mind. Some of the highest paid on the side wealthiest people in the government are Democrats, not Republicans.. but the media doesn't want any of us to know that. In fact, they prefer you believe the opposite is true. God help us and what that party is doing to destroy this nation, it's heritage, traditions and not to mention our cities, right before our eyes. I'm too smart align myself with a Democrat party of modern day. And as most conservatives have in recent years denounced the Republican party to move more moderate, as they proved so by voting in a business leader to up heave the inept career Republican politicians, the Democrats too should learn from this and denounce whatever disaster of a direction their party has gone in as well with their Leftist leaders gaining ground and utterly destroying it. Moderates .. Why can't we just return to a country of moderates - patriotic liberals and patriotic conservatives.. all moderately working together for love of country and community and doing everything to improve life for everyone. That's what built America (study your history.. you know this to be true - no matter how you align - it takes moderation -- and for most of its history the US has had just that.. two sides no DEMONIZING the other, but working together) .. so let's all return to the middle.. Its takes liberal mindedness and conservative mindedness to run any community properly. Each needs to quit demonizing the other in social and major media, and let's start acting as one! P.S. the Leftist started it.

Can't believe I didn't catch this when it came out, being such a fan of both Bert and Casey. Such a candid, easy going interview. A testament to Casey's character. Bert even managed to not interrupt him too many times!
Casey's early life should be adapted into a motion picture
Video part 2.?
Bert's humble upbeat energy is infectious. I love hearing him ask Casey questions on my behalf.
“I don’t hate free time…I envision a moment in my life where there’s nothing but free time.”

Coming back to watch this again. Bert, this interview is really incredible and I feel like your humility and honesty made Casey more open than he has been on any interview. Go Noles!!!
Jokes aside, Bart did a great job letting Casey tell his story. This was an excellent interview!
I remember Bert fan boying over Casey so many years ago. He also changed the way I live my life so I live that Bert appreciates him as much as his fans do
This has got to be one of my favorite episodes, I knew you loved Casey but damn lol this was a super dope podcast!! Great questions, awesome back and forth, you could tell you were both being 100% genuine. Awesome bertcast.
I am NOT a parent,, with that said, what casey said about having a child poor and having a child well off,, HIT ME!! I grew up 'Dirt Poor' so him even putting that in the lime light about his kids is PURE AMAZING.
Can I get a round of applause for this man!! 👏👏👏👏 @10:32
Casey inspired me as well I started a drone company because of him I bought every DJI product he reviewed lol 😂 miss the good ole days mail time..
What Bert says in the beginning about Casey in the beginning. Casey inspired me to make content on UA-cam. He awesome!
"Casey, before I let you talk...." Something you will almost never hear Brent say

Bert, I’m a big fan of yours. I watch 2B1C every week, follow you in IG, etc.
For whatever reason, I’ve never actually sat and watched a BertCast from start to finish. I don’t know why. This caught my eye because of Casey and his influence on me over the years.
This episode is one of the best podcasts I’ve ever seen you on.
Bert's the BEST..... Thank you for all you do Bert....
