So i drive the EX40 (got renamed from XC40) since january this year. I never really try the one pedal drive i think the feature does not really work well with pilot assist (which is true for all cars), what it actually does on a stop light is not just to stop. If you hold the brake pedal "softly" and release it, it will start rolling again but if you press the pedal completly down it will engage auto hold so you can lift of your food again and the car stands still. I also noticed that the car is most efficient over 15C where i could get 17 kw/h on the highway (doing roughly 100 km/h) and even less in city traffic. Overall it is an awesome car,. It is not a spectacular car by any means, it looks good, it drives smooth and somehow you arrive relaxed after a longer journey. Lovely Review as well, hits the spirit of the car quite nice
Thanks for the review. This is high on our list to replace our family ICE vehicle. I’ve read for 2024 the motors have been redesigned to be more efficient. Hopefully that helps with range.
If you buy the Twin Recharge and you limit your charging to 90% (per Volvo's recommendation) you actually have something more like 228 miles of range - which isn't sufficient for a lot of people. I think Volvo needs to either look at acquiring somewhat larger capacity batteries or substantially improving the car's efficiency to squeeze more miles per kwh to make this practical. Other than that, I love this car.
Agreed I have one in the mileage isn't that great. I wish Volvo would consider looking at ways to swap out this existing pack for a bigger one down the road and just keep this car in the road as long as possible, thereby improving the the brand in the eye of consumers leading to other sales.

My xc40 recharge extended 2024 range is very bad, 400 kms maximum at 100%, very bad, never went even close to 500kms even going at 90kms/h, 300 kms would be the right range in most travels. I live in Portugal, moderate temperature, we never go below 0°C in my area, I can’t imagine the lost of autonomy in colder climate. Don’t be fulled, look for other options before setting on this model.

I would say that the xc40 recharge's closest rival is an Audi Q4 etron
